Unskippable ad I keep getting threatening texts

I get these ALL the time. I’ve never donated to these “people.” Never supported them. Never voted for them. Nor has my wife. I received four of these today. All threats. Always a telling me it’s my last chance. These are some of the less malicious-sounding ones.

I’m not even sure they’re legitimately from those parties, though I wouldn’t put it past them.

So… report as spam. Report as spam. Report as spam.

It isn’t like it’s painful. Just pretty irritating.

You know if you respond with "Fuck off" It auto unsubscribes you right?

Just block the number and report it as spam. Never respond to an unsolicited text.

I've been getting the same texts and I just reply fuck you and it unsubscribes me. However I still get upwards of 3 a day

If they’re from the same number or organization, you can sue them for a nice chuck of change if you made it clear and they kept messaging you

Not from the same number. Or even area code.

I get a couple a month and all I do is hit the report spam button. It’s almost as if my method works better than yours.

I report spam on every political text message. I still get 2-5 a day.

I was shocked when it worked...now I take a sick pleasure out of it.

Tested this before.

Complete opposite effect for me. Sure they don’t text from that number but I end up getting like up to 3 a day when I do usually. Now I get like 1 a week

Yes, I did this a few years ago. I never heard from a Republican candidate again.

My phone has "block and report spam". As a company that sent out customer messages before, we learned that if too many customers report us as spam, we got limited by our provider. So, hopefully that is still a thing.

I just assume that step 0.7 is to add my number to the list that the sender will sell to someone else before doing step 1 unsubscribe.

It also lets them know that there’s a real person so they can sell your number for more money.

Reporting spam works for me on iPhone but not replying would be my second move. Never reply unsubscribe. Legally, they can’t text you anymore but they can sell your number as “verified” now.

Political ads come from voter registration rolls....they already know there's a person at the end of the line.

I did that with Steve Hilton and got an unsubscribe message. Lasted about two weeks before I got a new solicitation.

Nothing unsubscribes you. I’ve tried it all.
