Please help ! I bought pumpkins and put them outside , squirrels started taking bites so I brought them in the house and before I knew it the pumpkin started to rot . A few days later I noticed a smell but the pumpkin looked solid but when I went to pick it up it collapsed and the most putrid smelling liquid spilled out all over onto my hardwood floors . My house a week later STILL smells like dead animals . I can’t take it anymore 😩 if anyone can please offer suggestions of what will get this smell out of the floors !! Thank you !!
Also I have tried , baking soda carpet deodorizer left on the floor for over 24 hours , mopped multiple times with pine sol .vinegar . Bioda enzyme floor cleaner …nothing is working

Bathroom Help with cleaning unknown stain on bathtub

Post image

I genuinely have no clue what caused this stain. The only guess I have is I used Circroplox shampoo because that accidentally squirted and I didn’t clean it enough in time (I tried to recreate it but couldn’t). How do I get this off? Feel so stressed by this

Furniture Faux leather stuck to wood veneer?

I’m cleaning out my nightstand drawer, which admittedly has not been deep cleaned in a while. A lot of this stuff just sits there. I noticed this faux leather pouch was stuck to the wood. I already peeled it off slowly, before seeing online that I probably should have applied some heat first? Of course the discoloration won’t go away, but how should I go about cleaning this?

Laundry ‘Dry Clean Only’ question

• Upvotes

I just bought a skirt from Goodwill for a Halloween costume. I brought it home then realized it said dry clean only on it. How seriously do I have to take that? I don’t want to spend anymore money on this costume to wear it once. I also don’t care about it that much but still need it wearable. Is there anyway to wash it at home? I definitely want to wash it before wearing it.

It’s a Brooks Brother skirt. The tag says 100% wool, 55% rayon, 45% polyester. The outside looks wool and the lining is probably the rayon.

Thanks for any tips!

Kitchen How can I clean the bottom of these pans

Post image

This is from the Paris Hilton collection of pots and pans they are ceramic nonstick. I just wanna know how to get rid of this brown dingy look off of the pans. What kind of product can I use? That is non-abrasive. I’ve already tried using baking soda and vinegar and dawn dish soap and soak them along with something called the pink stuff and I used a sponge and absolutely nothing came off. It was a complete waste of time. This was a tip that somebody else gave me and it did absolutely nothing.

There was food residue on it so I scrubbed it with a disinfecting wipe. The next day there was brown stuff which I thought was also food residue so I scrubbed it more. Is it rust? Should I just buy a new one?

Kitchen Why does my dishwasher leave food residue on dishes

Just moved into a new apartment and the dishwasher keeps leaving residue on at least one or two items in every run. Typically a bowl or cup in the top rack. I cleaned the filter and ran a vinegar cycle, but the residue still shows up.

What is causing this and what can I do to prevent it from happening in the future? I use a dishwashing powder if that could be part of the reason?

Bathroom What do I use to clean this purple stain on my shower

There’s this purple stuff on my shower, and I don’t how to get rid of it. I didn’t really know what it was at first, but for the past couple of weeks I’ve been assuming it’s from my shower curtain. I replaced my shower curtain a couple weeks ago as well, and the purple stuff is still on my shower. I’ve tried to clean a couple of times but it didn’t wash off. The purple stuff has no texture, it’s more like a stain and I want to get rid of it if possible, because it’s just stresses me out at this point.

Laundry Laundry Advice, Please!

So, I work in a hospital (note: I have OCD and as a result have bouts of germaphobia ESPECIALLY after stressful weeks) and recently bought bleach for when I want my clothes extra clean.

Anyway, I wash washing some bedding (sheets, blankets, pillowcase, some stuffed animals) and decided to use a little bleach (as in less than a fluid ounce) to get them really clean. I had just put a little bleach into the liquid bleach compartment (about a fluid ounce or less) and a few drops (four or five, six max) fell into the wash. They landed on a sheet, and I started the washer immediately to try and get the bleach off.

Is this going to ruin the whole load? Tips/advice please!

Discussion Help! I can't seem to get the smell out of my kids room!

