TV host Boy Abunda expressed outrage following “walang kwenta” remarks towards Kris Aquino’s eldest son, Josh, by hosts of the podcast “Machong Chismisan.”

“Alam niyo po ang masakit ay ‘yung he was being compared to Bimb. ‘Nakatunganga lamang, walang kwenta.’ And you are talking about a young man with disability. He’s talking about a special boy. Mahal na mahal po si Josh ng pamilyang Aquino… Hindi po walang silbi si Josh. Mali po ang inyong ginawa. Labag sa batas ng Diyos at sa batas ng tao ang inyong ginawa. Napakasakit,” he said in his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday.

He strongly advises his good friend Kris to pursue legal action against the people who ridiculed Josh.

“If Kris would ask me, we haven’t had the chance to speak about this, I would tell her, go to court. Idemanda mo. Dahil ito ay labag sa batas,” he added.

PoliticsPH Prosecution: We saw VP team’s ploy to delay trial

Post image

MANILA, Philippines — The House prosecution panel withdrew three articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte after determining that her defense team allegedly planned to stall or delay her trial, two prosecutors said on Wednesday.

“We have seen through their strategy,” Manila Rep. Joel Chua told reporters. “They will just prolong the process because, to be honest, they have no evidence to present.”

In a surprise announcement on Tuesday, lead prosecutor and Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro said that they have decided to drop three of the four articles of impeachment against Duterte—misuse of confidential funds (Article 1), death threats against President Marcos (Article 4) and bribery (Article 3).

The prosecution rested its case with the unexplained wealth allegation (Article 2) as the sole charge against her.

The Vice President’s alleged undeclared and unexplained wealth, which an expert witness estimated to be at least P817 million and possibly reach P1.5 billion, was the “strongest” case against her, Chua said in a press conference.

“We believe that we have very strong evidence for all the articles, but everyone is saying that this is the weightiest,” he said.

Until public loses interest

Chua told the Inquirer that the objective of the defense was to drag the trial to make the public lose track of the evidence presented by the prosecution and to make the public weary of the protracted proceedings.

“People will forget the evidence we presented. People will lose interest,” he said.

He earlier said that allowing a prolonged defense presentation could stretch Duterte’s trial past year-end, and might run until February 2027.

The impeachment court, through presiding officer Senator-judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero, approved the withdrawals, with the caveat that Articles 1 and 4 could no longer be refiled for the duration of the 20th Congress, or until the end of Duterte’s term in June 2028.

Escudero also lifted the sub judice rule on the charges that were dropped, opening the door for both Duterte and the prosecution to continue arguing over the grave threats and confidential funds outside the Senate impeachment court.

Pictured here are the Filipino Cultist Priests of Naju including Father Gerry Orbos and a group of ethnic Filipino
followers. Some of these followers are members of the Cult of Maria Divine Mercy “Seal of the Living God” a Sedevacantist Catholic Cult and Anti-State “Catholic” schismatic organization.

I am posting this to finally let the truth out because for 7 years I was oppressed spiritually, mentally and physically by this organization that I have every sovereign right even if I’m anonymously doing it to call them out.

Past is past but one thing is for sure I am now free to state my case, state my claim, that all allegations about this organization is real and legitimate.

To whoever cultist who has a reddit account who’s reading this.

NewsPH Latest video footage of the lead ship of the Abukuma-class Destroyer Escorts, JS Abukuma (DD-229). The Philippines is expected to receive this warship soon, as part of the 5 Abukuma-class deal with Japan.

🇯🇵🇵🇭 | Here's the latest video of the JS Abukuma (DE-229), heading in Komatsushimat for a public viewing on 12th. The ship was showcased in Tokushima Prefecture for JS Abukuma's PR event on Monday, for the Japanese people to witness the warship in its remaining days. The JS Abukuma (DD-229) Destroyer Escort will be decommissioned and end its role as a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force vessel in Fiscal Year 2027, and she will be transferred to the Philippine Navy afterward and start a new life as a Philippine Navy warship, as part of the five (5) Abukuma-class Destroyer Escorts for the Philippines from Japan.

Japan is now preparing for the transfer of the five (5) Abukuma-class Destroyer Escorts, specifically the JS Abukuma (DD-229) as they plan to train the Philippine Navy in operations and maintenance of the warships. So aside from the 3rd 2,400-ton Rajah Sulayman-class Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), the future BRP Rajah Humabon PS-22., the Philippine Navy is expected to receive the JS Abukuma (DD-229) Destroyer Escort, soon. Japan and the Republic of Korea, as the country's big brothers, are both helping and assisting the Philippines to boost its defense capabilities, especially for the Philippine Navy.

