Recently, the Dutch marine mammal hospital Stichting Zeehondencentrum Pieterburen has asked the public for help in the face of an imminent financial crisis. If unresolved in two weeks, they will be forced into bankruptcy, which will result in the ceasing of their operations and research, and the closure of their facility. This will leave the marine mammal populations they serve vulnerable to the various threats they face, including those that are human-caused. With the harbor seal population in the area declining, their rescue operations and research cannot afford to stop.

They are the biggest marine mammal hospital in Europe and do incredible work in way of public marine health education. Please sign their petition to re-enter a dialogue with their local government for financial assistance options, and if you are able, please donate to their official GoFundMe campaign. Dear community, I'd like to help highlight the issue of the WEC, seal resque center in the Netherlands, being close to bankcrupcy. Due to their move to UNESCO Waddenzee they were met with a ton og unplanned repairs and investments, causing them to be in severe debt. If their debt isn't settled they might have to close in 2 weeks, right before seal pupping season.

This would mean all animals, those currently in care or rehab, and future seals needing help, would loose a significant support system here in Europe.

Please please please, if you can even spare €1, a like, a share, a whatever, it would help them tremendously.