A few years ago my family went on an extended trip out of state for the summer and when we came back our house was infested with mice. It took a few months but we were able to get rid of them. On top of that. Our cats, instead of hunting them, pooped and sprayed where they smelled them. The house was disgusting. We managed to get the smell out of everywhere else by replacing our furniture and carpeting. But our kids room where the worst of it was doesn't seem to stop stinking. They have not been allowed in there for a few years.( We live near my mom and dad so they mostly stay with them at night) We've tore out the carpeting and gotten rid of everything except the metal loft bed frame and an old wooden vanity. We want to start putting new flooring in soon so they can go back into their room. But we want to try and get the smell gone first. We've cleaned everything as best we can but it still stinks and I really don't know what to do. We've scrubbed the walls, sanded the floors, wiped down everything and sprayed with an enzyme cleaner. It smells better in there for a day or so and then starts stinking again. Does anybody have any ideas as to what I can do to get the smell out?

Flooring How can I remove these stains from my camper’s laminate flooring? Is it even possible.

I went to clean behind my bookshelf and noticed these gross black, green, and grey stains in the corner. It’s probably from a leak, because it has been raining non stop the last few days. I tried to clean it with Lysol wipes, and it didn’t work. I tried bleach, and it didn’t work. I tried vinegar, and it didn’t work.

Is there anyway to remove the stains? Or is it just permanently messed up?

Discussion Rental terrible odour

Moved into a rental few months ago after selling my house. It’s a budget rental and I saw the absolute deplorable condition the former tenants left it before moving in but I was reassured it would be cleaned up by management. I took it as a temporary interim place.

After we moved in even as the movers brought in the furniture the house started giving off an offensive smell.
I complained to management and the handyman came to check. He told me they didn’t change the flooring it’s laminate flooring. The manager came to inspect and told me she couldn’t smell anything and if I wanted to I could change the flooring.

The smell is so bad that all our clothes, shoes furniture has taken on the smell of the house. I don’t know if they had pets but the living room has a stall vile smell mixed in with cigarette smoke.
When it gets hot the smell oozes from the walls and flooring and fills the air.

I had to purchase an ozone generator and ran it for an hour then aired the house. It seemed to kill the smell but a week later the smell still rises.

I am absolutely miserable and if I could I would move out today. But for now I have no choice than to stay at least till next year.
I even had to get the vents professionally cleaned by a company and paid out of pocket. They told me it’s never been cleaned the house is maybe 30 years old.

The bathroom walls drip down droplets of brown water when it’s steamy.

I used high efficiency filter for the furnace and have put carbon filters in the vents but the house is just so smelly.
It gets me depressed especially when I go out and catch a whiff of the smell on my clothes. I feel like I smell of the house and feel embarrassed. It’s been a nightmare.

I’ll have to trash my furniture when I move out.

Any tips welcome.

Thanks

However after pro cleaning there were brown spots and I poured gallons of water and sucking it all brown water!

I called the guy he came said possibly water line was mixed with dirty water, he cleaned again. However at night time the brown residue surfaced! I rented a wet vacuum cleaned for 4 hours, and now the brown water is still there and the carpet is not clean! My carpet was never this dirty it was always returning clean water after I had cleaned it..

What could be the issue…?

General Cleaning Castille based dyi all purpose cleaner recipe question

I have a small cleaning business and am interested in making my own cleaner. I make a bucket of water with a splash of cleaner in each home (only clean rags go in the bucket).

All of the castille soap based all purpose cleaner recipes I have come across are for sprays. Do any of you make a concentrate to add to a bucket of water?

My thought would be to mix Castille soap, denatured alcohol and essential oil and just omit the water. Have any of you tried this?

Thank so much in advance!

(Side note, Vinegar is a no go due to marble, limestone, hardwood, etc.

Discussion Help! My dorm room stinks no matter what I do.

The air in my dorm room is always stale, and even worse there are old wooden cabinets which have a very strong odor. I have tried putting in a work request but my school just marked it as completed without doing anything. I have tried putting open boxes of baking soda in all of the cabinets, but I don’t know what else I can do aside from use obnoxious air fresheners to drown out the smell.

Please, please, please tell me this isn’t mold!!!!
These are two air conditioning vents in a house we bought in Dec. ‘25. My husband is convinced it’s just dust… I’m not.
If it is mold, I don’t even know what to do or where to start! The AC is almost always running and keep the house around 72/73, and these vents are closest to the unit. We are in Florida and I know it’s humid, but neither of these are bathrooms.

Laundry Need advice! Can I clean the top part of these uggs at home?

I believe this "wool" is mostly acrylic. I've had these uggs since 2012 and have never cleaned them. Is there a way I can safely clean the top part without ruining them or should I just take them to a dry cleaner?
