Hi, this is for all my psych people!

I’m a York Psychology alum and received my Credly badges for my concentrations.

But I swear I remember seeing someone post physical concentration certificates here a while back.

Does York actually issue physical certificates for Psychology concentrations, or am I completely misremembering this? If anyone has received one, let me know!

I have been having this problem since I left my old degree which had a cohort discord and because of it I never realized how blessed I was to have it. Thats why I made a platform in my free time, the platform allows you to join your degree community as well as add course communities so you can pretty much have a custom course chats like it won't be a discord server where you are only allowed certain subchats that the owner makes. For example, I could be in an Art degree and still take biology and have everything in one place. I am honestly promoting this here in this subreddit, because I want to grow this platform so that any student can simply join their community and get on track with their courses without having to search for a possible nonexistent group(expired group/spam group/broken link). My second reason is that I need this platform to grow for myself so I can join my own damn course community because none of my classmates nor myself want to create, manage as well as go up to my peers and ask to join a server. Currently the platform is in the early stages and this is the first post to see if York students would be interested in this kind of platform so even if you join don't be surprised if it isn't up to a lively community yet. If you have any questions about the platform either reply to this post or meet me in dev post on the platform. Thanks and I hope everyone is doing well during the reading week! PS this is a solo dev project there may be bugs please let me know in dev post and the platform is free and only accepts verified York students.

Currently in review for the app available on web as well as can be turned into a web app as a replacement until the app gets approved.

For anyone who has taken this course before, what does the midterm look like? Is it multiple choice? Do I have to answer short-answers for specific definitions (i.e. social imagination 1, 2, 3 etc.)?

Hi everyone i’m an international grad student as the title says and i’m still doing the the paper work to be able to join yorku. I got the offer but still have some questions about how to choose the courses and about deadlines and the submission of the final transcripts.

What first year courses will I have to take? How are the profs? How is the social life at this campus? I also have a disability. Will i be treated like... normally or will ppl be weird about it?

Has any prof given a math1300 practice test for test 1? If they aren’t giving it, how are you studying for it?

I attended the convocation today. First of all, there were alot of tech failures when showing the names of students on the screen. Some awards were not even announced by mistake and I was a victim of that. I was supposed to be magna cum laude, but the spokesperson missed to announce it. I know I shouldnt make a big deal out of this, but it literally took me blood, sweat, and tears to achieve that distinction, and I did not even had the chance to showcase it to the larger audience. Anyways, congrats to everyone who graduated today!

Heyy, I'm 19F in my second year and looking to make some friends (preferably F, but M is good too) to hang out with. I like playing video games and board/card games, down to ball up if ur into that (but if ur not that’s totally cool too), like doing arts and crafts/DIY's, and any activity that sounds fun and engaging (like going to watch a movie, taking some sort of class, or trying out things around Toronto)

I’m pretty much down to do whatever.

I’m super into Marvel, DC, slushynoobz, joebart, so feel free to hit me up if you’re down to do something :)

The professor for EECS 2030 (Hui-Wang) mentioned that exceptions would not be tested on the lab test, but Lab 3 covers exceptions, and the lab test instructions say that Lab 3 is included. Does anyone know whether we still need to study exceptions, or are they excluded despite being covered in Lab 3?

I’ve seen a few people mention that the strike might happen this term mainly bc of how fast the conciliation phase has started this time, but is there an actual expected date we can expect the strike?

If it were to actually hit this semester would that cause our winter term classes to be delayed/suspended until after the strike is over? I know YUFA proffs can continue on with their classes, but Most of York has contract proffs and TA’s so many classes would still not be able to run. Wouldn’t this affect people trying to graduate in the spring then?

Hey does anyone have any tips on how to study for SOSC 1340 with Prof John Simoulidis? I have my first quiz coming up and it's out of 100 marks (matching, fill in black, define key terms, and 5 short answer questions) but it's only worth 10% of my grade. Please any advice greatly appreciated!

the math 1506 test review and actual test was very similar is it going to be the same case for chem1000 practice test and actual test ?

Like I just set it up but what do I use it for

Hey guys I know the bcomm program isn’t the best but I also know that it leads to the same CPA if I choose that and also law school is something I am considering. I have heard it is insanely easy to keep a good gpa at bcomm York like finance or accounts is that true?? I know the common question that comes when I ask people this question is why yokr bcomm for law? It’s because in case I don’t get into law I can always do cpa which is the same regardless of the uni you go to. I would really appreciate any help

Exam is in 11 days, im lowkey cramming but I finished chapter 5 &6, they were not that hard. Just two more. Im just nervous cuz everyone is saying the exam is nothing like the textbook. Which i believe cuz its like that for all my courses. How am I supposed to study to get a B+ at least in this course?

Ps: if anyone has any pass session worksheets PLEASE send them to me. I have been doing the reccomended textbook problems but yea..

Has anyone switched from a science related program into a business program, or graduated with a science degree, but now work in business? If so, what do you do now?

Hey, does anyone have notes or slides on the obligatory methods for hashCode() and compareTo()? Are they going to be tested on the lab test? I can’t find anything about them on eClass.
