I just got my driver's license and I'm looking into all the vehicles I could get, there's a lot of things that I really like, but most of them have one big thing I really don't like the cost, not just of buying the thing itself but gas and insurance forever onwards. Turns out for motorcycles those expenses are a fraction of the cost so it's decided. But they also take a special license, but with my regular license in my area I can drive anything with 50cc or 49cc (what's the difference) they don't count just not on highways.
In some ways it seems perfect, I could get all around the city I could cut a half hour off my commute I could still have some money left in my bank account. But idk, maybe I'll buy it then realize highways are more useful/harder to avoid than I thought, or the places I really wanted to go all along were outside the city not inside and I'll be stuck in a cage just a tad bigger than the one I'd escaped.
And one of the main reasons to get a motorcycle I think is to pick up women have them hold onto you close their eyes and scream as you go thrice the legal limit, but in my case I'll struggle to go 0.75x the limit they'll be yawning falling asleep, if they get on at all, because although I can recognize the beauty in these things idk what the common perception is. So with regards to women it's possible I'd get none of the upsides of a motorcycle, plus the downsides of not being able to have sex in it as one would a in a car. This is actually my number one concern I think.
Also, I live in a very cold far northern corner of the world, actually it snew just last weekend, so this is a dream for spring really, and I'd be lucky to get six months of good riding conditions, idk if that changes my calculations compared to a guy in southeast asia.
My idea is if I love it I love it if I hate it I use it as practice get my motorcycle license sell it and buy something else, but if I could preemptively say I'll hate it I could just skip to trying to get my motorcycle license.

Hi, everyone. For quick context, this is a scooter I bought pretty messed up in the "been sitting in someone's yard" way, and unreliably said to have a bad fuel pump. Since then I've replaced or otherwise supplied:
Each of these solved a different problem except the ignition components. As in:
After replacing the fuel pump, I was initially getting some weak spark; the engine would try to rumble on for maybe a half second, then would stop until I let off the starter, waited, and tried again. Testing the spark by grounding the plug outside the engine showed some weak amber sparks for about the same time period, then nothing.
Replacing all those ignition coils did nothing; if anything, it got worse over that time; now I can't get any spark, at all, with multiple plugs/ignition coils/wires.
Help a dummy out, because I'm running out of ideas; what could I possibly try next? Fun projects are fun, and I'm still having fun, but I'm also just flat out of things I know to test/replace.

Hello, I just got an ‘08 Honda Metro and want to adjust the valves. Does anyone know of a good website where I can find a shim kit for it?
I’ve also got a KLR650 and there are a couple websites dedicated to DIY mechanics for that bike specifically. Is there a similar website for Metros?

Scooty stalling mid ride...
Okay, so since last one month, my scooty (Burgman) is stalling both at high speed and while I stop at signal. I got it checked at both authorised service center and local mechanic, and after changing the coil, spark plug, fuel filter cleaned and general servicing done, problem still persist and right now I don't know what else am I supposed to do anymore. I bought it 3 years ago,so it's E20 compliant, so fuel may not be the problem, and my commute is pretty simple 15 minutes in the morning to my work place, and then back to my place in evening, and some odd days, mostly on weekends I used it to go to market, so I've hardly rode over 6500 km, and never drove roughly. If anyone knows what could be the potential problem, plz help me out 🙏

Hallo zusammen,
Vielen Dank!

*TL;DR- Are there any aftermarket CVT brands KNOWN for making quality belts similar to OEM but with the name brand price increase? Is there a site like Rockauto but for scooter parts where you can choose your quality and it's priced accordingly but still not OEM name?*
I found a site that is says they sell OEM '21 Kymco Agility 50 belts for my scooter. They are like $80 (before S&H). I see generic aftermarket for my scooter cost around half that or Kevlar closer to ~$120 range.
Can you buy great aftermarket belts and save a bunch? Is there the "Icon tools" version of "SnapOn" in CVT belts?
If not then it is what it is I'll pay the OEM price if it is a lot better.
P.S. Is there a site like Rockauto (USA distribution hubs) for scooters? Where you can choose the quality but it's typically cheaper than manufacturer direct OEM?
Thanks for all the help guys! So many questions for my new (healthy 🤣) obsession.

Hey everyone!
I own a 2019 TVS Jupiter 110cc. Mechanically, it's running perfectly fine, so I don't want to spend money buying another scooter or getting an expensive paint job. The problem is that its body panels are covered in scratches, with a few very minor dents, and it looks pretty rough cosmetically.
I'm on a really tight budget and have only around ₹1,200 to spend. I'm thinking of repainting it myself at home, even though I've never done anything like this before.
I'd love some advice from people who have experience with DIY vehicle painting!
- What type and brand of paint should I buy in India?
- Can I get decent results with spray cans within a ₹1,200 budget?
- What sandpaper, primer, clear coat, and other materials will I need?
- How should I prepare the scratched plastic panels before painting?
- Is it possible to get a reasonably clean, factory-like finish without professional equipment?
- Are there any common mistakes I should avoid as a beginner?
If you've ever repainted your scooter, bike, or any other vehicle yourself, please share your experience, what materials you used, how much it cost, and how the paint held up over time.
I don't mind putting in the time and effort. I just want to make my old Jupiter look presentable again without spending money I don't have.
Thanks in advance! 🙏
