I have a modern version of a Thot deck, which I found absolutely stunning to work with.
A while ago, I gifted one of the cards to my SP as a farewell gift. The card that represented what I thought of them in my first ever relationship spread I did for us. It was one of the Minor Arcana.
I really miss using this deck. I believe the only way is to get a new one. Unless there's any other way to go about it?

So i’ve been really wanting to get into tarot for a while but i just couldnt find the right time or a deck that looked good to me. But recently i found this gorgeous deck of cards that i just really liked and i bought them. i asked my friend who has been doing tarot for about 4 years and she told me that before doing a reading i should keep the deck at my bedside for 3 months for it to “absorb” my energy. i have never heard of this, is this true? i really dont wanna wait 3 months to start

Hello everyone! I'm an astrology girly finally starting to explore tarot, so I'm a total beginner, and I'm currently going through a lot of doubts about my career path. I work as an art teacher and educator, mainly with young children, I also have my own artistic practice, but I've never really turned it into a money making career, although both things are very intertwined.
I found this spread online, and I'm struggling to interpret the first two cards especially. I'm also confused about reversals, especially with cards that already have somewhat difficult meanings. Some sources seem to interpret them as moving away from a bad situation, while others see them as being more deeply stuck in it. Since I'm just starting to develop my tarot practice, I'm unsure whether to use reversals or not.
My interpretation:
Five of Pentacles: All I could think of was moving away from a situation of scarcity, exclusion, and lack of recognition, which are feelings I've definitely experienced in my work as a teacher. I do long for a sense of belonging in my career and have dreamed of developing projects through partnerships, but I often end up having to do most things on my own. But I'm struggling to see how it applies to the dream job position. I know the question itself is a little silly, but I'm finding it hard not to feel discouraged by pulling the Five of Pentacles here.
Three of Swords reversed: Perhaps it's about recognizing my wounds around my career and facing the ways I've been disappointed in myself. It could also point to confusion, denial, or contradictions in my thinking. Maybe I need to acknowledge and work through wounds I've been overlooking, let go of a victim mentality, and face some uncomfortable truths about myself?
6 of Wands: I do have an ability to achieve results, make progress, and gain recognition. There is some potential to make my work visible to others, I just need more confidence and optimism perhaps.
Reversed Queen of Cups: I need to beware of the emotional dynamics in the support I receive. I do feel like other people's needs sometimes interfere in my professional decisions. Beware of my boundaries when looking for support.
King of Pentacles: I need to pain attention to the more practical and material foundations of my career, build a more realistic structure. I'm truly struggling with finding stability, sustainable working conditions, organization, and long-term growth currently.
Let me know what you guys think! I would really appreciate any insights. I also did a second reading focusing more specifically on the challenges, solutions, and outcomes of both my teaching and artistic paths, but I think that would make this post too long, so I'll save it for another one. Thank you!

hi all!! i'm looking to find the RWS lineart with transparent backgrounds for some free educational things, but i'm struggling to find them!
pretty sure that the images i'm specifically looking for are from the pictorial key to the tarot. the best i've found is on wikimedia, but the backgrounds are solid white and i'm finding it super difficult to reliably remove all the white areas of the images (especially in the detailed areas) and it just seems to be way more trouble than its worth.
alternatively i've found several paid ones on etsy that obviously arent too expensive but i'd rather check in with the community to see if anyone has files or knows where i can access files before i naively spend, especially since the cards are mostly public domain and it feels sketchy to spend money on that sometimes :-)

Hello! Been a longtime reader of the sub but haven't posted my own post here yet. I had a question for those that have the Universal Rider Waite deck: did you get rid of the edges? I hate that it has that 1990 u.s. game systems inc. logo on the front of every card. Theyre also slightly too large for my hands lol, like most every deck. Usually I just put up with it but with the edges being as they are I wondered if I might change this particular deck.
I noticed im slowly warping the deck into that classic c shape that comes from shuffling and I dont even riffle this deck. It comes from my hands being too small.
It might seem like my decision is made up but my problem is I dont have a reliable way to cut the edges off. Im not sure what sort of paper cutters might work (what have others had success with?) and scissors seem too free-form.
TL;DR: This deck has borders I dont like and im starting to see damage from shuffling with small hands. Should I remove or keep them, and if remove, how?

