Any moms out there studying for the LSAT?

Just as the title suggests, I’m in my 30s and I have an almost 1-year-old at home. I’ve stayed home the past year to be with them and to focus on applying to law school. However, I have really struggled to find a consistent time to study because the only childcare I have is pretty sporadic because we’re broke.

I just canceled my November test and I am super bummed about it. My PTs are just not where I need them to be, and I know I can get better with more time and practice. Hoping to take the January one, but afraid of ending up in the same spot I’m in now.

Anyone have any advice or can tell me how you are/were able carve out enough time in study and do full PTs with a young child at home?

I’ve tried studying after putting the baby down for bed at night, but I am so depleted by the end of the day that I tend not to retain information well or score very highly on drills.

Please be kind I am kind of going through it today.

Any August Score Hold Updates?

Look, I know there is a megathread, but I also know there is a selective bias with people whose scores are released usually going silent since they have less to worry about. I ask, since so many score are released according to the Test Taker page/release numbers.

Is there anyone here whose August Score Hold (2026) has been released? Any stories of hearing back recently? I really need my score back and I want to have some hope.

Am I unjustified for being annoyed

I took my first test in April and October was my fourth for context. September I scored a 166 which is okay but im shooting for closer to a 170. The medians at the law schools I want to go to just jumped up by two points making it so that I’m now below or at the median of schools I was previously above.

I’m feeling really frustrated because I’ve been noticing the tests feel like they’re getting trickier. Less formal logic, more abstract, less questions having a clear right answer as opposed to just a least bad answer. It also seems like they’re putting more difficult questions early on in the sections, when most people’s strategy is to try and get through the first ten quickly to bank answers for the harder questions at the end. This is all fair for lsac to do, it’s their test, but I’m left feeling so frustrated that it feels like I’m getting a harder test, yet still being evaluated against the incredible rise/inflation of lsat scores and medians from at home testing.

Am I unjustified in feeling frustrated about this? I’ve answered at this point 2000 lsat questions and feel like the rug is being pulled out from under me

When to give up with this test, need advice please

Studied for two years. 1 year of full time studying. Worked with a tutor, tried every platform you can think off; 7sage, LSAT demon, Power Score Bibles, The Loop hole etc. Highest LSAT was a 144 in 2025. My third time that I took the LSAT in January I scored a 141 after almost a year of studying. Is it safe to say, that this field may not be for me? I’m slowly coming to terms with this but it definitely is so hard to accept because of this test lol

Keep confusing sufficient & necessary - any advice?

Hello! I'm taking the November LSAT but have realized that the more I learn about sufficient and necessary indicators, the more lost I get. Before, I was getting questions right using my own intuition, but now I seem to be getting everything wrong as I learn more.

I understand the rules, but for some reason I keep confusing the sufficient and necessary indicators (specifically when there are none of those indicator words present). I've looked at so many YouTube videos (including some discrete math videos), 7Sage, and completed The Loophole, but I just keep getting stuck. It's literally the only part of the LSAT I struggle with, and I think I've probably spent like 50 hours just trying to understand it. Something's not clicking and I'm not sure what the problem is.

My theory is that this problem arose from the fact that much of learning material I've been able to find doesn't really place an emphasis on those harder and more complex LSAT questions, but I'm not even like 50% sure that this is the case.

Does anyone have any advice on how to improve? I'm just so incredibly concerned I won't get this by November and I have honestly never felt dumber. I know for a fact that once I finally stop confusing sufficient and necessary indicators I will be able to get a high score on the real exam.

random but need advice

hi, i’m in my second year postgrad and i am trying to move out of my childhood home for several reasons (large reason is for mental health) i just took october lsat, and i think i did alright, but this reddit be scaring me so idk….

anyways, my dad and brothers totally freaked out about me moving out. they said i should be be totally done w the lsat before i move out and already have my applications done).

