... construction is getting on my last nerve. Anyone know when they're projected to be complete? I thought this fall, but idk where I heard that. Also, what is up with Telfair...? They been working on that a long time and have those big round orange white "traffic barrels" all over the place.

Anyway, still worth it to go get a fresh baked pop-tart at New Moon Cafe. Go try one if you haven't. I'm not affiliated with them, lol, i just like em a lot and everything I've had there is delicious. But good luck locating the sidewalk, don't get whacked by a vehicle or construction truck 😭

Question Opinions on Gerald Jones Honda

I'm looking to buy a Certified Pre-owned Accord/Civic/CR-V. My budget is between 10k - 15k. Going to visit Gerald Jones on Washington Rd. Wondering if anyone had any experience/opinions on them. Appreciate your input!!

EDIT: OK, since there are so many bad experiences with Gerald Jones, can anyone recommend any good Honda/Toyota dealers in the Augusta/Aiken area? Thank you again. You've all been a huge help!

Saw this fly over Augusta around 6:30am near Ft Gordon. Not sure what it was, but it stayed lit for quite a while - maybe a flare or a rocket?

Been living in Augusta for about a year and my 2015 Subaru Forester with 140k miles is starting to need some larger repairs (including CVT work). Can anyone recommend any reputable mechanics that have experience with Subarus?

Question Unmarked cars

Is it me or am I the only one that notices a lot more just regular tahoes/fords etc. with guys driving wearing some sort of uniform like not local law enforcement? That and they’ll have regular plates from Ga but I’ll notice they have the police lights right next to the plates. Over the past month and a half I’ve been mostly driving around for work in Evans area and Appling/Harlem area and have noticed tahoes that look completely civilian, but then the person driving has some sort of law enforcement uniform but no lights (at least on the outside of their car). Just today I was on Washington rd and I see a Tahoe behind me but no indication of it being law enforcement but the two dudes sitting in it had on tactical vests that were greenish. One can assume these are Feds so it makes me wonder if it’s HSI or ICE of some sort. Just thought I’d ask and see if someone knows anything about it because I have noticed it more. And it’s also been just in general I’ve seen more blacked out SUV types with lights on them going into neighborhoods and just riding around.

Question Help finding hairstylist

Hi does anyone know where I can find a good hairstylist that can turn brown hair like a white cool-toned platinum? I’ve tried different hairstylists before and most of the time it comes out yellow even though my hair is already a light brown. The only time someone did it in a way I like it was in Jacksonville Florida :(. So any recs?

Moving to Augusta Rivershyre Neighborhood

Moving to Evans, GA… is Rivershyre a good, family friendly neighborhood? We want a good fit for kids. We homeschool too! Nice size house in Rivershyre or small house in Riverwood Plantation? We both work from home as well. Thank you! ☺️

Business / Self Promotion New local business (mod-approved)

Hey all, we are a family trying to get our little home farm going. I recently started a Facebook page for it, called Nall’s Hill mini farms. Just a tiny bit about us, we have been in the Augusta area our whole lives, with parents and grandparents before us. We actually live in a house my great grandparents built in 1925. We love Augusta, and love seeing it grow and improve.

A little about our business, we currently have farm fresh rainbow eggs for sale $4/dozen and Serama chicks $15/each. We will eventually have button quail also, those eggs will start incubating in 2 days, and I plan on trying to include everyone on their hatching journey through the Facebook page. We are also currently raising Malaysian/extreme Seramas and Ayem cemani with the intention of selling chicks once they start laying. We currently have goats, but they are just our pasture pets, though we are considering selling goats and/or goat milk in the future. If you’d like to buy some eggs, or even just support us with a follow, we would love to hear from you! You can message me here or find us on Facebook.
Thank you!

Business / Self Promotion New Subreddit for Augusta women looking to make friends!

Hi all, u/ImaginaryAd1383 made a post yesterday about moving to Augusta recently and having trouble meeting and making new female friends. We decided to create r/AugustaLadiesClub as I, 30s F, have also moved to Augusta recently and share the same sentiment!

The idea for Augusta Ladies Club came from me running a similar subreddit for women in my home state. We'd meet for hikes and coffee, there was a book club and I know some ladies have even met up for game nights. I've been wanting to create a similar community here as I don't know anybody.

The subreddit is private and for women only at this time as we want to cultivate a safe environment. Please be respectful of that!

We are also looking for more mods, so please DM me if you are interested!

Question Augusta University Parking

How strict is Augusta University parking?

I stopped by the Forest Hills campus today to use the bathroom for less than 30 minutes (enough time to claim, I’m a visitor)

Do I have to worry about getting a ticket? I live in the Augusta community, however I am not enrolled as a student.

Business / Self Promotion Job Searching

I thought to post here in my search- is anybody hiring? I have years of administrative assistance/support, customer service, turnkey/reno services, management, data entry, scheduling, quality assurance, and some background in plant/manufacturing. I’d prefer not to go into another management position truthfully, but I’m open to anything- staying in my current field, completely switching careers, or even just serving for a while. (Preferably morning shifts, minimum $17-18 an hour, which is not applicable to serving/waiting table jobs of course.)
I love people, animals, the outdoors, being crafty/resourceful and to keep busy. I have an incredible work ethic thanks to my grandfather, I barely call out, most of the time you’ll have to send me home sick before I do so.
I just would love to get away from the current company I work for. While grateful for the opportunities given the last two years, I’m not particularly fond of some of the practices/ideology here, but again I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had for the last two years and wish them the best in their endeavors.

Dining / Where to Eat Best butter chicken in the area?

Hey y’all, I’m a native here, but I haven’t eaten a lot of Indian food before. I’ve heard decent things about some places here, such as the Taj of India and Namaste, though I would appreciate a definitive “best” to dine at, next time I decide to grab Indian with family or friends. I live in Martinez, if that helps.

Things to Do LF : Clubs, Groups, Friends (27F)

Hi!! I moved to Augusta about 2 years ago and really want to branch out, make more friends, partake in things, find more communities in addition to the current friend family I have. I’m an artist- I paint, draw, woodburn, engrave, can pick up just about any craft. I also love to hike, walk, critter search, just be outside in any capacity. I also love animals (I have 6 😅), to cook, play games, go to local shows. I allowed myself to be reclusive since I moved here outside of home rotting with my partner or pals, and my mental health has paid the price for that. but I’d love to try to get back up, ditch screens, get moving, be a part of something. If anybody has suggestions, that’d be great!!

Really love some women-oriented groups as well.
Thank you if anybody takes the time to comment.

Humor / Just for Fun Funny story

I can't sleep and this weather has my mind racing & thinking back to the 2024 storm. First, I would like to say, I was lucky and I'm grateful for that. I had damage but nothing compared to those who suffered devastating loss.

I'm not proud of this, but it is funny. About a week after the storm, I have a lot going on (like most ) and apparently living like a pioneer Woman turned me into one. I could hear my BF talking with someone , I knew it was a salesperson. I was aggravated and stormed over and yelled " Git off my land ,I said git! Do you even have a peddler's license".

yes, I said git instead of get and land instead of property and peddler's license instead of solicitor.

My boyfriend was so embarrassed, he's apologizing to the guy, while I just keep yelling like I'm part of the gold rush. I have no idea why I spoke these old time words.
