My journaling progression

Hi, everyone. Today I decided to do an Outlander spread, since I just finished the last season, and remembered the first journal spread I did in a more creative way was outlander themed as well, almost two years ago, so I wanted to compare both spreads.

I think i've gotten much more comfortable using different textures, and even did my own illustrations.

Writing to let off steam. Now I have more steam.

I started journaling because I had too much going on in my head. Somewhere along the way, I put together a guided journal and published it.

I’m glad I did. I’m just awkward about telling people it exists. I overthink a few sentences, get annoyed, then wonder why I’ve turned a simple post into a whole afternoon.

Today I wanted to write something to clear my head. Instead, I spent ages deciding what to say and where to put it. Very relaxing. Would recommend.
When you’re tired and irritated, do you just dump everything on the page, or do you need a question to get you started?

My current prompt is: “What the hell is bothering me?” Apparently, “everything” needs a little more detail.

Free week-long test of reflective journaling prompts (PDF plus short anonymous form). Looking for 10 adults who journal or are curious about it :)

I’m developing a set of journaling sessions and I’d like honest feedback before I take it any further. I wanted something for the kind of person who finds blank pages and “become your best self” workbooks a bit much. These sessions are quiet, a little dry, and mostly just ask good questions. Some take two minutes, some fifteen. There’s a light one for evenings you’ve had a day, a longer one for slow Sunday mornings, and one optional session that looks at the people who mildly irritate us and what that might say, if anything.

I developed the first drafts with the help of AI and I’ve been editing them myself, so I’m especially curious whether they feel written by a person, or like someone trying to cheer you up.

What I’m asking: use the PDF over about a week, whenever you feel like it, and skip whatever doesn’t appeal. Write on paper if you like. I never see what you write. Then fill in a short anonymous form (no name or email, about ten minutes). The form asks which lines made you smile or wince, whether anything felt repetitive or like homework, and whether you’d want it in print.

The PDF is linked at the top of the form: https://forms.gle/VMB1MEUnxp9FLUHm7. It’s free, nothing is being sold, and there’s no signup.

Content note: one optional session is slightly more introspective. It’s marked, and you can skip it.