The score on this LSAT completely determines whether i apply to law school this cycle or the next, and i’m not in a rush tbh. Anyways, lsatters, does it make sense for me to not move out so I can study at home for the LSAT? For those who have moved to a new city, did it completely deter your prep?

feeling horrible about oct lsat

Basically what the title says. I walked out of the testing center feeling moderate, and then realized I don't remember a single thing that I answered minus a couple LRs that stumped me and how I felt during a hard RC section. I cried to both my parents thirty minutes after, and have not been able to shake this feeling of dread. Will literally jump for joy if I get a 160.

Would a lower score on my 3rd attempt look bad in terms of admissions?

I took the October test, did not feel confident walking out. I have a feeling it might be just the same or maybe below what I got in August. But I'm tired of paying for score preview and since I already took the test, it's gonna be around $85 now. What do you all think? Would it look bad if I got a lower score on October? I already paid $45 on 1st attempt, $85 on 2nd, and now another $85 sounds terrible...

October LSAT

Was scoring in high 170s before October LSAT and finished all my sections with time to spare on PTs. But on Oct LSAT i had to guess on approx 5 questions on RC and had to read for structure on the last passage because of lack of time... so i missed a lot of details im sure. Someone please give me a hope story of this happening but still scoring high.

Lawhub PT Recency

When taking PTs on Lawhub, I have consistently scored mid-high 170s on PTs 120-130, but I have found PTs 150-159 WAY harder and my scores are on average 5 points lower than the other PTs.

Is it true that PTs 150-159 contain more recent material that is more representative of the LSAT today? If that's the case things are looking problematic for me as I've already taken PTs 152-159 and my scores are a lot less encouraging than the earlier PTs.

I take my first actual attempt this November, and I was wondering if anyone who's already taken the LSAT thinks PTs 150+ are more representative of the exam.

Score Cancellation/Score Preview is a complete scam by LSAC

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of other things in LSAC's business model that are arguably scams as well, but they at least have the pretense of either helping people study or being necessary for the administration of the test. Score Preview is completely pay-to-win, and on top of this, many admissions officers say that cancelling either has zero impact, or makes someone's application look worse. So either they're offering a way for people to pay money to make their applications look better, or they're misleading people about an ineffective product. Either way it's gross.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the fact that it doesn't actually give you a preview of your score despite being called "score preview."

I’m tweaking a little

I took the October LSAT and my last two pts going in were a 179 and a 180 so I felt really strong. The first two sections were my only RC and a scored LR, but during the break I felt so confident that I started absentmindedly doodling on the scratch paper like an idiot and got called out by the proctors (justifiably I made a mistake) and I feel like it totally threw me off my game. I didn’t submit any sections feeling like I didn’t get the questions but I’m totally in my head convinced that I bombed the second LR and my test won’t be accepted even though I think that’s probably not true. This is going to be the longest 15 days of my life.

LSAT Argumentative Writing got cut off prior to end of sentence

Have any of ya’ll had this happen before? LOL. I was on my 5th paragraph and ran out of time so I quickly combined my counter-argument and conclusion into one quick paragraph and I got timed out halfway through the last word. I got a kick out of that but do I have to worry about that at all during the application process? 😂 My last word was “availability” and I got to “avail…” and then it ended. The last paragraph was horrible too as I panicked from running out of time.

Ya’ll got any stories of something like this?

Smoking to sleep?

Hi! I have combed through many of the weed and lsat prep posts on here. I’m seeing a common theme of smoking weed while studying most likely impedes your ability to retain knowledge (with the occasional rare person who actually studies for it better while high). Those of you who did quit/cut back, did you feel like smoking weed JUST to sleep prevented your ability to retain knowledge? I’m trying to figure out whether I should cut back completely or just a little.

Argumentative Writing

Oh boy. I just did my first argumentative writing practice ever. That is not fun at all. I'm going to have to spend some time with this before I actually submit it. I realized I entirely missed what the question was even asking 8 minutes into writing, and I spent so much time on my introduction. I have a chronic habit of going back and forth when I'm writing too.

Do you guys think it'll be alright if I'm submitting this 2 weeks after my LSAT?
Also any suggestions on how I should best prep for this?
