Advice Dare I say, I might be THE most stressed IB student atp

• Upvotes

Sorry for being dramatic guys, but please hear me out because I’m absolutely drowning.

I’m in a November school is the final exam is literally 10 days away, starting with bio HL💀THE most content heavy subject for me.

At the same time, I need to complete my Early Application for a T5 school in US. This one is my absolute dream school and insanely selective, so I have to put in real effort for the essays, activity list and everything. The deadline is 5 days into final.

Also, I’m applying to a top school in my country because it’s my best safe school. And it’s nothing like a simple submission of predicted grades, but basically a mini common app plus a video submission. The deadline is 9 days into final.

I did UCAS early for Oxford as well, which took up a lot of my time until my submission a few days ago.

And the last stray is scholarship. I got an email yesterday that, between now and final, I have to prepare a 10-min academic presentation as part of the interview (which determines whether or not I get a full-ride scholarship with generous stipends💵). The interview takes place on 11/7, which is again right in the middle of IB FINAL.
The interviewers are know to be very harsh, who bombard students with academic and personal questions from every possible angle😱😱 (the classic stress testing)
But the worst thing is that the whole interview, including the presentation, is gonna be conducted in my third language. For some context, I’ve only started learning this language as B SL since IB started😭

As you can see, this is how bad it is… I just don’t understand why do all deadlines have to collide????
Final is hard enough on itself🤯

If anyone has been in this place before, please please tell me how you survived this hell. Thank you.

Group 4 Under Confidence

I am in DP2, taking physics sl. I've posted stuff about feeling demotivated in physics so many times, but it feels like it's getting worse. Everyday, I feel like I'm losing confidence and hope in myself. I look at past papers and my mind is blank. The questions don't make sense. Everything just feels complicated.

I know most of it is my fault because I don't revise out of class, but I just can't find the motivation or interest to study this stupid subject. I hate it so much. I don't know what to do because obviously I want to pass. Someone help me please.

Advice Need help for M27 EXTERNALS

Hello! I need some advice on how to study for the May 2027 IB externals. I’m not the type of student who can fully retain a topic after it’s been taught in class, so I often find myself forgetting concepts after a test especially in Maths AA. I’m starting to feel really worried and discouraged about my performance in the actual externals since i think i’d have to start all the way to dp1 lessons. For those who have experienced something similar, how did you study and revise throughout the remaining months? How early did you start preparing, and how did you balance reviewing old topics with learning new ones? I’d really appreciate any advice, study techniques, or realistic tips.

May 2026 Exams What top schools celebrate high IB scorers on IG?

I wanted to look at IG posts from schools where they celebrate high IB scoring candidates online, so I can suggest to the school where I work that this might be good for marketing. Do you know any schools that do this? It flooded my timeline when IB scores came out, but all I remember is vague. Like Asia…the Middle East…Spain…India. Can anyone help me?

PSYCH P1SC AND P2SB

I have been averaging a 6 pretty consitently in psych and am looking for advice on how to get it up to a 7. P1SA and B as well as P2SA are not issues for me at all and on exams I usually get 7s on those sections my issue is with the concepts in section C and section B. I don’t understand how to format the easays what to talk about and how to study for it so if someone could give some advice I would be very grateful.

Hey guys!!! I was hoping someone could explain Language A papers and the oral?? Because my teacher is absolutely useless and hasn’t explained anything, I’m M27.

What I have understood from previous generations is you can essentialy memorise p2 and the oral but if someone could explain how to do that I would be very grateful!!!

University Admissions Questions [EU(not UK)] How do you apply to uni? [EU]

Dp2, havent received any sort of predicteds yet... Is it okay to apply with your final grades instead? I have 0 experience with universities, my parents never even passed high school, so i can't go to anyone for guidance. i know my predicteds will be terrible bc of burnout, so i'm really nervous about what I can do.. I'm just hoping for a pass at this point, but I don't think that opens any doors for me.

Also, I am planning to go into a chem or psychology field, I haven't really decided yet..

This feels more like a vent post than anything, but i'd really like to receive some advice. (My school department is also incredibly unhelpful)

Group 4 Chemistry IA structure

My teacher hasn't been exactly... helpful when doing the chemistry IA. I've got some ideas on what I have to write, but I still don't want to miss anything.

I've only seen one post about the structure to follow in the chemistry IA, but it's from 7 years ago, so I don't know if it's up to date.

Does anyone have a structure to follow or a list of items that have to go into the IA?

Any ideas or tips are appreciated!!

Advice Panicking over DP2 results for my son, Physics at 3 and Math HL at 4, need urgent help before it is too late.

My son just started DP2 and honestly, his predicted grades came back a bit of a shocker. He is sitting at a 3 in Physics and a 4 in Math HL. He is completely stressed out trying to balance internal assessments, university applications, and keeping up with the syllabus, and I can see his confidence hitting rock bottom.

School support just isn't cutting it right now because teachers are rushing to finish the curriculum before mocks. We have been looking into external options, but with so many places focusing on packed group classes where kids just get lost in the crowd, it is hard to know who actually delivers results.

Are there other good IB tutoring options in Sharjah/Dubai or online that parents here have tried for DP2 HL subjects? What worked for your child to push those grades up in a short amount of time? Did one-on-one private tutoring make a real difference for your kid's final exams?

ToK/EE Please I need Help for EE

I wanted to do my EE in business but my school denied dye to teacher unavailability and made me choose Maths (AI). I am highly confused on what to do in maths, and many people say not to do it becuase it's hard to get good points.

My other only options are German B ( which I am at level b1) or English (I am not good at literary analysis but).

Please I need help on whether I should keep maths or what?

Other I think IB literally rewired my brain

I graduated IB last year, and I'm currently a first year in university. I had midterms last week, and I had a relatively light workload this week, to the point that I actually had a considerable amount of free time. However, I continuously felt extremely anxious and stressed, to the point that I literally started shaking while I was doing literally nothing. Finally, I just now sat down and started typing for a homework assignment, and it straight up stopped.

Is it now wired into me to feel anxious whenever I'm not actively doing work or studying? Like doing work calms me down??? I never would've felt like this before IB. Like I unironically think IB has rewired me to always be anxious about homework, even when I don't even have any.

Advice Struggling with non-technical subjects

Hey guys, im M27 with 7s in Math AA HL, Physics HL, technical subjects where everything is quite clear to me - I see the task, I visualize the solution, use a formula that I can derive if needed, and I solve something. And I can immediately tell the amount of marks I will get - If the solution is logical, step by step, and correct, its a full mark, its quite easy. If I can't solve something - I revise the topic, make sure I understand it and that I am able to utilize the formulas, and I get a 7. But I also take History HL and English A Lit SL. And thats where the issues start, because despite getting 6s in boths subjects, I can not see the way I can work with them to reliably improve my score - it comes down either to "memorizing stuff" quite blindly, or trying to follow a structure I can't quite get. So do you guys have any advice how to work with those subjects in general? P2/P3 in history and P1/P2 in English. With P1 in history its easier because its quite straightforward with the structure, but P2 is the death of me

Does anyone have advice on the best ways to study for these subjects. I'm currently a DP2 student and need some advice on how to tackle this. it feels like no matter how confident i feel with the concepts, the questions i get in tests are so much harder than the ones i get in my practise sites.

Resource Request Business question bank

The question banks don't seem to be working on IBDocs, and the one on Pirate IB is out of date for business (last exams 2023). Does anyone have a link to currently working Business question banks for 2024+?
