After a little detour owning an Alfa Romeo, i'm finally back in a Saab. Have owned this one for a few months now and i'm as happy as i can be.

It has 385000km and just passed the yearly inspection with flying colours, no faults or advisories.🎉

-Right and left outer lights & bracket that holds them in on driver side (Second most important, driver side mainly)
-key antenna ring (MOST IMPORTANT)
- front driver and passenger door handles
- front passenger door trim
-driver bottom door trim
-driver side backseat headrest (doesn’t lock upright)

If anyone can help me in finding where to purchase these parts or have any of these parts and are trying to sell them please hit me up.

I’m trying to help my uncle sell it, he says everything works properly on it. He says he had a car that had a bad crack on the engine so he parted it out and just has this assembly leftover. Tell me what y’all think it is worth and if you happen to be interested and local(I’m assuming no one’s going to want to pay shipping for something like this but lmk)

Located on the passenger side, lower half of the vehicle, 2007 saab 9-5 aero, its cracked and smells like fuel so i assume its part of the evap system, is it the charcoal canister? There was a cotton pad inside.

Today was one of the last days in NY I could take her out before storing. Ran great as always.

So I just pulled out the timing chain tensioner on a 2.3t 9-5 from 2001, however the actual plastic "guide/plunger" that's meant to sit inside of the spring is missing.

I either dropped it or it broke off and disappeared.

Can I make a make a new "plunger" out of metal if I have acess to a lathe? Or does it have to be plastic?

Just anyway to avoid having to buy a entire new tensioner/piston just because the tiny plastic piece is gone?

The tensioner was also also quite extended, about 17.5-18 on the "inner lengh" but that's hardly a surprise with how poorly it's previous owner treated it. Is the chain likely toast if its that far extended?

Plan on drain and filling this trans 2-3 times soon. Checking saab workshop manual it calls for a leveling process at the end. I cant perform the procedure as i only have 2 jackstands and would like to avoid buying 2 more. My idea is simple. Have car jacked, drain trans, measure exactly how much came out, pour exactly that amount back in. Lower car, drive a day, repeat. And yes this is all done with car completely cold. Any experts / diyers whove done this procedure please let me know if its worthwhile or if i should pay a shop to do the level procedure...

Once again, am looking for some SAABs within DFW area of Texas for free photo shoots.

Been driving a truck for 20 years and want something lighter for short trips and weekend trails. Budget around 3k so it's mostly 900s and 9000s in my area. Problem is half the listings have zero service history and the other half are already parted out or overpriced.

I can handle basic wrenching between hauls but don't want to chase electrical gremlins every week. Curious what years or specific models hold up better for someone who's gone more often than home. Also tracking fuel use and maintenance costs pretty closely so any real world numbers on these cars in dailyish use would help.

Thinking of picking up a '93-98 900 if the price is right, but the 9000s seem like they might be easier on the highway. Any thoughts on what to actually look for when checking one out?

I had many cars like bmws,Volvos, mercs and so on but this car i loved the most. And old saab 9⁵ aero from 2003.

there is something special about it that I cant put my finger on. Maybe I like it because its different and odd and it is suprisingly quick for a heavy familycar.

Do you all feel the same as me about theese old cars?

Asking for opinion on how my Saab 9-3 2.0T 2006 145,000 miles engine looks. Yesterday, I was at a local quick oil change shop and the mechanic accidentally dropped a screw/nut into the engine -- i am assuming he dropped it into the oil intake hole. To take it out, they removed the top cover of the engine and I took the photo.

How does the state of my engine look? Is there anything that sticks out that I should be aware of and look into fixing?

Looking to drive it to 200,000 miles...

A new gasket + spark plugs were installed while the cover was off.

A friend bought a saab 99 from his grandpa, the engine was already out. We dissasembled the head to check the damage under (stood still for 20 years)

Luckily it is not the worst. I would like to know any tips or attentionpoints on old engines like these. Since the troubleshoot tags dont go further than the 900 classic this post is more of a check. Any help is appreciated!

Hey guys i have a 2011 saab 9-3 convertible and I was really interested in putting a "Pioneer AVH-3500NEX" in my saab in place of the factory radio as I think the flip out screen for carplay and such is really cool and matches the vibes of the saab. Im a bit lost on exactly what harness and conversions I need and I was wondering if anybody knows which of them I need or where I can go to figure it out.

Just replaced the window regulator and motor on my rear passenger door after buying the car with both rear windows unable to go up or down via door controls or master/driver controls.

After replacement the window won't work at all using the switch on the door itself but when holding the drivers control the window goes up and down after a while but only after holding down the button for a long time and even then it seems to pause halfway and then come all the way up.

I can see the window symbol light randomly come ON and OFF on the rear passenger door card which was happening even before I replaced the regulator but I still don't have full control of my rear windows.

(Currently waiting on the regulator for the drivers side rear so I can see if the same problem happens)

I have tried contact cleaner in both the window switches and the main door loom but still no success.

Can I swap door card and switches from side to side to trouble shoot?

Any help is appreciated

**UPDATE**

Just finished the same job on the driver side rear and it works perfectly, both the door switch and the drivers switch make the window go up and down smoothly. So something is definitely wrong on the passenger rear.

I am looking to replace the fuel pump on my 91 900 turbo. What parts will I need? Can anything be reused? Anyone whose done this any advice would be greatly appreciated

On October 10, the closing of the season of Swedish car owners in Moscow took place. It was cool, though a little cold) We are looking forward to the new season!

I am very pleased to say the worst engine swap done in saab history is finally done. Now to fix the rest of it again. Motor makes a bit of a tick but no worse than the original engine, suspension is effed, there's a boost leak somewhere cause it only makes 6 psi, and the interior is still disassembled after I ​fixed ​​​the throttle cable. BUT SHE FUCKIN DRIVES!!!!!!!​​​​

Hello, my fellow Saabists!

I am the owner of a 2008 Saab 9-5 Linear based in South Korea, and a member of a local Saab community named "New Saab Club."

We had a small car meet in Seoul on last Saturday. Nearly 20 Saabs gathered, and we had a fantastic time together! I'm sharing some photos from the meet.

I hope this serves as a nice reminder that there are passionate Saab enthusiasts all around the world, including right here in South Korea.

Our community currently has about 370 members, and I estimate there are still around 1,000 Saabs active on Korean roads today (official statistics showed 1,449 back in 2021). Saab officially sold cars in Korea from 1988 to 2009.

Whenever I get the chance, I’d love to share more stories about our Korean Saab community. We may be small in number, but we are a very tight-knit group.
