I think it's Digger but that might be recency bias.

I rewatched Begin Again today after almost three years, and man, I forgot how much I love this movie. The emotions, the music, the whole vibe of it everything just hits differently. There’s something so comforting about how the movie portrays heartbreak, finding yourself again, and how music can bring people together without making everything feel overly dramatic.
I especially love how it reminds you that sometimes life doesn't have to work out the way you originally planned for you to find something beautiful in it. The movie has this quiet, bittersweet charm that stays with you even after the credits roll.
I'd love to know what you guys think of Begin Again. Do you love it as much as I do, or am I just emotionally attached to this movie?
Also, please recommend me some movies with a similar vibe good music, bittersweet emotions, beautiful storytelling, and that feeling of finding yourself again. Would love to discover something that makes me feel the way Begin Again does.

It’s not just one of the best endings of a 70’s movie, it’s one of the best endings seen onscreen. Complexity and subterfuge played out to an inexorable end. Martin Sheen oozes skeezy sleaze playing a guy with “short eyes” whose own hubris leads to his demise which is chilling portrayed entirely offscreen. By the time the camera gets to Jodie Foster’s impassive face with the fire behind her, we realize the hideous thing inside her has been masquerading as a human being this whole time.

Mine is Jason Isaacs. He actually stumped me once. I thought for sure in the movie the Tuxedo with Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt the ending would have this reveal where he was actually the bad guy and I was gonna be like "Yeah I already seen it coming." But he actually wasn't the bad guy and played an actually nice character. That was the biggest shock to me.

there were some dots on the screen at the start and they had to stop and we lost 5 minutes or so while they reset the screen. Also when the film finished the Q&A simply did not connect, I waited 5-10 min before I left so idk if it ever connected. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Other than that I thought it was an interesting thought provoking documentary

I know Longlegs eventually went into the paranormal, but I really liked the first part, where the detective was investigating the case and analyzing the only clue: the girls were dying on their ninth birthdays. Can you recommend more movies like that? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I see people will praise acting in one movie, or praise a specific actor for being really good, or vice versa but
How do I tell? For example I'd say that the guy who played Obi Wan Kenobi in star wars prequels did s bad job but how do I know if it's the actor who was bad or if it was the script and the direction and stuff?
Many people will tell you that Jack Sparrow had a good actor and I'm inclined to agree but if you pressed me I couldn't give you one argument why that is. And if he did do a good job how do I know it was him and not the script etc.?
How do I judge acting????

Proposing this as the Barbenheimer of 2026 and not Dunesday or whatever
You Can See Everything + Street Fighter + Whalefall + Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother
An entire day at the movies. What do y’all want to see first? I’m thinking Whalefall first and then Your Mother, then You Can See Everything, and then wash it all down with the dumb fun of Street Fighter.
It’s a great weekend at the movies.

Go see it.
Honestly, just freaking go see it.
Hate it or love it, we NEED more movies like this and less Brad Pitt with dog.
Im seeing it again this weekend, and will probably buy 2 tickets for myself just as a F you to every Critic who panned this film.
The more I think about it, remember the details and humor...the cleverness of the narrative format. It all just works so SO well. Every criticism ive seen of the film is completely nulled by...the actual story of the film.
And, um, yea, Mr. Cruise, wow, yea...just go see it, before its gone...

I truly am at a loss for words. Nathan has done it again. A true stroke of genius. A sicko meets his match.
I’m stunned. Was that real? Am I real?
Go. See it as soon as physically possible. Open your eyes.
You can see everything, are you ready?

To put it very very simply, Digger is a “weird” movie, it is absolutely not for everyone. That being said Inarritu & Tom Cruise made something special for cinema, it’s just so unique & separate from other films. It’s like a willy-wonka esque fever dream about billionaires & political tyrants in the modern age.
And as much as people don’t like Tom Cruise for science reasons, he’s the reason why DIGGER works so well.
All I'm saying is, I'm glad this movie exists. It's strange, ambitious, and completely its own thing. That's the kind of art I can appreciate.
