Hello everyone! I'm an astrology girly finally starting to explore tarot, so I'm a total beginner, and I'm currently going through a lot of doubts about my career path. I work as an art teacher and educator, mainly with young children, I also have my own artistic practice, but I've never really turned it into a money making career, although both things are very intertwined.
I found this spread online, and I'm struggling to interpret the first two cards especially. I'm also confused about reversals, especially with cards that already have somewhat difficult meanings. Some sources seem to interpret them as moving away from a bad situation, while others see them as being more deeply stuck in it. Since I'm just starting to develop my tarot practice, I'm unsure whether to use reversals or not.
My interpretation:
Five of Pentacles: All I could think of was moving away from a situation of scarcity, exclusion, and lack of recognition, which are feelings I've definitely experienced in my work as a teacher. I do long for a sense of belonging in my career and have dreamed of developing projects through partnerships, but I often end up having to do most things on my own. But I'm struggling to see how it applies to the dream job position. I know the question itself is a little silly, but I'm finding it hard not to feel discouraged by pulling the Five of Pentacles here.
Three of Swords reversed: Perhaps it's about recognizing my wounds around my career and facing the ways I've been disappointed in myself. It could also point to confusion, denial, or contradictions in my thinking. Maybe I need to acknowledge and work through wounds I've been overlooking, let go of a victim mentality, and face some uncomfortable truths about myself?
6 of Wands: I do have an ability to achieve results, make progress, and gain recognition. There is some potential to make my work visible to others, I just need more confidence and optimism perhaps.
Reversed Queen of Cups: I need to beware of the emotional dynamics in the support I receive. I do feel like other people's needs sometimes interfere in my professional decisions. Beware of my boundaries when looking for support.
King of Pentacles: I need to pain attention to the more practical and material foundations of my career, build a more realistic structure. I'm truly struggling with finding stability, sustainable working conditions, organization, and long-term growth currently.
Let me know what you guys think! I would really appreciate any insights. I also did a second reading focusing more specifically on the challenges, solutions, and outcomes of both my teaching and artistic paths, but I think that would make this post too long, so I'll save it for another one. Thank you!
