What is your worst pet peeve regarding coworkers who steal lunches from the fridge?

My worst pet peeve has to be when a coworker swipes your lunch from the office fridge and then acts like nothing happened when you ask around about it. Last month I brought in a container of leftover chili that I had spent time making the night before. I left it on the second shelf with my name written on the lid in marker. By lunchtime the whole thing was gone and someone had even tossed the empty container back in the trash like they were doing me a favor.

What gets to me most is not just the theft itself but the way these people never own up to it. You end up standing there hungry while everyone else pretends they did not see anything. One time I had to run out and buy a sad gas station sandwich because my planned meal disappeared again. It threw off my whole afternoon and made me feel like I could not even trust the basic setup at work anymore.

I have tried little things like putting a note on my food or using a locked lunch bag but nothing seems to stop it for long. Some folks just keep doing it and the rest of us end up paying for replacements or going without.

Have you noticed any patterns with who tends to take things or how people react once they get caught? I would like to hear what your worst pet peeve is in these situations and whether anything actually worked to cut down on it.

Having pets is wonderful, but dealing with pet hair everywhere is exhausting.

I love how much happiness pets bring into a home, but I think most pet owners would agree that the cleaning never really ends.

You wash their blankets, clean the couches, vacuum the floors, and somehow there’s still fur everywhere.

Pet ownership is worth it, but the constant cleaning is probably one of its least enjoyable parts.

Anyone else agree?

The fact that PIN is three letters is a four digit code

WHY? Why couldnt it be a three digit code? It's not like its unsafe (3 digit codes have ~1000 combos), and it wouldnt be too harrd to find a four letter word for it. So why? WHy is it like this???????

Title: What's a completely normal thing that secretly annoys you way more than it should? 😂

I'll go first: People who watch videos on full volume in public without headphones 😭 Like bro, we’re all part of your Netflix subscription now??

I know it's not that serious, but WHY does it bother me so much?

Everyone has that one tiny, completely irrational pet peeve that makes them lose their mind for absolutely no reason.

What's yours? 👇

No judgment. Let's see how petty we can get. 💀

Adding This to a Post

Such a stupid pet peeve but hey good place to post it then eh?

Like 90% of posts I read on here people will share some info when introducing a situation in the beginning of their Reddit posts then write “(this is important for later)” or “this is relevant remember this.”

Like. Dude. Of COURSE it is or you wouldn’t be including that information. We know. We get it. You don’t have to say that.

Sigh. So dumb of me.

Assuming everyone knows the location

I'm on several activity subReddits (e.g., bicycling, cross country skiing, paddleboarding) and I often see posts like "June Lake was awesome today" or "Great riding in the Willamette Valley now" or "Stay away from Hunters notch due to bad snow".  I often don't know the location they refer to and this is my pet peeve.

I'm not sure why posters do this. My thoughts are (1) they assume everyone knows a location like "June Lake" (2) they expect you to look it up if interested or (3) they don't realize that people from all over the world are reading their post.

Do you think it is OK to point out that this post is global and many of us do not know the location or should I just let it slide?

What is a small thing that instantly ruins your mood, even if it is minor?

For me, it’s definitely something minor like stepping in a small puddle of water right after putting on clean, fresh socks, or having a zipper get completely stuck when I'm already running late. It is crazy how the absolute smallest inconveniences can completely throw off your energy for the hour. I am just curious what kind of minor everyday things test everyone else's patience the most. What is that one small thing for you?

Vote abstention being not considered, vote absentees bashed as supporters of working class repression. Ultimately the hyper focus on votes being a agent of change

Edit: iIm putting this up here so you don’t scroll past it. Im not saying “you shouldn’t vote” I’m saying there are political reasons people do not vote and you need to recognize this from the perspective of these people, not from the perspective of the state which interprets this as something that can entirely be avoided, it should be noticed that people do not vote & why

There are people who come around every election season who repeat the old tale of “if you don’t vote you vote for evil!!”
This people are supremely annoying. First, voting is not going to bring about the changes you need, voting invites incremental changes, that is why the french are so quick to act, they understand this well.

I abstain from voting because none of the parties represent the needs of the working class, the ones that appear to, will do so to act as some kind of middle man between the working class & financial elite. This is pathetic & I refuse to participate!

The anarchists call this, voting with your feet. Much more effective at bringing about change then voting for a party that is aligned with the economic elite, is bringing about this change through community organizing & a raising of the consciousness of people through this community organizing.

In comes the scarred liberal fool “ you just want the right to win”. The Democratic Party is a right wing party that supports imperialist endeavours while putting on a pretty face, they have taken part in everything as bad as the republicans have, which is arguably worse because they are dishonest about it. You have not ground for supporting the democrats unless you support the system of theft of the third world which affords you your high standards of living you incarnates of Cecil Rhodes.

Using gay in a derogatory context

As a straight man it pains me when others use gay in a derogatory context. I'm sure the homosexual community isn't a fan of ot either. It's taboo to say the N word or the R word but not this?

People who claim OCD or say “ my ocd cant cope with that” and are needlessly pedantic.

Absolutely not at all speaking poorly of people who have ocd , actually i think its disrespectful when people treat it as some quirky personality trait regarding their needless perfectionism, or as an excuse to enforce how they think stuff should be organised.

Honestly im a pretty clean person everything in work i organise is clean disinfected frequently and organised. And the same goes for where i live i have a colleague who looks over everything i do and spouts some rubbish about “ ooh my ocd cant handle this” and will literally take down everything i put in pin board because its slightly off centre or some rubbish like that, another fave is organising shower gel bottles in order of most to least filled like get a life or get annoyed at me because something delivered for me was left in office space for more than five minutes . its organised its clean stop pushing your perfectionism its needless and an excuse to exersise control and belittle people.

Boomers thinking someone "making" an AI pic requires any sort of skill

One of my coworkers is really big on Canva AI to make her presentations look done up, and my boomer coworker always talks about how good she is at it like it's a talent. She literally didn't do anything but click the little Canva jazzify option??? that doesn't require any sort of skill😭

Similarly my dad was so impressed his friends were able to "make" a photo of him playing poker in his white coat with a golf course in the background. When I explained to him they literally just sent chat gpt a pic of you and said to add those things he was like "but they're so good at it" GOOD AT WHAT? Dad this conversation required more thinking than inserting "put guy in doctor outfit and make background golf course" into a prompt.

EDIT: (not changing anything above) but adding that I probably shouldn’t have said boomers. Anyone can say this, I just happen to notice it with boomers.

Conversation Vampires

when you're at work or a party or something and get into a conversation with a group of people (4-5 ppl) and things are going really well... the baton of conversation is getting passed around as everyone shares their anecdotes and the rest listen... and then, the conversation vampire strikes!!! they catch your eye, grabbing your attention, and pull you out of the main group conversation to have a side-bar.

I fkn hate this... it's super awkward and im always trying to find a way to kindly and quickly end the side bar and jump back into the group

big pet peeve
