Question Plot armor and story aside, if every single member of the X-Men and every single member of the Avengers fought, who do you think wins and why?

I’m asking this sub specifically because something like this was posted on Twitter and almost everyone on that app said the X-Men would easily win, so what does this sub think?

Comic Discussion X-Men opinions/hot takes day 13

Dazzler: nothing to really say about her she’s neat and superhero pop stars are pretty cool albeit rare.

Forge: his relationship with Storm was weird and creepy and I’m glad that 97 called him out on it.

Gambit: one of the coolest X-Men out there with one of the coolest powers. His trench coat also sells the design and without it he’d look really silly.

Jubilee: she was very much the “how do you do fellow kids” character of the 90’s and now that they’re over marvel has no idea what to do with her. Curse of the mutants and more recently Infernal Hulk really show this.

Bishop: awesome power and 97 showed he’d be a perfect fit for Polaris but he’s still another character from the future that X-Men writers keep adding and it detracts from their uniqueness as a whole especially compared to someone like Cable.

Comic Discussion Please help me with the journey of these 3 characters

Post image

I want to understand more about their "villainous" or at least not so good side (I heard Doug has one).

What I want is, please, some "summary" of Xavier and Beast "sins", and even some stories I can read about them. Just please, avoid Krakoa spoilers.

As for Doug, I just want some recommendations on what to read during Krakoa era. I'm currently reading it, which is why I don't want any spoiler. Immortal X-Men is already on my list, and I think Doug is there.

So, please, can anyone help me with this?

Fancast Fridays My top Polaris choices for the MCU X-Men & a bonus Magneto

I’d love to see Polaris introduced in the MCU, especially alongside Jean Grey and Storm. Although I know we probably won’t get her anytime soon, here are my top four choices for Lorna Dane.

Lorna generally seems to be portrayed as slightly younger than Jean in the comics but I wanted to cover a range of ages (20–28) with actresses that could possibly play younger or older depending on how the MCU approaches her character and relationships.

I’ve also included a little bonus fancast for Magneto. Lee Pace has been my top choice for Erik for a while now, and I’d love to see him portray Lorna’s father alongside any of these actresses.

Ella Rubin. A 25-year-old American actress best known for her roles in The Idea of You, Until Dawn and Sterling Point.

Mikey Madison. A 27-year-old American actress best known for her roles in Anora, Scream and Better Things.

Fina Strazza. A 20-year-old American actress best known for her roles in Paper Girls, Fear Street: Prom Queen and Broadway’s Matilda the Musical.

Diana Silvers. A 28-year-old American actress best known for her roles in Booksmart, Ma and Space Force.

Lee Pace. A 47-year-old American actor best known for his roles in Pushing Daisies, Foundation, The Hobbit trilogy and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Comic Discussion If Betsy/Psylocke never had the bodyswap - what impact would that have had on the character?

If Betsy/Psylocke never had the bodyswap and remained who she was right before it, how do you think that would've impacted her in the long run?

Would she have become the breakout she became in Kwannons body? Would have X:TAS still have used her? Would she have been big enough to get adapted to the big screen for a film?

Comic Discussion What more is there to Monet St Croix’s character? Besides the snob rich girl exterior

It’s rare to find a discussion on Monet’s character on Reddit. I think she is very arrogant from what I’ve seen but there’s a lot to back up with that talk. But I want to know more about her. What makes her tick, where her morals lie? What qualities would a person need to have to be come apart of her circle. I'm curious what are your guys opinions.

Comic Discussion What is your favorite Storm story?

Post image

For me the 80’s stuff was without a doubt her best character work. She was so interesting.

Her time in Japan with Yukio, where she learned to let loose and live fully. No holding back. New Mohawk hairstyle and punk outfits. Yessss!

The tragic LifeDeath story afterwards where she lost her powers after being accidentally shot by Forge. She became despondent and questioned her identity as someone no longer with powers.

Then when she beat Cyclops and was declared leader of the X-Men. Cyclops was sent packing and back to Madelyn. It was such a pivotal moment for Storm, a black woman in the 80’s. Claremont really loved her.

I won’t lie, I hate her current stuff. It feels to me like they are trying so hard to make her a “badass” that she now feels empty. I hope I can one day see the complex woman she once was in future books.

Movie/TV Discussion For the MCU’s Psylocke, I think it would be best to use a concept similar to Tommy Maximoff/Speed having two souls inhabiting the same body.

Post image

There’s so much debate over whether the MCU’s Psylocke should be Betsy or Kwannon, and neither option feels entirely satisfying; I believe creating an amalgam would be the ideal solution, allowing fans to see aspects of both characters combined. It would be quite simple for them to adapt the story by introducing a second mutation for Betsy one involving her soul much like how Jean Grey gained that new power during the Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Comic Discussion Why marvel has never explored the hellfire club aspect of braddock family?

Post image

I have read somewhere that betsy's grandfather was part of hellfire club and since the membership is given over to the next generations, interesting how marvel never really explored more stories including betsy in a emma frost type of role.

It came to my mind since marvel is trying hard to differentiate both betsy and kwannon from each other, so why not let betsy take a role at hellfire club?

Betsy is my favourite mutant and i would love for her to have some unique spotlight from kwannon.

Question Really rare pairings you ship?

We all know about Scott and Jean or non-canon ones like Kitty and Magik. I mean RARE pairs, a ship that probably you and one other person ships, they've probably interacted like once if at all and you just think they'd be interesting. Personally, for me, I think Evangeline Whedon and Beast would be nice together, at the very least they'll be cute, I don't think they're endgame or anything (Hank's endgame is clearly Simon) but I do think they'd complement each other well. A scientist and a lawyer, both have more animalistic mutations that changed the trajectory of their life; I could go on. I would like to hear about some ships that I have never seen before and well, it's the x men, it could happen!

Comic Discussion What Was the Regular Iceman Doing During the Dark Angel Saga, and Why Didn't He Help Warren?

I've been thinking about the Dark Angel Saga and something about the continuity bothers me.

Warren was on the verge of destroying all life on Earth, but the regular Earth-616 Bobby Drake doesn't seem to be involved in stopping him at all. Instead, the Iceman who appears in the story is the Age of Apocalypse version.

Given that Warren and Bobby were both original X-Men and had known each other for years, is there an in-universe explanation for why Bobby never found out what was happening? Was the crisis kept secret because X-Force was operating covertly, or is this simply one of those cases where the wider X-Men were left out of the story for plot reasons?

I miss these factions as new antagonists. Since Fall of X I’ve really only enjoyed the character Sarah Gaunt. These characters were built up and then shoehorned into quick miniseries. What characters would you like to see come back. Personally I’d like another X-men Green perhaps working with Hordeculture as I find their frustrations with eco-cide to be sympathetic.
