TL;DR: I'm a disabled Silver/Gold support player who mains AP Miss Fortune because her movement speed helps compensate for my slow reactions. I play with a locked camera, roam a lot and focus heavily on vision. I regularly get flamed and threatened with reports just for picking MF, sometimes before the game even starts. I recently got a 30-day ban for "disruptive gameplay", but Riot won't tell me which specific decisions got me banned, even after two appeals. I know my macro isn't great, and I'm genuinely asking other support players to look at my match and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Making bad decisions is one thing, but is it really intentional griefing?
I need some honest opinions from other support players because at this point I genuinely don't know what the fuck I'm doing wrong.
I'm a Silver/Gold level support player. I mostly play AP Miss Fortune, sometimes Lux. I'm better on Lux, but I enjoy MF a lot more.
There's a reason I play her.
I have a severe disability that affects my reactions and how quickly I can respond to things happening in game. I'm not mechanically good. I play with a locked camera because that's simply easier for me to handle.
MF's movement speed helps me a lot. I can get around the map quickly, reposition, poke people with E, place wards and generally be useful without needing amazing mechanics.
I'm not trying to climb to Diamond or pretend I'm some genius support player. I just want to enjoy the game. League is actually the only game I play.
My playstyle is pretty simple. I roam a lot, sometimes probably too much. I go mid, top, invade with or pressure the enemy jungler, help with objectives and try to make life miserable for the enemy team.
I also focus heavily on vision. In most of my games I end up with one of the highest vision scores, often the highest in the entire match. You can check my match history.
That's how I try to compensate for my bad mechanics.
But playing MF support has been a fucking nightmare when it comes to teammates.
I've lost count of how many times someone has started insulting me in champion select just because I locked in Miss Fortune.
Sometimes people immediately announce they're reporting me. Sometimes they refuse to cooperate or help me because they think MF support is trolling.
The game hasn't even started and apparently I've already ruined it.
During games it's not much better. I roam mid and someone gets pissed off. I pressure the enemy jungler and he starts flaming me. I keep going top to poke and annoy the enemy top laner and suddenly he wants to report me too.
I've seen teammates asking the enemy team to report me, with some opponents agreeing.
Sometimes people repeatedly claim they're reporting me and paste messages saying Riot received their reports.
I don't know how many actual reports that translates into, obviously.
Here's the part that really bothers me.
After an earlier punishment, I played a lot of matches with my chat restricted. I couldn't type in champion select or during the game.
I couldn't even tell my ADC that I was going AP MF.
I couldn't explain what I was doing or why I was roaming.
And I was still getting insulted and threatened with reports, despite not being able to say anything back.
I have no way of knowing whether those players were punished, but it certainly didn't stop happening.
Anyway, here's why I'm posting.
I recently got a 30-day suspension for "disruptive gameplay".
I appealed twice. Riot said they reviewed it twice and that the punishment was correct. They also told me further tickets about the ban would be automatically closed.
The problem is that they haven't told me which actual gameplay decisions were considered intentional griefing.
So I downloaded the match data through Riot's API and tried to work it out myself.
Here's the match:
EUNE - MaxEotp#111
Match ID: EUN1_4013073691
OP.GG: https://www.op.gg/summoners/eune/MaxEotp-111
I was AP Miss Fortune support.
We lost 10-40 in kills in roughly 26 minutes.
I finished 0/1/3, with 14,471 champion damage, 85 vision score and 32 wards placed. I also helped secure three Void Grubs.
And yeah, I had 98 CS.
I know. That's a shitload of farm for a support.
We were getting absolutely destroyed and I started clearing waves to slow down pushes, protect towers and get whatever resources I could.
But maybe that's part of what I'm doing wrong.
Maybe I'm taking farm I shouldn't be taking. Maybe I'm leaving my ADC alone too often. Maybe I'm focusing too much on vision and side lanes instead of staying with my team.
That's what I want other support players to tell me.
There are two situations from this match I'd particularly like opinions on.
First one, around 20 minutes.
I was pushing bot with Varus while the rest of our team was defending elsewhere.
Three teammates died at 20:06, 20:07 and 20:16.
We destroyed the enemy bot turret at 20:28, but the enemy team pushed mid and destroyed our inhibitor shortly afterwards.
My thinking was that we were already so far behind that taking an enemy turret was better than going back to fight fed opponents and probably dying too.
Was that a terrible call?
Should a support ALWAYS go back and defend in that situation, even when the team is massively behind?
Second situation, around 22 minutes.
Varus was pushing top and both our Nexus turrets were still standing.
I tried to join him with Teleport so we could put pressure on top again. From what I remember, he started heading back after I'd already committed to the TP.
I wanted to get some vision around Baron too.
Hecarim caught me in the upper river at 22:45 and killed me.
That was my only death of the match.
Should I have stayed in base? Was going toward Baron completely stupid? Was trying to split the map with Varus a bad idea?
I'm genuinely asking.
I know 0/1/3 isn't some incredible support score. I know that dying only once doesn't necessarily mean I played well. I might have avoided fights I should have joined.
And I know that getting 85 vision score doesn't mean much if I'm not actually helping my team when they need me.
But I'm trying to understand the difference between playing badly and intentionally trying to lose.
I have my limitations. I sometimes react too slowly, I probably make bad calls and I don't always understand what the best macro decision is.
That's why I'm Silver/Gold.
I just don't understand why those mistakes would mean I'm deliberately ruining games.
I've had previous suspensions too, and that makes this even more frustrating because I still don't know what exact behavior I'm supposed to change.
So I'd really appreciate some actual support advice.
Am I roaming way too much as AP MF?
Should I stop taking side waves completely, even when we're losing hard?
Is my idea of trading objectives fundamentally wrong?
Is AP MF support itself a problem, or is it more about how I'm playing her?
And if you look at that match and think I played like absolute shit, that's fine. Tell me.
I'm not looking for people to tell me I'm secretly good at the game.
I'd just rather have someone explain what I'm doing wrong than keep getting told I'm intentionally trolling without knowing why.
I really enjoy playing AP MF support. The movement speed and playstyle work well with my disability, and I'm trying to be useful in the ways I actually can.
I don't need to be an amazing player. I just want to play the game without constantly worrying that every bad call or unconventional pick is going to get me reported.
So yeah. Any advice from people who actually know the support role would be appreciated.
