"phone bad book good" ahh people, and when i go to youtube theres no gif in sight, also guys tell me, have yall ever saw empathetic behaviour in youtube before?

All of a sudden I started to get recommendations from 10-15 years back? Not just 2-3 videos, a ton of old videos for real.

Is this happening only with me?

I'm not sure what happened, and I don't think reccomendations have been good in years, but suddenly it seems like theyve gotten a lot worse. I'm pretty used to being suggested the same videos constantly, but usually it's at least had some things I'm interested in mixed in. Suddenly my suggestions have changed radically to sometimes be things tangentially relevant to what I watch (ie; reaction channels, educational stuff, and whatnot) but things I have never shown an interest in/have actively told youtube I am not interested in, as well as things totally unrelated to anything I watch. Along with that, I very rarely see things I am interested in that I havent watched very recently. Again, it's never been great, but I feel like its gotten a lot worse recently, and I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing this?

It's insane how much i want to escape from it all, and its insane how good it feels to watch videos. I've always Ioved to escape into it. Even to the detriment of my relationships, goals, and mental health. Ever since I cut it out, I can feel what its absence is like, and it feels bad. I always feel a pull toward it. Like its wired deep within me. I wish i could take it out. But i can't. So I just have to live with a constant aching desire to wash away my conscious thought.

I feel contempt for the people who made these algorithms and i feel contempt for anyone trying to profit off of these fostered addictions. I wish algorithms weren't apart of our lives. But they are. And my contempt doesn't help me recover. So I remember my family, friends, and loved ones who have inspired me to be strong. I remember my mantras and rehearse them.

I think that if I feel an urge... a healthy response is stepping away from my computer.

I attempted to search a song on youtube which the song itself isnt offensive in any ways, but i assumed due to a word in the song name made youtube decided to block the search until I log in.

If you misspell the searching word the result would come back like nothing offensive happened.

Like 5 years ago I accidentally hit "don't recommend channel" on a channel and now despite the fact that I watch stuff on there all the time I cannot get it recommended even though I'm subscribed and have to look it up. Is there any way to undo this?

i ussually like to watch with the screen big so i keep it at 60% btw but now it defaults to this look and without theater mode on

honestly is it for the best or for the worst only people with youtube premium will have access to gifs but still youtube will continue to make crappy updates till the shareholders and higher ups finished milking youtube bone dry.

Youtube has become unusable on any device I have in any location since the videos refuse to load.

I don't know why this is happening. I tried completely closing at that app and clearing the cache but it's still does it

Out of nowhere, every short and every video just won’t load up!

Everything else is fine to search, but not a single video.

I’ve tried closing everything down but still nothing.

Quick search hasn’t got anyone else having an issue.

I love youtubers that actually use their chapter markers to better viewing experience. One example of this is LTT. I can literally skip stuff. Very helpful, especially for me; watching through jellyfin :P
