Missing Doodle!

Her name is Sandy she was last seen on Tate Rd in JC she was taken from her yard. She’s a medium sized dog about 30 pounds. She’s three years old and well groomed… she’s a little shy when it comes to men and won’t approach them unless of course they’re her owner but she will approach women. If anybody knows anything or has seen this dog PM me thank you! There have been people reach out saying that they found the dog in the Washington and Sullivan County animal shelter it was unfortunately not her and she wasn’t in Jonesboro the other day either. Her parents reside near Elizabethton HWY in bluff city.

Reddit is a long shot I know- disabled gamer looking too hire part time help in Abingdon

If you’re looking for a chill part time gig for about 24 hours a week, allow me to lay it out for you. I'm a stroke survivor in need of some part-time assistance.

A little about me: I’m a 44-year-old man living in SWVA with my husband. I had a stroke when I was 42, and while it impacted my ability to walk, but mentally I'm still just as stupid as I've ever been 😅

Ideally, I’m looking for someone to hang out and help out around 3 days a week, roughly 10am to 6pm (approx 24-28 hrs)

We’re pretty flexible on the exact schedule—if you work with us, we’ll do our best to work with you

The Day-to-Day:

Honestly, most days are pretty low-key. A lot of the time I’ll just be in my wheelchair doing my own thing—working on whatever figurine or art project I’m fixated on that month, or mindlessly scrolling on my phone.

What I actually need help with:

* Transfers & Hygiene: The bulk of the job involves assisting me with physical transfers and personal care. I know it’s a dirty job at times, but I promise I’ll do my best to make it as easy and un-awkward as possible for you 🧑‍🦼

* Light Housekeeping- Occasional sweeping/mopping/ laundry/meal prep 🧹

Who would be a great fit:

Since we’ll be spending a fair amount of time together, I’d love to hire someone who feels more like a friend. If you’re a gamer, you’re more than welcome to dive into my library while you’re here 🎮

This could also be an awesome setup for a student who needs to make some extra money but also needs quiet downtime to hit the books and study.

(Side note: Pokémon lovers automatically move to the front of the line. Just sayin'.)

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please send me a DM ~~and please feel free to forward this to anyone you feel might be interested~~

PSA: Early voting in TN has started

Don't wait until election day to vote.

Google "TN early voting locations" and input your info on the .gov website to figure out where you can vote. It may be different than the election day location.

Please be sure to vote! If it didn't matter then the powers at be wouldn't be doing everything they can to interfere with our ability to do it.

Help finding home for 2 kittens! Kingsport area

Thumbnail gallery
16 Upvotes

I found Squeak (F - left) and Benny (M - right) about 6 weeks ago in the woods outside of Nickelsville. They were very young, bony & malnourished with eye infections - I took care of and treated them until they got better. They are active and happy again now! Unfortunately, I already have cats and cannot keep these little guys long term.

I know there are shelters around that may be able to take them, but they have lived their whole lives playing, sleeping, & eating together and I would hate for them to be separated. Please send me a message if you or someone you know would like to have them.

Thanks all!

Kingsport Has Most Motivated Home Sellers in Country

Post image
41 Upvotes

According to data from Parcl Labs, Kingsport has held the top spot in the country every week since late August. In order to qualify for the list, a metro needs 1,000 or more active listings. Johnson City made the same list at #3 several weeks ago when its listings reached 1,000. If JC had more listings, it would also be on this list as well as Jonesborough.

Needlepoint class

Thumbnail gallery
24 Upvotes

I’m thinking about trying something new and wanted to see if there would be any interest! 🪡

I recently taught a few friends how to needlepoint at my birthday party and had so much fun doing it that I’m considering offering beginner needlepoint classes in the Tri-Cities!

I’m thinking small groups of 8–10 people, probably once a month to start. Classes would be about 2 hours long, and you’d learn the basics of needlepoint while working on your own hand-painted, personalized monogram canvas.

The cost would be $45 per person, which would include the class and everything you need to make your own needlepoint luggage tag — canvas, thread, needle, scissors, needle minder, luggage tag, and a project bag to take everything home in. You wouldn’t need to finish your project during class!

No experience needed at all! Just come hang out, learn something new, and hopefully find a new hobby.

I’m not booking anything quite yet, just trying to gauge interest before I start painting a bunch of canvases 😂

Would anyone be interested? And would you rather do a weekday evening or a weekend?

Photos of some projects I’ve finished & am actively working on.

Is there anywhere to buy CD’s besides Backdoor records?

I live on the far end of gray closer to Kingsport now so I have a harder time making it to downtown JC now. Is there anywhere else that still sells them or has a decent selection?
I’m trying to cut out music streaming services and get back to owning physical media once more so I’m just trying to build a collection once more.

Help rehoming 2 cats and a dog

Thumbnail gallery
19 Upvotes

I am trying to assist my brother in rehoming his two adult cats and one adult dog. They are healthy and are up to date on shots and everything like that. All three are fixed. If anybody knows any resources or rescues in the area that will be willing to adopt them please point me in the right direction. I'm trying to prevent them getting taken to the pound and getting euthanized but he will have to give them up soon due to a rehoming situation where he can't take them with him.

29F looking for friends!

Helloooo! I recently separated from my partner and moved from Jonesborough to Greenville. I still frequent the tri cities though.

I moved here from PA and still haven’t found many friends. It’s hard as an adult 🤪

I’m currently working 2 jobs(property management in the farm I live on and housemaid), and doing some volunteer work through the ARC&D. I’ve meant plenty of awesome people through the classes I’ve taken through the ARC&D, but haven’t met anyone to hang out with outside of there. Most of them are farmers with very little time haha

I have 2 horses and 2 dogs who love to hike.

My interests include: horses, hiking, farming, farmers markets, coffee, thrifting, I’m a big foodie as well. 😊

I have a dream of either setting up an international community or co-op when I’m taking classes to learn more about farming/business.

I’m always down to try something new and I’m also here to just chill and enjoy each other’s company.

I’m a down to earth hippie who’s passionate about the environment and community. A little neurospicy too 🤪🩶

I’m not sure what else to include in this as it’s a new thing for me, but if you’re interested in chatting please comment or shoot me a message on here. 😊 or if you’re interested and in learning about the ARC&D. They are a great organization for anyone looking to get into farming, volunteering, or local food.

Food recommendations

(visiting home for first time in 10 years)

Will be visiting the end of October and don't really know what's good anymore. I'll be based out of Elizabethtin, but can drive quite a ways for something good. (Bristol, JC, boone, Asheville) Would prefer not to go to kingsport-but would if it's worth it.)

Our plane lands in Charlotte, so If you know any places there or between there and JC, that would be cool also.

Would really love some good BBQ, but it seems it's all went downhill. I never liked Ridgewood, Dixie was always my favorite.

Food trucks in blountville

I work in blountville and see food trucks sprawled about almost every day. At the clerks office, back near the Walgreens, near Eastman bank, etc. I was wondering if there is somewhere I can see a schedule for where the food trucks will be and when, instead of having to follow every single food truck on social media. Thanks in advance!

Recommendations for exterior painters?

We need our soffits, gable, 4 porch columns, screened-in porch framing, and garage doors painted. I’ve reached out to a couple of different businesses requesting a quote, & haven’t heard back from either one.

Does anyone have any quality & reputable exterior-painting recommendations?
