I think what I miss most is having someone to tell the little things to. Not the big, important life updates. The everyday nonsense.
The funny thing a child said at work. A song I've been listening to far too much. A photo I took because the light looked nice. Something completely ridiculous that made me laugh and immediately think, I wish I had someone to send this to.
Someone to flirt with when I should probably be doing something productive. Someone who makes me smile at my phone like an idiot.
Life is good. Genuinely. I've got a career I care about, people I love, responsibilities that matter, and an increasing number of grey hairs that I'm choosing to ignore.
But there's something missing.
I miss the excitement of getting to know someone. The teasing, the flirting, the conversations that start with absolutely nothing and somehow end two hours later. That lovely feeling when you realise you've started looking forward to hearing from one particular person.
A little about me. I'm 38, from Ireland. A teacher, with brown hair, blue eyes, tattoos, and a reasonably successful relationship with the gym.
I make music, read, enjoy photography, spend too much time gaming on my PC, and have a soft spot for old cameras and anything with a bit of history. I'm curious about most things and occasionally convinced I'm funnier than I actually am.
I'm fairly easygoing, affectionate, thoughtful and sarcastic. I love a bit of playful teasing, especially with someone who can give as good as she gets. But underneath all that, I'm a bit of a romantic. I like affection, reassurance, and knowing someone genuinely wants me around.
And that's really what I'm looking for.
Not endless small talk, a few days of excitement, or something that disappears as quickly as it started.
I'd love to find one woman I can properly get to know. Someone I can laugh with, flirt with, confide in and gradually become close to. Someone who wants to share the ordinary parts of her day as much as the exciting ones.
I want the chemistry, absolutely. The butterflies, the anticipation, the occasional conversation that gets a little less innocent. 😉 But I want the friendship and emotional connection underneath it all too. Something that actually means something to both of us.
I'm not looking to turn anyone's life upside down. I just think there's room for a connection that makes us both feel a little more wanted, appreciated and excited about the day ahead.
Ideally, you're 30–45, warm, funny, affectionate, curious, and not afraid to show a little interest. Location isn't particularly important, although being able to catch each other awake would be a bonus.
I don't need constant attention. I just like the idea of two people who genuinely make time for each other because they want to.
And if we end up becoming each other's favourite distraction, sharing terrible jokes, stealing a little sleep to keep talking, and getting butterflies from a simple notification?
Well, I think that sounds pretty lovely.
*Notabot. Just an Irishman with questionable jokes and a dangerously good ability to get attached to the right conversation. Sorry this turned into a novel!
