•

u/ImaginationBetter373 15h ago

•

u/terradski 2h ago

na galing sa diploma mills

•

u/tutti_patutti_00 15h ago

•

u/Alabangerzz_050 15h ago

We pay large taxes yet they use free version ng Gemini lol

•

u/asimoxgago Visayas 15h ago

The 4th picture is definitely an AI and also cover

•

u/connorshonors 15h ago

all of the pics are. halata.

•

u/fishZ_7 14h ago

second one literally has the gemini watermark

•

u/JelloStriking8384 15h ago

paldo mga authors nyan, easy money eh

•

u/shoukolala 13h ago

The Gemini watermark 😭 they didn't even try to hide it

•

u/PlusComplex8413 14h ago

I mean college level textbooks have pictures, colors, and formats it to have more information.

•

u/MidnightBlue8000 15h ago

Ngl thia book is just plain bad. Looks low effort

•

u/highandlow_meepmeep 15h ago

The pictures are AI, but the drawings seem generic since black and white

•

u/joooh Metro Manila 15h ago

Shame on you DepEd

•

u/Montreal_resident_19 15h ago edited 11h ago

Nagdowngrade malala. Parang na-bookbind lang.

•

u/itoangtama 15h ago

kita ko yung logo ng gemini sa kagubatan at kalsada sa lungsod, pero i won't worry much about it. Ang mas mahalaga ay yun text. is it effective in teaching values education?

•

u/joooh Metro Manila 15h ago

•

u/MinervaLlorn come outside, we won't jump you 12h ago

Hindi consistent yung art style

•

u/mezuki92 11h ago

•

u/OpenYonQ_ 11h ago

paldo pa yang mga yan dahil sa book royalties (or maybe wala dahil deped textbook to). but still..

•

u/no-lead5761 11h ago

Hindi na ko nagulat dito. Wored creative freelance for deped before, sobrang pahirapan sila bayaran mga contractors nila, wala na nga sila resibo, kakaltasan pa yung bayad tapos aabutin pa ng 6 months para lang mabayaran ka. Sobraaaaang corrupt pucha

•

u/undermaster__ 9h ago

Education is meant to celebrate the creativity of scholars, yet they rely on AI? There is so much more value if they had just used stock images online, paid for them (remember we are paying with tax money), used public domain images, or hired a graphic designer from the academe; our talent is being wasted.

•

u/Ill-Ruin2198 Luzon 14h ago

Yung 3rd image, parang hindi AI. Kasi ganyan na yung art style nung ibang books dati

•

u/Zenon04 14h ago

There is gemini logo on the bottom right corner

•

u/Ill-Ruin2198 Luzon 14h ago

3rd image/slide, walang Gemini logo

•

u/Zenon04 14h ago

Oh I was not paying attention, I am very sorry. It was the second slide with the 4 pictures. Yeah my bad, I sometimes have this thing where I keep messing things up.

•

u/PreventionPreventer 3h ago

Yo, everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Don't be so hard on yourself.

•

u/stuckwithreddit 8h ago

That's 100% made by AI. Super generic yung mukha and magkakapareha lang yung mga mukha nila : a very common AI pattern.

•

u/norwegian Metro Manila 14h ago

Is it true that protecting the environment starts at home? Isn't it in the mayor's office where they can vote for proper garbage disposal? Vote for not using toxins to extract minerals from the mountain, not to dump toxic waste in the rivers and sea?

•

u/9specter528 PLDBS 15h ago

•

u/Garlic-Rough 14h ago

What about the actual content?

•

u/Knightly123 14h ago

May sariling QA ang mga publishing house for the images used and the written content. Feeling ko hinabol nalang yung mga images or nagcut sila ng budget for layout artists/ graphic artists

•

u/ArmaninyowPH Mindanao 13h ago

I'm more annoyed na hindi consistent yung klase ng images na ginamit. Yung isa mukhang simpleng drawing lang, while yung isa mukhang anime.

•

u/1l3v4k4m Luzon 12h ago

dystopian

•

u/SnowFlakes360 11h ago

magkano budget tapos libre ginagamit na ai :D

•

u/Craftsman1294 10h ago

One reason why I left publishing. Kahit ayaw ng artist, no choice eh. Haist.

•

u/kakkoimonogatari Duty Devotion and Service 7h ago

yung mga authors niyan may mga PHD pa

hahahaha

•

u/KuronixFirhyx Philippines as a Singularity, when? 5h ago

Kailangan ba bago parati? O may kickback na naman.

•

u/SpicyGingerSnaps71 5h ago

•

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope2847 5h ago

this is so sad :[

•

u/paulrenzo 4h ago

Tis what happens when deped goes solely for the lowest bidder. Will not be surprised if the actual content of the textbook is AI generated too.

•

u/ZYCQ 3h ago

I feel sad for kids going through education here. This is exposed in different school books every other.month. many of those ai books have much deeper issues in content. i wonder if there has ever been consequences to the authors or the people sourcing the books.

•

u/CaterpillarAny1043 2h ago

i'll miss the unique style of art while reading these sort of books at school. I always wondered about the human artist behind these depictions, now they ruin it too with soulless slop

•

u/SkyGuyDnD 2h ago

I visited a bookstore in SM this week. 80% of all covers were AI...

I kind of push back sa knee-jerk reaction na basta AI, slop na agad and dismissed as a sign of poor quality.

I mean, the books were intended to be instructional, if the books are factually (and grammatically) correct and fullfill their function as they were intended, wouldn't it really matter if some AI was partially used to make them?

AI was originally designed to assist in increasing productivity and enhancing output in the first place, diba?

Nagkaron lang naman negative connotation dahil sa excessive (mis)use of lazy people (mostly content creators) to mass produce poor quality content trying to pass it off as wholly original work of art or entertainment.

•

u/Yan-gi 8h ago

I have no issue with using AI for caricatures if the art style was trained without stealing from an artist.

But for actual content and "photographic" references? Foul.

•

u/Shoddy_Diver_4077 15h ago

•

u/eromynAwonKtnoDI 🍃 15h ago

ano naman?

•

u/Vex_Out_0032 15h ago edited 15h ago

basically a reflection that the department that oversees the education of the filipinos is not doing their jobs properly.
