Btw, I'm playing my second run after my first one on release date, 2 years ago. My last save is before the boss fight with Scar, so I probably have several more deaths now (that mf still kills you with one shot). And i found the game too much easier than the first time. And before to jump into conclusions, I'm playing in Veteran (+) difficulty. Not in Master because i am a F5 addict!
Don't let the numbers of deaths confuse you, 80% of those deaths are from the first half of the game and mostly on anomalies (I just don't have the patient to hunt an artifact, i just run directly to them hoping i won't die in the process. Usually doesn't work.) And a big part because mutants (snorks, i hate you!). Once i get good equipment the rate of deaths dropped considerably.
But shot to death? If i said 50 of those deaths are from shooting i'm exaggerating. I even kill Faustus with 3 grenades! (On my third attempt, really. The first one i died, the second one I went for the achievement and in the third BAM! 3 grenades and he was dead!). And I kill Strelok at my first attempt with 2 shots of the gauss rifle, one to the body and one to the head. In my first run i reloaded this battles like half a dozen times each, at least!
I'm doing the Ward run now (and the Duty path in COH expansion), maybe is because of that? I also found this path shorter, with less side missions and much less scripted encounters. Now when i finished and rest a little from the game, i will start a new game to do the Spark and Freedom paths.
So, it is easier the game after all the patches in those years?
