Hi everyone! I'm a US applicant planning to apply to LSE for Fall 2027 entry. LSE is my top choice, and I'd really appreciate some realistic opinions on my chances, particularly from current students or alumni of these programmes
Programmes:
- MSc Management
- MSc Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation (MISDI)
Other Universities I'm Considering:
- Imperial College London
- University College London (UCL)
- London Business School (LBS)
- University of Washington
Academics:
- University of California, Berkeley (graduated May 2025)
- Double major in economics and econ-related discipline
- Approximately 3.2/4.0 GPA
- Relevant coursework in econometrics, data science, economics, international business, and technology/political economy
- GRE: Not taken yet. Currently preparing and aiming for 320–325+
Professional Experience:
- Currently working as an Onboarding & Implementation Project Manager at a B2B SaaS/InsurTech startup, managing end-to-end software implementations, cross-functional technical teams, and client relationships.
- Previously worked at Airtable in contract compliance and data analytics, including AI-output auditing and data quality.
- Finance & Accounting internship at One Medical (Amazon), working with FP&A, financial reporting, and cross-functional teams.
- Earlier experience in accounting, tax preparation, and bookkeeping.
- Currently pursuing PMP certification (expected February 2027).
Research & Extracurriculars:
- Led an undergraduate econometrics research project examining transportation infrastructure and tourism growth in Japan, using R, Stata, and Difference-in-Differences modeling.
- Conducted environmental justice research analyzing air quality trends in San Francisco, using statistical analysis and regression modeling.
My biggest concern is my 3.22 undergraduate GPA. I know LSE is extremely competitive, and I'm unsure how much weight admissions places on academic performance versus professional experience, especially for management-related programmes.
I've gained substantial experience in AI management and implementation at my job. I'm also debating whether to delay my application to take the GRE. I'm aiming for a 320-325+ score, but since LSE uses rolling admissions, I'm worried about waiting until December and potentially hurting my chances by applying later.
Questions:
- Realistically, how competitive would my profile be for either programme, particularly with my GPA?
- Would a GRE score of 320-325+ meaningfully strengthen my application, or would it be better to apply earlier without one (if permitted)?
- Does my professional experience help offset my GPA, or is LSE primarily academically focused?
- Would you consider either of these programmes a realistic target, or are both reaches?
I'd really appreciate candid feedback, especially from anyone who has applied with a similar academic background. Thank you! :))
