Survivor 51 Can we talk about _____? Spoiler

Yes, the split to three tribes was bad, gave us a boring 40 minutes of TV, yadda yadda yadda.

However

Are we going to gloss over Alexis straight up telling Jenna "give me your shoes for collateral"????

What the heck kind of psycho shit is that??

Hilarious, unhinged, not gonna work, also super mean and burns a bridge.

What was she even trying to do???

Survivor 51 _____ is this seasons villain, but Jeff probably won't acknowledge it Spoiler

Devin. No hate towards him irl, dont know him, but certainly in the show and with the story so far, I feel like we've got a decent villain. A self righteous seeming bully with a lot of power. Unfortunately, the show probably won't acknowledge that and I think Devins positivity is enough for Jeff to like him. Id be interested to be proven wrong and see where this goes from here, just my thoughts so far.

I have alwayssss been confused as to why almost nobody researches local forageable plants before going on survivor like that seems like such a no brainer to me?? When Kristin said she did that she instantly became my favorite this season. A power lesbian with a brain like thank god.

Survivor 51 Frustating Spoiler

1.1k Upvotes

It just sucks that someone who had potential to have one of the greatest survivor storylines ever in jenna, someone who has applied for like 20 seasons in kristin and someone whos playing hard and ran a blindside like alexis are screwed because production has some sort of sexual fantasy with having 3 tribes

Let this be a lesson bc the first 3 episodes were great tv and had fun dynamics between tribes

Survivor 51 The Helicopter Alliance Spoiler

I don't know about this one. I like them a lot as individuals, but as an alliance, they give me nothing, and I mean that strategically.

With the exception of Sharonda, who I feel is the better player of the 4, Devin is too chaotic, Ori is just there. Jelly while I want to give her more grace, I feel she didn't establish herself well enough especially in the original Toka tribe. She just goes with the flow (Devin's flow)

Idk.. maybe people with a better read on the game can offer more insights on how they view the alliance's gameplay and who you think will make it furthest.

Survivor 51 Stat about the first 4 players voted out Spoiler

The first 4 players voted out of the game all received exactly 6 votes.

  • Aaliyah: Voted out 6-2
  • Ana: Voted out 6-4
  • Patt: Voted out 6-5
  • Jenna: Voted out 4-1, received 2 votes at the Aaliyah vote off.

This streak will almost certainly end next episode, as the largest tribe has 6 players, and the only players with votes are Aric with 4, Kilby with 5 and Alexis with 1 (her tribe has 4 players on it), but we'll see how the next episode plays out.

Survivor 51 Production truly outdid themselves with this episode and should do this more often. Spoiler

There’s been a lot of uncertainty over the last 3 episodes since players have had the ability to actually play the game for the first time since Winners at War.

But hearing more than 2 names be thrown out in a 90 minute episode is too confusing for me. I can’t follow what’s happening unless the tribal council is a simple A or B vote that was spoiled 15 minutes into the episode as soon as we saw the color of their buffs. I also really love it when nobody says or does anything fun or interesting in the lead up to tribal because they’re not under any kind of pressure. Otherwise, the excitement makes my weak heart beat so fast I have a heart attack and have to stay in the hospital until next Wednesday, 8/7 central.

Please, do more of this. In fact, swap them again into 8 tribes of 2 for even more simple tribal councils.

Survivor 51 Eric & Kilby Spoiler

Ik there’s a lot of hate for last nights episode and I understand it (the swap stuff sucks and poor Jenna) but I wanted to highlight how fun it was for me at least to see Eric & Kilby together lol. Especially since the editors edited them more bromantically than they ever have with Jelly and Ori lmao Eric is getting very likable lately he’s just so wholesome despite being annoying

Survivor 51 One thing I’m not looking forward to next week Spoiler

Devin’s smug celebration over finally booting Jenna cuz we all know it’s coming next week at the start of the episode. I’m not just saying this cuz Jenna was one of my favorites, but I just find myself liking Devin less and less with each episode.

I’m sure he’s probably a decent guy irl and it’s just the edit he’s been given, but with how cocky, smug, and a little controlling he’s been so far in the game. It just rubs me the wrong way, which is good because we need more villain-esqe players on Survivor, but it doesn’t mean I still can’t be annoyed by them.

Survivor 51 Controversial opinion, last night’s episode was only so disappointing because _____ Spoiler

Controversial opinion, last night’s episode was only so disappointing because the most boring tribe lost immunity.

I know everyone’s tired of the three tribe dynamic, but to me it’s not the three tribes in and of itself that’s the problem, but the way that it plays out is the same every season. This season it felt different, both of the two tribes that won immunity had very interesting dynamics and groups that have interesting choices, we just so happened to get the tribal with the most pre-determined outcome imaginable. Maybe you guys don’t agree, but up until the immunity challenge, I thought it was a pretty good episode and if either of the other tribes had lost, the storylines would’ve been much more compelling.
