Restaurant recommendations, places to stay, areas to live, parking help, airport information, things to do, help from social services, and things like that.

Worked some more on the Ftn Sqr flyers - I took someone's advice and chose to do flyers for different business categories. Would like to get rid of parentheses but also want a way to indicate what each business provides. Once the general design is finalized I can start work on other categories

Sam’s Square Pie closed?
Apple Maps is showing it permanently closed and Google Maps says temporarily closed. I can’t find anything mentioning its closing, either here or in the IndyStar. What’s going on? I was all psyched for some Detroit-style pizza!

Airport parking
Why is the Indianapolis airport parking garage almost always full? Is it due to construction? If so, does anyone know when that should be completed?

Politics State Constitutional Amendment 1 on the ballot
If you haven't yet, please take a few minutes to research issue 1 and its implications before heading to the booth in the next couple weeks. I just learned about this tonight. I can't believe I haven't seen more talk of this attempt to change the state constitution.

AskIndy Parking at Bottleworks
I went to the living room to see a movie a couple weeks ago and they always validate parking. Bottleworks has a new parking system that still charged me after I scanned my validation. I got charged 10.99 to park for 2 hours and wanted to know if this was user error or if other people are having the same issue with their new system?
I’ve tried to submit for a refund but ParkWhiz is the worse and nobody from the theater has returned my call to help.

I will miss Indy a little
My parents lived in Speedway for 40+ years. Mom died during covid, and dad died last month. (He was 90 and ready, and we had lots of time to say goodbye.) I live far away, and I don't know that I'll have occasion to return unless there's a wrinkle in selling his house.
People in Indy are generally very nice. You have a great children's museum, great zoo, world-class speedway, and people from a surprising variety of countries. My dad was in the VA hospital a lot, and his care was uniformly excellent. The airport is B+ at least. You can get absolutely wonder food all over town.
I hope you appreciate what you've done building your community. Thanks for your hospitality.

Helping Others After learning about Magdalena closing I decided to start woking on a flyer encouraging support for Fountain Square businesses. Definitely needs design work and more places added as well, but I wanted to put a rough draft out there for anyone who might be interested in posting something like this.

Recommendations for someone who can haul big branches away
See the title. I just had someone cut a bunch of branches from my trees and they don’t have a big enough car to haul the branches away. Looking for recommendations

Recommendation: Go See Mick Skylark this weekend
We have never gone to anything Heartland Film Festival and wanted to see what it was like. Picked Mick Skylark out and it was pretty darn hilarious. If you are looking for something to do, go check it out this weekend. This is the world premiere here in Indy. At our showing the theater was relatively empty and that's a shame. It is an old school stupid comedy that doesn't seem to come around often anymore. Would recommend giving it a shot if you are into that kind of thing.

AskIndy Junior League Holiday Mart at State Fair
My friend is considering selling at this event and was wondering if it is a busy/popular event. I hadn’t heard of it so I thought we could ask the people of Reddit

Does anyone know when the water clock at the Children's Museum is supposed to be working again?
I had hyped it up to my kid, but the website says it's been under repairs since early 2024.

Helping Others More cats in need of homes!
Hi! I posted here about a month ago looking for a home for one of my community cats, Kenny. I had a couple people reach out and Kenny is now thriving in his forever home!
Since that went well, I’d like to find homes for the remaining cats. They have all been TNRed (includes spay/neuter, rabies & FVRCP vaccines, and flea treatment)
My priority is to find a home for josephine. I believe she was dumped, she showed up with an eartip and a flea collar. She didn’t look to be in good health. Her teeth were in really bad condition, likely preventing her from eating and causing significant weight loss. She’s currently getting dental surgery at indyhumane (thanks to indy neighborhood cats!). She will most likely have all of her teeth removed and I’m very concerned about her being outside while recovering from this surgery and her ability to eat and protect herself. She’s a very sweet girl, she gets along well with other cats.
Next is Maxine, she showed up very skinny and without an eartip (i also believe she was dumped). We got her TNRed and she was estimated to be 5 years old. She’s very vocal and outgoing! (I misplaced her vet records but can probably request them from Indy Humane)
Next is Cinnamon, he’s about 2 years old and also very friendly. He does like to pick on other cats though. I have his vet records.
Next are Charli and Caramel. They’re about 7-8 months old and are sisters. They are a little bit shy but they’re so sweet. I have their vet records.
I’d like to find homes for all these babies before it gets cold. If you’re interested or can help in any way please reach out!

What’s going on at invoke?
Less class offerings, instructors leaving, and their Google reviews are turned off right now for “suspicious high-rated reviews.” Sad to see the best yoga studio in Indy going downhill :(

Looking for a contractor for Kitchen & around the house updates
Hey all, I’m looking for a contractor to handle a kitchen update and a couple other projects. I would love to hear experiences of the people/contractors youve used. Details of the work I need are below, and if someone can handle it all, that will be great, if it should be multiple contractors, thats fine too:
Kitchen
- Replace 30" stove with a 36" induction (cabinet/backsplash changes and a 240V circuit as needed)
- Ducted range hood, vented outside (none now)
- Replace dishwasher
- Add pantry cabinet, need to be color accurate with current cabinets
- Add pendant lights over the island (none now)
Rest of house
- Replace front door
- Convert bathroom door to a barn door
- Open a new doorway to expand the master bedroom closet into an adjacent bedroom (plus closet racking if you offer it)
- Run a few network cabling from basement to attic, 2 story home. (cameras/home network)
If theres photos of their past work, that would be much appreciated. Hoping to get my answers here. Thanks

Does anyone happen to know the names of the openers for Jordan Jensen at Helium yesterday?

Food and Drink Food for Your Bang for Your Buck
I've been here for half a year. But I haven't found many places with big portions, low prices, and good flavors, likely because I don't know many people. Help me build my list of to-go places within or close to the 465. Surprise me and thank you!
*No more cafes. My bank account hurts.
