UPDATE: Apparently Reddit PvP is already working.
Well, after that little battle in the comments, I figured I'd explain a few things about myself and, more importantly, the actual game.
First off, yes, I'm using AI again. Relax, I basically asked it to remove my ums and uhs, add punctuation, and separate paragraphs so people can actually read my rambling thoughts. Apparently, proper punctuation is considered an unfair advantage now. Lol.
As for my personality, I enjoy sarcasm, joking around, and some good old-fashioned shit-talking. I don't go looking for arguments, but I don't exactly run away from them either. Sometimes I entertain them longer than I should because, well, I enjoy a good verbal battle.
Apparently, my PR skills have also been compared to those of a 12-year-old. Honestly, that's probably unfair to the 12-year-old. I'll admit I got a little carried away. I take building and running the game seriously. Myself? Not nearly as much. I can laugh at myself, and I hope others can too.
Anyway, enough about my apparently successful Reddit PvP testing.
Now, about UO Last Rally.
I've spent about a year building the version of Ultima Online I've always wanted to play. I love programming, designing systems, and figuring out how everything connects. Marketing and social media? Not so much. I'd rather be building the damn game.
Here's some of what makes Last Rally different:
- Living creatures and evolving nests: Monsters fight, consume each other, inherit traits and abilities, and evolve. Nests grow, compete for territory, and can eventually attack towns.
- Nest battles: Want a nest crystal? You'll have to defend it for 45 minutes while its creatures come back to make your life miserable.
- Heartstones and affinities: Elemental progression systems tied to creatures, combat, and character development.
- A living world: Factions, long story-driven quests, crafting, housing, player economies, PvP, and even a casino. I want a world where things happen whether you're watching or not.
And that's just part of it.
What I'm looking for is simple: About 50 UO players willing to help test it. Break things, find bugs, give honest feedback, and tell me what works and what sucks. I don't need people telling me everything is great. I need people willing to help make it better.
Testers can earn points, rewards, special titles, and permanent Founder recognition. Expanded testing starts November 11, with the final wipe and public launch planned for January 2.
I'll share actual gameplay screenshots after this weekend.
And yes, the original AI-generated marketing post that apparently started World War III is still below. I'm not deleting it or pretending I didn't use AI. I gave it my ideas and asked it to make a marketing post. Apparently, that was enough to unlock an entirely new enemy faction I hadn't even programmed yet.
So enjoy the original post. I'm leaving it right where it is.
If you want to play UO, help test something different, and have a little fun along the way, you're exactly who I'm looking for.

----------------------------------------------------
Remember when Ultima Online was about more than just grinding skills?
When leaving town was an adventure? When you never knew whether the next player you encountered would become your best friend, your greatest enemy, or the guy who stole everything you owned?
That's the spirit I'm trying to bring back.
Hey everyone! I'm developing UO Last Rally, a heavily customized Ultima Online experience built on the classic foundation we all remember, but taking the game in an entirely new direction.
I'm opening up 50 early Pre-Alpha testing spots before our larger Veterans Day testing launch, and I'd love to get some experienced UO players involved.
⚔️ No Trammel. Real Risk. Real Adventure.
We're keeping the freedom and unpredictability that made classic UO special.
- Open-world PvP and PvE
- No Trammel
- Classic UO skills and character-building freedom
- Crafting, gathering, exploration, and player interaction
- A world where danger and discovery are part of the experience
But we're not simply recreating another classic shard.
🐉 A Living World With Evolving PvE
We're developing systems that go beyond traditional monster spawns and dungeon grinding.
Nest Crystals and evolving monster nests are part of a larger approach to making PvE more dynamic, giving players new threats to investigate, challenges to overcome, and reasons to keep exploring.
We're also developing new storylines, world content, and progression opportunities.
The goal is to preserve what makes UO feel like UO while giving longtime players something they haven't already experienced a thousand times.
🔥 New Ways to Build Your Character
Your traditional UO skills are still the foundation, but we're building additional progression systems around them:
- Five unique factions with different identities and opportunities
- Affinities that expand character development
- Additional abilities beyond the traditional UO skill system
- Life Essence and other unique progression mechanics
- New ways to develop your character alongside your familiar skills
I want players to have meaningful choices and reasons to experiment with different builds, not just follow the same handful of templates forever.
🖥️ Integrated Razor Experience
We're also developing an integrated Razor-style assistant directly within the game instance, eliminating the need for a separate Razor window.
I'm particularly interested in getting feedback on script compatibility, including JaseOwns scripts, and seeing how well the integrated experience works for actual players.
🎁 Help Test. Earn Points. Get Rewarded.
Rather than simply asking people to test for free and hope everything works, we're building a Tester Points reward system.
Help test features, identify bugs, provide feedback, and contribute to development.
Your participation earns points that will carry forward and be redeemable for rewards when the server goes live.
📅 Our Timeline
NOW – 50 Pre-Alpha Spots
I'm looking for approximately 50 players willing to get in early, explore unfinished systems, report problems, and help shape the experience before the larger testing phase.
NOVEMBER 11, 2026 – VETERANS DAY
We'll open testing to approximately 100 additional players, expanding the community and putting more systems through their paces.
JANUARY 2, 2027 – OFFICIAL PUBLIC LAUNCH
Final server wipe, fresh world, and everyone starts on equal footing. Previously earned Tester Points will remain available for launch rewards.
💬 What I'm Looking For
PvPers, PvE adventurers, tamers, crafters, explorers, guild leaders, longtime UO veterans, and even players who haven't touched UO in years.
I especially want feedback from people who have played different shards and know what they loved, what frustrated them, and what they'd change.
I'm not claiming everything is finished. That's the entire reason I'm recruiting testers early.
And I'd love to hear from the UO community:
- What is the ONE thing you miss most about classic Ultima Online?
- What do modern private shards get wrong?
- Would you rather see more dynamic PvE, deeper character progression, or more meaningful faction warfare?
I'm actively developing this and want community feedback to influence where we go next.