Seperate from the Abukuma-class Destroyer Escorts, Japan is also offering air and missile defense systems to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, such as the Type 03 Chū SAM.

AI DETECTED ‎We'll be using an AI-generated song for our graduation

‎When it was announced that we'll be using "We Made It Through" by Gerald Magbanua as our grad song, I thought it was just an old song by an artist I never heard of.

‎

‎Nope, I immediately knew it was AI-generated "released" just last year the moment I saw its thumbnail on YouTube. And darn, it really is AI-generated when I listened to it from start to finish.

‎

‎I also found out that other schools have used AI-generated for their graduation/recognition events as well.

‎

‎I feel very conflicted about this; on one hand it should not be a big deal as it's more convenient plus the song itself is not bad-sounding, but on the other hand it feels hollow and hypocritical.

LawPH Supreme Court: Senior Citizen Discount Cannot Be Combined with Other Discounts

Post image
239 Upvotes

The #SupremeCourtPH En Banc, during its session today, October 14, 2026, ruled that senior citizens cannot claim an additional 20% discount on top of an existing promotional or negotiated discount.

The SC explained that when goods or services are offered at promotional prices, senior citizens may choose either the promotional discount or the 20% senior citizen discount, whichever gives them greater savings.

The ruling came as the SC acquitted Orville U. Ong (Ong), general manager of a hotel in Bacolod City, of violating the Senior Citizens Act for allegedly refusing to grant the mandatory 20% discount to hotel guests Atty. Paul S. Alcazaren, 66, and Eric Gadiana, 70.

Ong argued that the hotel had already applied a 20% discount on the room rate negotiated for the Cebu Bikers Club, of which the guests were members. The discount was not separately reflected on the official receipt because it had already been deducted from the total amount.

The Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Regional Trial Court, and Court of Appeals found Ong guilty.

The SC reversed the lower courts’ rulings, finding that the guests had already received the 20% discount through the club’s negotiated rate. The hotel was therefore not required to grant an additional 20% discount.

The SC emphasized that while the Senior Citizens Act aims to protect and support senior citizens, its implementation must also be fair and reasonable to businesses.

As the SC explained, “[t]he State’s pursuit of public welfare cannot be allowed to impose undue or confiscatory burdens on private establishments, whose continued viability is essential to the long-term effectiveness of the law.”

MusicPH Suggestion: Should the Philippines adopt Japan's lottery system for concert tickets to prevent scalping and scams?

With everything that's been happening in the Philippine concert scene lately, I can't help but wonder: Why don't we consider adopting Japan's lottery-style ticketing system?

Nowadays, buying concert tickets here feels like a competition. You have to deal with online queues, tickets selling out in minutes, scalpers reselling tickets at ridiculously inflated prices, scammers, and so-called ticket assistance services that may or may not be legitimate.

It's becoming unnecessarily stressful for genuine fans who just want to see their favorite artists perform.

In Japan, some concerts use a lottery-based ticket application system, where fans enter a draw for the chance to purchase tickets instead of competing in a first-come, first-served online queue. It's not a perfect system, and getting selected isn't guaranteed, but I think there's something worth learning from it.

Here's my suggestion for the Philippine concert scene:

  1. Lottery-based ticket applications. Instead of relying solely on who can get through an online queue the fastest, fans could register for a ticket lottery within a specified application period. The system would randomly select successful applicants, giving everyone who enters a fair chance.

  2. A verified ticketing app. We could adopt a system similar to Japan's AnyPASS, where digital tickets are managed through an official platform. Ideally, tickets would be linked to verified accounts to make unauthorized selling and fraudulent ticket transfers more difficult.

  3. Controlled ticket reselling. If someone can no longer attend a concert, they should be allowed to resell their ticket only through the official app or an authorized resale platform. The resale price should be capped at the original ticket price, with clear rules for any legitimate service fees. No ridiculous markups just because demand is high.

  4. Apply the same concept to running events. This could also be considered for highly anticipated running events where race kits sell out quickly and resellers or unofficial ticket and registration assistance services become an issue. An official transfer or resale system could help protect runners from fraudulent registrations.

Of course, implementing this would require cooperation among concert organizers, promoters, ticketing companies, event organizers, and possibly the government. There would also need to be safeguards against people creating multiple accounts or abusing the lottery system.

I know Japan's system isn't perfect, and not every Japanese concert uses the same process. But I think we can learn from the idea and adapt it to our local setting rather than simply accepting scalping and ticket scams as normal.

What do you guys think? Would a lottery-based ticketing system with official, face-value-only resale work in the Philippines?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially from people who have experienced buying concert tickets in Japan and here in the Philippines.
