Also looking for a good holster if anyone knows of somewhere other than Etsy. Also curious it anyone else carries a comblock pistol

FN-49 Serial number 1
Hey guys, i wanted to show off this neat rifle i picked up, its an FN-49 sniper rifle, and it appears to be SN# 01, the rifle has no crest and appears un-issued, unfortunately it has the wrong scope, but I am in the process of finding the correct one.

Condition check
Having a hard time telling if these Yugo rifles are minty or heavily reworked. The numbers on the stock are raised and fairly crisp. Thoughts?

From the Rocky Mountain News, October 15, 1946.
Sort of the golden age of military surplus.

Original vs Refurbished
I’ve been looking up the quality of Mitchell’s Mausers and the post war refurbished Mosin Nagants and I’m trying to see if someone has experience with those vs something like a good condition K31? The Mosin and something like a Kar98K would be more relevant to WW2’s history which I think is cooler but these are also refurbished rifles and I don’t know what the quality of them is. I know most people like genuine surplus rifles because of the actual history of them so I’m curious which you’d go for and why?
I think I just found a Vietnam Bring back MAC 1950
I bought this from a pawn shop for ~$500. There are no import marks anywhere on it. I know these were very rare in the US until a few years ago. So I am guessing this is a ‘Nam bring back.

Destroyer Carbine
Took my Destroyer carbine out yesterday with my Yugo 24/47. I found this in a pawn shop while I was doing paperwork for a Nagant revolver, haha. Not a bad little rifle, I'd shoot it a lot more if I could shoot normal 9x19 out of it. I pick up 9mm Largo whenever I find it.

Help with Taz 57 Rucksack straps
This might not be a milsurp question and might be more of a backpack question in general, but how can I fix the straps on this bag?
I just got a Taz 57 rucksack, which normally clips onto a Swiss M70 jacket, that was modernized to have straps. However they are not adjustable and it hangs really low if weight is put in it. Any tips for shortening it up the straps? Anyone have a similar bag? I love alpenflage and would love to use this as a school/range bag, but not if it hangs that low. Thanks yall!

Luger and cert from ww2, my great grandpa was a sergeant and brought this home.
I'd never sell it, but I am curious what it's worth for insurance purposes. To me it's priceless.

Finnish M30 Mosin rifle
Got this for a fairly reasonable price I’d like to think for a Finnish rifle (4 bennies and a Grant). All numbers match except the butt plate. On a 1938 Tula receiver, in what looks to be a Russian stock with some splice repairs on the front, and parts wise it’s an overall Heinz 57. But regardless for all pretty uncommon Mosin, I’m happy with it!

German Marked FN Hi Power value - follow up
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Following up on my previous post - local gun store is asking 780$, internals are in solid/good condition, bore is okay, lightly pitted but with visible and sharp(ish) rifling. Slide and frame are matching, barrel is unmarked. Do I cop it?

1876 Oviedo Rolling Block
Figured I'd come on here and share my latest and oldest milsurp. An 1876 Oviedo Rolling block that was listed as being chambered in an unknown 35 caliber. Within 20 minutes of it showing up I had the chamber cast and to my surprise it was 357! Gun has been reblued and is in pretty good shape. Anyone know anything about Fenwick Barrels? Deep dived on the Internet and found nothing. Anyone ever seen another Spanish rolling block chambered in 357 like this?

Need help identifying these suspenders
Dont know if this is the right place but i need help.
For context I live on Poland and my neighbour is a recently retired army major. He dropped a box of old stuff from his time in service, mostly some older polish WZ uniforms but I can't seem to identify these suspenders. If anyone can help me find out what they are and if they're worth anything on the surplus market I'd highly appreciate it.
Google keeps telling me that they're an old czech model but there's several differences between them so I doubt that that's the answer.

How cooked am I
Just picked up this 7mm Mauser rolling block. Pitting up and down the barrel (only under the wood btw) but it’s a little rough around the breech. Was hoping to shoot it :/

Lee Harvey Oswald type guns?
My qualifications:
1. Gun keeps all furniture intact
2. Older style scope and mount that would not look entirely out of place as a faux-sniper type gun
Enfield for example:
I know the scope and mount aren’t quite the right time frame for the 40s, but certainly the 60s. Hence, why I created the “Lee Harvey Oswald” category. Do these styles of gun have a name or are we gonna just refer to them as this from now on?

Help Finding Scope for a 1903a4
I recently acquired an 03a4 without a scope. The base is there just need the rings and optic. I’ve seen repros for sale on Sarco and Numrich. Are those worth the price or should I just try to find an original?

Went to range
Decided to shoot 2 of my batt rifles. One was the the 03A3 I bought in Germany in the mid 80's when i was stationed there. And the other was my M1 Garand, 03 is Remington, Garand is Winchester. Both made in 43.

So… oil or grease for the bolt?
Angles, recesses, steel on steel, lugs. Should I use lubricating oil or grease on the bolts of my milsurps? Does the world milsurp have a plural?
I never put so much that collect dirt and debris that could impact functioning, and the bolt face and firing pin stay clean. But what do you use? Yes, you.
I use it both internally and externally, sometimes I go with grease, sometimes with oil. But I can’t decide what’s better. Am I retarded? Maybe, probably even.
I just want to pick one and stay coherent. Every time I disassemble a bolt and clean it I stumble upon the dilemma. This week I lean towards grease.

Having issue with my schmidt rubin 1889 bolt locking up
Hi yall. I took my schmidt Rubin out of storage today and had a very, very hard time opening the action. I eventually got the bolt out of the gun and tool it apart following a guide on youtube. I cleaned it and lut it back together when I noticed something. In the video the locking sleeve seems to move around freely while mine binds up at the point showed in the 2nd picture. I believe this is what is causing my issue. The gun worked great, and all Ive ever shot through it are my own low power loads. What should I do? I tried lubricating it and cleaning it with 000 steel wool to no success.

Milsurp in Yemen
Saw these pics today and had to share. Recent photos from Yemen showing Houthi rebel supporters with some very recognizable rifles. History lives on..... (credit to apnews).
