The convenience of a Leatherman becomes irrelevant as soon as you try to do real work with one.

Pic unrelated.

Bought this to make a wave mod on a pocket knife and now im curious what else there is to mod with this stuff. Maybe modding old pocketknives into fixedblades? Combining multitool parts? What have you guys done with it?

First pic is on body, second is back-up truck stash.
Two is one. One is none. lol
I have been carrying my titanium key setup for a couple weeks now and I absolutely love it. The feel and looks are phenomenal. We all know it’s probably way overkill to carry titanium gear, but looking cool is half the battle. I ordered a ridge stone wash titanium wallet to replace the magpul daka, and I’m looking at a set of flytanium scales for the pm2 (not the tanto). I’m curious what your opinions are on the timex expedition north titanium and also what titanium lights you recommend.

Question/Advice/Discussion Does anybody know a flashlight like this that attaches to the *side* of cap?

I'm looking for a flashlight (or headlamp for that matter) to attach to the side of my cap. You can find plenty of lights that attach to the front of the brim, either below or above. But im specifically looking for a small light that attaches to the side.

New Addition A Few Months With the Hacksmith Ultra Pro Spiffy Knife – My Review

I was yelled at by the auto bots this review is for the The Smith Blade (21-in-1 Titanium Multi-Tool)

After a couple of months carrying and using the Hacksmith Ultra Pro Spiffy Knife, I figured I'd share my thoughts.

Overall craftsmanship: Absolutely fantastic.

I have zero complaints about the build quality. The knife feels solid, well-made, and generally like a quality piece of equipment. Granted, I haven't put it through any serious abuse, but I've been using it for the usual day-to-day tasks you'd expect from a pocket knife, and it's held up great.

Now, let's talk about all those advertised "multi-tool" features. I'd argue that about half of them could be dropped.

The Good, the Bad, and the Gimmicky

The Blade: An absolute beefcake. It's solid, no complaints here.

Bubble Level: Cute, but why? If something only needs to be roughly level, I can eyeball it. If I'm doing something where level actually matters—welding, building forms, construction, etc.—I'm going to have a proper level for that job. I genuinely can't think of a situation where I'd need this tiny bubble level.

Protractor: I can see someone finding it useful, just not me personally. It does make a pretty cool fidget spinner, though.

Nail File: Surprisingly useful! I've actually found myself using this far more often than I expected.

Bits and Bit Retention: The retention system is excellent. Zero issues there. The actual selection of bits, though? That's another story.

  • Pen: Cute idea, but realistically, how long is that tiny thing going to last? A couple of days? I have enough pens lying around that I wouldn't dedicate valuable tool space to one.
  • SIM Card Tool / Awl: How often are you removing SIM cards? Oh, wait, it's also an awl. Sure, but if I'm sewing something, I'm going to need thread anyway, which means I'll probably have a sewing kit nearby.

Personally, I'd replace these with a couple of Torx bits or something else that's more practical for everyday use.

Tweezers: Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Whoever decided to include these deserves a raise.

Wire Strippers: Actually useful! I've used them more than a few times already.

Ruler: Handy for figuring out whether some random thingamwhatsit is metric or imperial, or just getting a rough measurement when needed.

Bottle Opener: It's a bottle opener. It opens bottles. So does just about any hard edge or surface if you're determined enough.

Staple Remover: This one surprised me. I regularly receive shipments secured with those big copper staples, and this feature has actually proven useful when opening boxes.

Night Light Stick: Another cute addition, but it only illuminates one side. And realistically, if I'm using a knife in the dark, I'm probably going to have a flashlight anyway.

Fire Striker: Haven't used it yet, so the jury's still out. That said, this isn't exactly a bushcraft knife, and I doubt I'll ever find much use for it.

Scribe / Window Breaker: Works well for scratching or scribing a mark into something. No complaints.

Belt Clip: Apparently, having a belt clip counts as a feature now? Seems like a strange thing to advertise separately on a pocket knife.

90° and Straight Bit Holders: I also find it a little odd that these are counted as separate features. Sure, having both orientations is nice, but at the end of the day, it's still a bit holder regardless of which direction it's pointing.

Final Verdict

Here's where I land after a couple of months:

If you bought this expecting an amazing multi-tool for the price, you're probably going to be disappointed.

There are some genuinely useful additions, but a good chunk of the advertised features feel more like gimmicks added to inflate the feature count than tools you'll regularly reach for.

However, if you bought it because you wanted a solid M390 pocket knife with some bonus functionality, I think you'll be pretty happy.

The craftsmanship is excellent, the blade is fantastic, and several of the extras are genuinely handy. I just wouldn't let the massive list of "features" be the deciding factor in buying one.

Buy it for the knife. Treat the multi-tool features as bonuses.

Question/Advice/Discussion How is the build quality over time with these Roxon’s? I like the idea of switching out the tools. but I can also see how that could create a failure point in the durability. (ROXON S503G Flex Companion)
