Two years of full time riding
I am now at two years of my 2019 Kymco Xtown 300i as my sole, year round, transportation. When I got the scooter it was just under 1600 miles, now look at it!

I've noticed that quite a lot of scooter riders in my neighborhood just pop their helmets on and then don't bother to strap their helmets on. If you have a helmet like that, and don't strap it on, that makes it not actually a helmet. A helmet with no strap holding it on is just a hat. It won't protect you even slightly in the event of a crash. It'll just fall off and you'll get to enjoy your crash with a naked head.
It's not worth being cool and not strapping your helmet on. Wear your helmet properly. For your own sake.

I think we all had a great time. I rode a total of 1111 miles over the 5 days of the rally.
Day 3 was the 265 mile Devils Triangle. A few of us learned that the Devil's Highway loves to eat tires. The road surface is like sandpaper.
Day 4 was a loop around Big Lake (they aren't too good at finding original names.) ending with brunch in Greer, Arizona. It was a short day of around 80 miles. The scenery was gorgeous.
Day 5 was the ride back to Tucson from Springerville. We took US-60 and rode through the awe inspiring Salt River Canyon. We hit a little bit of rain and wind but we still had fun.

This is a good time to shop for scooters from the Honda dealer. The 2027 ADV 160 was $5,000 and was offering 2 and 3% stupid low interest for 5 years. He offered me a PCX 160 for $3,500. Both are excellent scooters and the ADV 160 would probably be the better choice for me living rural with gravel roads and hills.
My styling preference is for the old fashioned classic scooters with the big wind break in front of your legs and a huge windshield bolted on to the handlebars. And a nice big platform for one's feet. The SH150 is sort of halfway between the modern design and the old classic design. I do not really love the lines on the SH150 but it has the platform and a step through design. It also has 16 in Wheels which without would be a deal breaker because I have gravel roads to deal with. The ADV 160 has much wider tires and are more suitable for gravel roads but I do not blast through the gravel roads on either my car or e-bike. I take my time and enjoy the scenery.
I did watch one video of the ADV 160 where the guy took pains to try to reproduce the sound under his helmet. The ADV may not be loud but it is tuned to get your attention. The SH160 is just quiet and as smooth as can be possible at all speeds.
I am a burned-out old vet and I hate loud exhaust pipes.
Sitting on the ADV and PCX in the showroom was comfortable but it really aggravated my bad knee getting on and off.
After a visit to the Honda dealer I felt comfortable purchasing the 2010 SH150 with only 40 miles on it for $2,000. I overpaid by $500 and it stings a bit seeing what I could have purchased for $3,500 but the sh150 is exactly the scooter I had been wanting all these years.
It is in mint condition and was parked in the owner's bedroom for the past 10 years.
I hope everyone can get out and enjoy this Autumn leaf season as it is quite colorful right now up in Northern New York.

I am 67, in reasonably decent shape. Have a fair amount of experience riding a Vespa Primavera, and I am thinking of getting the Burgman so I can take some trips out of state. I am wondering if I am crazy for thinking of doing this at my age, and what the experience has been for Burgman riders who have travelled interstate.

I'm getting my 125cc license (which for you Americans is a license that in Europe is awarded at 16 years old) I took the theory test 2 weeks ago, and since I can already drive with the pink license, I wanted to go to my driving school alone, but there are 3 problems:
- I've only been driving for 2 weeks
- the driving school is 24 km from my house
- and the temperature in the morning is 12 degrees Celsius
Do you think I should let it go and get accompanied?
If you are interested, the scooter this one

Just bought this second hand the other day and the guy showed me how to pop the seat and did it with ease but since then I have run out of gas and really need this seat off but I cannot for the life of me. Is this just a stubborn ignition or did I somehow mess with the cable?

apologies if this has been asked before, i tried to search the sub but only found posts with people asking how to get confident riding again after a fall etc, which isn't what i'm looking for haha
wasn't a high speed crash or anything, got caught in the rain on my 50cc honda and slid while braking and did what i can only describe as an unintentional akira slide sideways into the ground
i was dressed for the slide as they say, so i am unscathed, and the scooter seems fine (had like a mile left to go so i rode it the rest of the way home without incident ¯_(ツ)_/¯
the mirror was already loose and held in with epoxy and a prayer ahaha so it didn't really get any more broken than it already was, gonna just epoxy it back in place again, but everything else seems fine....?
but as a relatively new scooter-er, i wonder, is there something i should be checking so it doesn't like explode the next time i ride it? (joking)

Anyone having a hard time finding front tires online in size 120/70-16? Ebay only has stock overseas and no US websites have any Michelin or Pirelli in that size (only Kenda).

Moin liebe Community,
Vielen Dank vorab!

I have a Lance Cali Classic 125. Gy6 platform, pretty modified. I'm needing a taller final drive. Almost everything I'm seeing has 15mm shaft for the bearings and I need 12mm. I do see kits for 50-100cc with 12mm but am unsure if they are correct for mine. If anyone cwn point me in the right direction id be incredibly grateful. Please and thanks

I just got my driver's license and I'm looking into all the vehicles I could get, there's a lot of things that I really like, but most of them have one big thing I really don't like the cost, not just of buying the thing itself but gas and insurance forever onwards. Turns out for motorcycles those expenses are a fraction of the cost so it's decided. But they also take a special license, but with my regular license in my area I can drive anything with 50cc or 49cc (what's the difference) they don't count just not on highways.
In some ways it seems perfect, I could get all around the city I could cut a half hour off my commute I could still have some money left in my bank account. But idk, maybe I'll buy it then realize highways are more useful/harder to avoid than I thought, or the places I really wanted to go all along were outside the city not inside and I'll be stuck in a cage just a tad bigger than the one I'd escaped.
And one of the main reasons to get a motorcycle I think is to pick up women have them hold onto you close their eyes and scream as you go thrice the legal limit, but in my case I'll struggle to go 0.75x the limit they'll be yawning falling asleep, if they get on at all, because although I can recognize the beauty in these things idk what the common perception is. So with regards to women it's possible I'd get none of the upsides of a motorcycle, plus the downsides of not being able to have sex in it as one would a in a car. This is actually my number one concern I think.
Also, I live in a very cold far northern corner of the world, actually it snew just last weekend, so this is a dream for spring really, and I'd be lucky to get six months of good riding conditions, idk if that changes my calculations compared to a guy in southeast asia.
My idea is if I love it I love it if I hate it I use it as practice get my motorcycle license sell it and buy something else, but if I could preemptively say I'll hate it I could just skip to trying to get my motorcycle license.
