hiya!! i've been looking at ma shakespeare studies at kcl as well as ma shakespeare at birmingham. i'm aware kcl is a lot more expensive than birmingham but it has a well-known reputation for research and high quality facilities. could anyone who's done ma shakespeare studies provide me insight on what the course is like? also, does having access to the globe theatre and the indoor Sam Wanamaker playhouse benefit your devising ability?

Hi everyone! I’m putting together a study group for second-year law students at KCL. The idea is to meet regularly, depending on everyone’s schedules and what we feel would be most useful, with a focus on our core second-year modules: Tort, Property, and Equity and Trusts (third years in PPL taking any of these modules are also welcome).
The aim is to have a space to work through concepts we find challenging, have regular study sessions and have a good space to revise together. We can structure it in whatever way people find most useful.
We’ll start by meeting in a group study room in the Maughan Library and can later decide whether to continue there or explore other study spots around campus.
Our first meeting will be right after reading week.
If you’re interested in joining, feel free to send me a message or comment below!

Hi everyone!
For anyone who’s currently studying or has studied the BA in Film Studies at KCL, how are you finding the course? Is it mostly theoretical, or do you also get opportunities to explore the practical side of filmmaking?
I’m also curious about what a typical weekly schedule looks like (how many days and hours you’re expected to be at uni) and whether it’s manageable to have a part-time job alongside your studies. Has anyone managed to find work in the film industry while studying?
Also, has anyone had the chance to spend a semester abroad? If so, was it worth it?
Lastly, are there any older students on the course, or is it mostly people straight out of school? And what kind of careers do graduates usually go into?
I’d really appreciate any insights or advice. Thank you! :)

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about the course and if someone has completed it if they’ve gotten a job yet, and how hard is it to get in?

Currently looking for a family to volunteer for an infant observation in London.
Hello! My name is Gareth and I have been studying a course about infant development at the British Psychotherapy Foundation. I have over 4 years of experience supporting children and alongside my studies, I currently work in NHS mental health services supporting children, young people and their families.
As a core part of my training with the British Psychotherapy Foundation, I am seeking to find a London based family, who would be willing for me to visit and observe their newborn baby from close to birth and up until their 2 year birthday.
The observations are typically for one hour, once a week, at a regular and convenient time for the first 2 years of your baby's life. Of course there is a lot of flexibility and weeks where a visit may not always be appropriate. This includes holidays, illness or any other circumstances that can be discussed throughout.
The purpose of my visits would simply be to quietly and non-judgementally observe your baby and their interactions in your home, in the completely ordinary circumstances of your day to day life. I would be completely in the background, just listening to you and observing how your baby is behaving and communicating during that hour. The observation would happen entirely at your comfort level, for example I could leave the room during any moments that your privacy is needed, depending on what you are most comfortable with.
Overall, this experience would help me learn deeply about the early development of infants and is a long established training component for child and adolescent psychotherapy training, which I am pursuing. Previous families report to have found the experience of hosting an observer uniquely rewarding, therapeutic and enriching: a chance to notice more of the small details of their child's early life.
If this interests you, or you know someone who might be interested, please contact me at: [gvinto01@student.bbk.ac.uk](mailto:gvinto01@student.bbk.ac.uk) for more information or message me on here! There would of course be no commitment until you had all the details you needed, including a chance to meet with me beforehand if you would prefer.
Any arrangement would be subject to approval by the British Psychotherapy Foundation who would also be able to provide a reference to any interested families. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Thank you!

I’m a student from France. Do you think it’s worth doing the MSc in Economics & Finance at KCL with a view to working in London afterwards? Or is it too long and/or difficult to find a job in London as a foreigner, even if you’re from the EU? I have technical skills such as economic analysis and computer programming (R and Python), but I haven’t done an internship yet. I should point out that the only thing that matters to me is the career prospects, particularly as the programme fees represent a significant expense on top of the cost of living in London. Thanks!