I am in a situation where someone is haven't spoken to in years reached out to me. It seemed like they might have been asking for help with something that I have personally been through, and upon a little prodding, that did seem to be the case. Two weeks later, I reached out and invited them to a support meeting, and they seemed very ready to take me up on it, but they didnt show up. I tried reading the situation to know if i should back off.
FIRST ROW
The other person - eight of cups rx. This makes me think they are not ready to walk way from their current situation.
Their energy towards me - four of cups rx. It seems they are not taking my offer for granted.
Energy between us - 5 of pentacles. Representative of our shared issue
My energy towards them- 6 of swords. I am really trying to take them out of this struggle
Me - death rx. I haven't changed my savior complex
SECOND ROW
Why didnt they show up- they are recklessly choosing to live in the reality of their bad situation
What do they think about coming to a future meeting? - 8 of swords. They are trapped in self limiting beliefs about if they belong there or deserve to be there.
What can I do to help? - temperance. Not push them.
What should I be temperate with- queen of swords rx. Reckless amounts of reaching out
THIRD ROW
Outcome if I do not reach out- 7 of swords. It will come across manipulative somehow?
Outcome if I do - page of swords. Probably nothing more than a lighthearted conversation.
Deck was made by me for personal use.

Back in May, I decided to pull one card, each for one month to see how the months beyond would go.
Now, looking back at it, I’ve seen that the cards I pulled have actually reflected what I’ve been feeling through the months since.
Now, for November, I pulled The High Priestess and this got me thinking, what does she represent? I know that she’s a Priestess. In touch with the divine and herself. She’s also intuitive and I believe she’s also into occult, symbolised by the Tora she’s holding.
Some people also say if one pulls up The High Priestess in a reading, then it’s just upto the divine or inconclusive on how the events would proceed.
So, I just want to know, what she really means in a reading. Does it mean getting in touch with your intuitive and divine self, or that it’s all upto the divine on how the events proceed ahead in the life.

The heart of the career is my genoristy and good intentions (6 of pentacles) and in the past it represented my own spiritual goals, purpose and creating a loving world (ace of wands). But now my emotions are all over the place in an almost childlike way. I enjoy life's pleasures too much(?) (page of cups). I need to focus on my unconscious mind and intuition (9 of swords rvs). If nothing changes it will cause stress in my relationship (2 of cups rvs). Death popped out while shuffling, not sure of the significance but maybe overarching financial problems

Hi all, I’ve been feeling very connected to my deck lately and so I wanted to ask the cards something that has been heavy on my heart for a while: how was my mother feeling at the time of her death?
My mom died nearly 4 years ago after a long battle with cancer - she fought for over a decade until finally deciding to stop treatment, and passed away in her bed surrounded by family less than 2 months after starting hospice care.
I love my mom and miss her every day, so as I’ve been more comfortable with my deck and my spreads have been feeling more intuitive I’ve been wanting to gain clarity on her headspace upon leaving her physical body. Maybe it’s to try and feel closer to her even though she’s not here anymore, maybe because part of me simply needs to be certain she was at peace in those last moments, I don’t know, but the cards I pulled instantly let such a warm feeling of comfort wash over me and I just felt the need to share.
My go-to custom spread is a modified celtic cross of sorts: the central card speaking to the overall theme/situation the subject is facing, the crossing card to indicate associated feelings that arise and/or challenges the subject is facing (this cross being the core of the situation), the third card placed below representing the foundation, the fourth placed to the left and speaks to the subject’s past, right is the subject’s future, and the top card is the overall outcome. I also like to pull a final clarifying card as sort of an exclamation point on the whole thing, which I place to the side of the spread on top of the entire deck.
As you can see, I believe this spread speaks to my mother experiencing pure joy and light upon leaving her physical body as represented by The Sun, and with Temperance crossing I believe she felt as if she truly chose her time to fully let go, waited for that perfect moment as the sun was setting, surrounded by loved ones, kind of her final balancing act. Her sister had just gotten to our home just an hour or two before she passed and I think she held on just a little bit longer so she could let her say goodbye.
The Hanged Man as the foundation spoke to her reaching total acceptance, finally letting go of the control she held onto for so long and letting herself surrender. Then, with the past card being the Ten of Pentacles, this makes me believe she was proud of all she was able to achieve in life and the legacy she was leaving behind, not only regarding her family and wealth of love but also her career and community she had always poured herself into.
Then, the Ace of Cups in the future position reveals to me she reached a state of pure, overflowing love and emotion upon the moment she left the physical plane - this was such an emotional card to pull. The 7 of Cups at the top of this spread in the final outcome position makes me think her spirit was expanding in infinitely possible forms - in the after life she could be anywhere, visit any memory, reside in any divine realm imaginable. Now that she was free from her body, the possibilities were endless.
And finally, the card to round everything out: Strength. My mother began her battle with cancer 15 years before she passed, and through every bump in the road, every remission followed by relapse, every surgery, every round of chemo, every side effect, every fucking thing, she never complained or gave up. She chose to end her journey with such quiet courage and dignity. I will always be so proud to he her daughter.
Anyway, if you’ve gotten this far, thank you for reading. Of course always open to additional interpretations of the spread, but overall I just wanted to share what I felt to be a beautifully comforting story of my mother finally achieving ultimate peace. 💙💚

