What benefit is being provided by these guys sitting in the median or on the side of the road with their lights on all day during the state fair, football games, hockey matches, etc

Hey I'm single 34m. With Halloween coming up I want to know where the best bars or parties will be to meet single women. What are you dressing up as this year? Also open to meeting up to go out together if any women are interested.

I’m looking for a Raleigh based biker! It was around 9/9:30pm on the 29th of September and I was breezing up Creedmoor road right off Glenwood ave & this motorcycle rode with me while we zipped between cars. I turned into my neighborhood but he continued up Creedmoor & I’m beating myself up that I didn’t continue the journey. I didn’t get the bike or plate, but he was wearing a Vans tee and popped a wheelie for me :,). I drive a blue/teal Volvo C30 and have dark curly hair for any reference. Thanks!!! Hoping to run into you again.

Hi, I'm a freelance reporter based in Chapel Hill who is working on a story about managing food insecurity when you or a family member has food allergies or sensitivities. Are you able to afford the foods you need or find them at local food pantries? How does the additional cost of the food you need affect your budget? If this sounds like you or someone you know, please reply to this post. I'm hoping to talk for 20-30 minutes on the phone or Zoom. Thanks!

I reported this story about a career path that stretches across the Triangle: Raleigh police officer → Apex small-business owner → counseling in Cary.

April Buchanan says The Perky Lady was profitable when she closed it. What interested me was why she chose to leave anyway — and how the three very different jobs ended up having more in common than they might appear to.

Read the story for free: https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/counties/wake-county/article317594991.html?giftCode=82d665766f83eff5699e42710b3390d0811132a5558fa6562e15990512c45688

We are moving into a really nicely maintained single family house in Cary and want to hire a thorough move in cleaner. I want someone who has a specific list of items they will clean and are thorough as we are not getting any younger. About 3 weeks later we will need a move out clean of our current house which is older and we will be prepping for resale. Also in Cary

Both homes will be empty at time of cleaning. Current companies I am considering are Ivory Pines, Dust and Mop and Enovana based solely on Google reviews.

High priority: thoroughness and a written list of what is covered, good communication, reliability

Not as important: eco friendly products.

We will have a separate and much loved carpet cleaner coming in before the deep cleaning so that is not necessary. We will probably not be using a service on an ongoing basis.

Thoughts on these 3 companies? Someone you would recommend higher? Move in clean needed in 2 weeks. Move out clean not as tightly scheduled.

Would love some help. Thank you!!

My partner's mom passed away recently and her house is a definite hoarder situation. Any recs on companies that do this kind of cleanup?

I know this is the Triangle sub but she asked me to post here too, just to see if anyone here had a good rec too.

I wanted to report this car through the “how’s my driving” number but the last part of it is cut off. If anyone knows the rest of this phone number or what company the car is from, I would greatly appreciate it! I tried searching online but apparently there are multiple different phone numbers and the license plate look-up only gives me general info about the type of car

The first day of early voting is pretty much over and the average wait time is about 15 minutes across all polling sites. The graph below gives you an idea of when each site was at its busiest.

My wait in Apex was about 20 minutes from arrival to the “I Voted” sticker, right on the estimated time.

The two Cary sites, Hilltop Needmore Town Park Clubhouse in Fuquay-Varina, John Chavis Memorial Park Community Center in Raleigh, and the Wake Forest site are particularly busy, consistent with previous years. Plan accordingly. Most other sites freed up around 5pm.

Traffic at each site ebbs and flows, and some voters were already in line when polls opened this morning. Gap above is mine, not the BoE's

Expect heavier traffic during the first few hours as people stop in on the way to work, and around lunchtime. Lines are shorter in the last couple hours, so stopping by after work looks like a good approach as well.

Early voting runs through Saturday, October 31. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.

Keep in mind that wait times are reported manually by poll workers, at intervals ranging from about 15 minutes to an hour. Conditions can change quickly, so don’t be surprised if the line is longer than the latest estimate suggests.

Don't forget a picture ID, download your sample ballot a head of time and you'll be in and out of there quick. Remember, a polite "no thank you" to campaigners stalking the walkways as you speed walk to the polls is you owe them.

Hi! I am on the hunt for a yoga teacher who can meet with me for 60 mins to get some tips on a few poses I struggle/feel awkward in.

Downward dog, hop forward, triangle, crow prep

Thank you!

My son plays youth baseball in Carrboro and we just got word that practice was cancelled due to "an incident" at Hank Anderson Park, nothing more specific than that. Anybody have any idea what's going on there, IF it is appropriate to share?

Two new items added this week! Heliopsis helianthoides, Early Sunflower, and Phlox divaricata, Wild Blue Phlox.

Wild Blue Phlox is found in the mountains and Piedmont of NC in moist shady conditions. Only growing to be about a foot tall, it makes a great border or ground cover for your shade garden.

Early Sunflower is also found in the Piedmont and mountains of NC but in drier, sunnier spots. It typically only grows to be 3-4' tall and just as wide, but will spread by seed and rhizome to fill in an area or compete in your grassland.

We will be open this Saturday 9-4 at 5911 Mount Hermon Church Rd. in Durham. If Saturdays don't work for you, you can place an order online and schedule a time to pick up at a time that is more convenient.

Many trees are and all annuals are currently discounted 20-50% off at this time. The annuals are basically being sold as seed for next years plants as of now, but they will all easily germinate without any help.
