Getting electrocuted
Does anyone else constantly get electrocuted by the card inserts, elevator buttons, and just metal in general here in the dorms? Asking for a friend

Plss I need this. I got rejected from all the top one and I feel like I’m way too behind now. And I don’t think I’ll be able to score something meaningful to fluff up my app before winter recruiting…

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for an English-speaking conversation partner for a friend who is currently studying at UCLA School of Law. Ideally, he’d like to connect with a law student or someone with a legal background who would be interested in meeting regularly to practise English and discuss law-related topics.
The goal is to improve his spoken English, legal vocabulary, and confidence in academic and professional discussions, while also exchanging ideas and learning from each other.
If you’re interested or have any recommendations for where to find someone, please feel free to comment or send me a DM. Thanks!

Ok, so the fucking MBA program: you know, the one that a lot of older shysters join at night after working a job they don't like during the day commute to?
Well, it turns out the program is losing 21% of application income, I mean applicants.
I mean like, fucking...people are kinda waking up to the idea that jobs should have purpose. And that purpose goes way way way beyond trying to learn how to rip people off. Because no matter how far "ahead" one is in the rat race...there's always someone better than you somehow one way or another.
MBA is a purely theoretical and soft-study type of degree. It's not like art, where real talent is touched upon (despite all the special interests influencing what constitutes art). I can put on some gloves and take the pile of shit from the toilet in fucking Guy Haines Hall and throw it on the wall and claim it's art. Sure enough, some sick bastard on ebay is gonna wager a dollar on it. That's business!
Is an MBA actually going to help our society excel and resolve the issue that remains with the rich getting richer and the poor becoming poorer? Fuck that.

My long-term goal is to become an RN and eventually pursue nurse anesthesia. My interests include patient care, public health, mental health, and making health information and resources more accessible.
How competitive does my background look for UCLA and UCI nursing? If you were admitted, what do you think helped your application stand out, and what would you recommend emphasizing in the PIQs and nursing supplemental materials?

Hi everyone! 😊
I'm a transfer student at UCLA majoring in Linguistics & Asian Languages and Cultures!
I'm currently looking for two native Japanese speakers who would be willing to participate in a short, video-recorded conversation for my Methods of Asian Linguistics class.
My assignment is due this Sunday, October 18, and I've been having a really difficult time finding participants. I've already reached out to several student organizations and asked around campus, but unfortunately, I haven't had much luck. 🥲
The recording would be used strictly for an academic assignment, and participation would be completely voluntary. I'm more than happy to explain the assignment, answer any questions, and discuss the recording process beforehand!
If you're a native Japanese speaker, or know someone who might be willing to help, please comment or send me a DM! I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Any help or referrals would mean the world to me!

I was looking for housing around UCLA and was wondering if the convenience of living nearby campus in Westwood but paying a higher price compared to living somewhere else like in Sawtelle that is more affordable was a tradeoff that was worth considering?
I’ve been having a hard time finding affordable apartments or studios in Westwood and was thinking I would be better off living somewhere else farther away from campus. Unfortunately, I don’t have a car, for those who commute, how is the bus ride from Sawtelle to North Campus? Does anyone also have any recommendations for any apartments nearby campus?