Edit: A couple of people are asking in dm but i used Labyrinthos to practice interpreting my readings since im a baby tarot reader. After a while i stopped then cancelled, Next day it renewed, and it’s about to be two days with no reply 💀
Had to call my bank and I got the money back but no reply still thanks guys 🤗

Will I be happier in the new house?
The 9 of pentacles kept jumping out of the deck the 2 times I tried to ask this question. My initial feeling reading this spread is that it will be busier than the current house, but in the end a better environment even if it’s temporary. And that I’ll have more financial opportunities there with the 9 of pentacles.
Justice to me feels like finally getting this opportunity after it’s been taken from me before (interested to hear your take on this).
The empress is how I envision I will feel in this house, but is that a pipe dream.
I’m stumped on the chariot. Thinking it might mean an opportunity will come quickly once I move there.
Are there any indications of the past being relevant in some way?

I’m creating a tarot deck for my partner for Christmas and am looking for ideas for the cards!
So far I have:
- A possum playing dead for Death
- A wizard frog for The Magician
- A very fat, sad cat in a dunce cap for The Fool
I also have The Devil, The Sun, Temperance and The Tower but I’d love some ideas for the rest!
I hope this is okay to post, and TIA!

Knight of swords, queen of pentacles, knight of cups
I take it as him sincerely wanting to (knight of cups) and trying to find a way to do so (knight of swords) because he recognizes how generous and caring it was to give him the loan (queen of pentacles) but I don’t see anything saying he’ll actually manage to do so.

Hi all. ‘The Golden Tarot’, a reprint of the Visconti-Sforza Deck, was my first. I have had it for years and while I do enjoy reading with it, I’ve been relying on the guidebook a lot and I find it the card meanings in the suits are sort of too… specific, as phrased? It reads to me like a list of (sometimes tangentially related) interpretations and I’m having trouble seeing the forest for the trees (stepping back and observing patterns, grander symbolism and meanings, etc.). Internet resources seem to pretty much exclusively focus on Rider-Waite, and often make references to images I should be gleaning symbolism from that… are not on my cards. Does anyone have any good reading material, or videos, or resources or what-have-you that doesn’t do this? Or good crash courses on the suits in particular? It’s driving me mad. Thanks for any help!

C section tomorrow
One question, 3 pulls: how will my c section go tomorrow. Seems fitting but not entirely sure about 3rd card.
3 of swords reversed: I've had the worst pregnancy I could have imagined from day one. I was sick with hyperemesis gravidarum for over half, diagnosed with gestational diabetes since 9 weeks, had to switch OBs, fractured my hip and pelvis, the list goes on. The separation of my child from my body will be a relief for me and I can't wait to recover.
The devil: I'm actually in a 15 Arcana year. I launched my startup then found out I was pregnant. The pregnancy was more of a hindrance than bringing my second child into the world.
Six of pentacles: another kid brings higher costs. I'm okay with that.

Wasn’t expecting the cards to be this blunt 🫣😅😂 I wasn’t doing a specific spread like past present future but honestly maybe it is that. My question was just how to navigate my finally admitting that I’m struggling with my addiction again or requesting more information . To me it’s more of a fluid story, 2 of Wands, at a crossroad’s and contemplating what my next steps are, The Devil is the bondage and toxic hold that addiction is still having over me, and 7 of swords is the lie I’ve been telling myself; that I’m fooling everyone and functioning just fine, while downplaying the severity . convincing myself it’s better to not open up about it and handle it on my own vs asking my support for help.

Hi there, everyone! I am a YouTube creator and I have an idea for a video involving myself getting tarot card readings from several readers in my region. The intent of the video would be to compare/contrast them to a prophecy blessing I received in my time in the Mormon church (aka a patriarchal blessing). I am approaching this as a complete skeptic to the Mormon church’s blessing, but not necessarily the tarot readings. The intent would NOT be to disparage the art/trade of tarot reading whatsoever. In fact, I’m hoping the tarot readings would be somewhat consistent in nature and more grounded about what my future holds (if that’s the intent of most readings). I would, of course, tell every tarot reader ahead of time about the plan to get their consent. I’m reaching out here first though because I’m entirely unfamiliar with the community and don’t want to be disrespectful. Do you think it would be disrespectful to compare one reading to another? Is that a faux pas in the tarot community?
So, I'm making a deck of my own and I wanted to add a lot of major arcana, but since I don't collect decks or anything like that, I'm looking for extra major arcana I don't know about. I've got all the base ones from the Waite, some from the Thoth deck, the four elements and virtues from the Minchiate deck, Jupiter, Juno, Chaos, and the 12 zodiac, but Im having trouble finding more.

Hey all! Looking for good recommendations for 1JJ Swiss Tarot. Started with regular playing card cartomancy for a year or two, then picked up this beautiful deck. Using some of my old cartomancy style to read pips as they’re not like the RWS ones, but looking to get some solid, well rounded meanings around each card, especially the major arcana, and am interested if anyone else does TdM, or more specifically Besancon or 1JJ style reading. I’ve been tempted to just get the RWS or Thoth or even a classic TdM deck to simplify things, but I tend to think that less is more and am trying to just stick with what I’ve got and commit. Thoughts, friends?

I'm not sure if this is the sub for it but I thought I'd start here. I got a Linestrider Tarot deck after falling in love with the Winterseer Animal Oracle deck. I think the cards are beautiful. I've shuffled them around after taking time to look at each care and get a sense of the deck. I did maybe two "getting to know you" readings and I've noticed that no matter what I do or how I shuffle the cards, The Fool is pulling away from the other ones. It's creating a gap in the deck! Sometimes it integrates in if I shuffle it into a smaller pile and then into a larger one but it always stands out again with repeated shuffling. It's been through enough shuffling that it should be integrated with the rest of the deck. I've contacted the company I bought the cards from and thought I'd inquire on Reddit too. Is there anyone here with this deck that's had the same issue? Anyone have any ideas of what I can do other than repeated shuffling? I don't know if this is something that will get better with time or worse with time. I can't find any blemish on The Fool compared to the other cars and some of the other cards will do this too but The Fool is the most consistent one. This is an issue because I almost always know where it is in the deck. Help!
p.s. - I realize there's a larger gap in this picture but the one down the middle is the issue and it's difficult to capture one handed. Also, sorry for the weird formatting, I can't post two pics here unless I do it this way
EDIT: I decided to pull out all the cards that were creating the gapping effect after I pulled The Fool out. I thought it would be a few but more kept coming, hence so many cards. I thought it was done and looked at my deck and pulled the last three. What's interesting is the King of Swords was one that would pop up with some regularity (not like The High Priestess or The Fool) and it didn't pop this time. Neither did The Hanged One, which was another one. I think Justice wants to join the party but it will integrate in after some shuffles.
There's definitely some interesting symmetry/interaction going on and I didn't lay them out that way on purpose. I'm not sure if the columns are commentary on the cards at the top (like what's underneath) but they seem to talk of financial success and stability, a man, a choice, rest and isolation, hope, and maybe a relationship?

I haven't read any books on tarot but in every site and blog and video the 3 of swords is always this dreadful and painful card that no one likes. But where does that come from?
The swords are the mind so thoughts, ideas, beliefs, etc. And the three is expansion so a new idea or a change of belief or even letting go of a thought pattern. I get this can be painful but it's just not proportional to the usual meanings people give this card.
I mean the ten of swords is right there, THAT IS PAIN. And Death is right there, that is letting go of stuff. And The 8 of swords is right there, that is thoughts that hurt you.
I just understand this card. Where does the pain come from? Can someone help me?

I've seen two different calculations, one that gives a pair (what I've been familiar with for longer), and one that I think gives one..??
The one I've been familiar with longer adds up as the following: 11 + 29 + 20 + 6 (which would equal the hanged man + the empress)
But recently, I've also seen: 1+1+2+9+2+0+0+6 (which would be the world)
I know these are both related to birth dates and tarot cards, but are there different labels/meanings for these two? Or are they just both considered birth tarots? Any help is appreciated, because I can't seem to find the correct words to Google to get an actual answer LOL thank you in advanced!!
