No it must be depression. Consult your nearest witch doctor.

Reddit always thinks everything is depression.
Sometimes people are just lazy.

u/bathroom_cheese 1d ago
Laziness can lead to depression and vice versa. It's the disease that makes you not want to treat it.

u/justmanbearpig 17h ago
lazyness will not lead to depression. it might lead to sadness once you realize that you are useless. people dont understand that sadness and depression are not the same thing. but that wont stop people from making excuses and pretending they cant to anything about it.

You're wrong.
Reddit doesn't always think it's Depression. Sometimes they say it's ADHD or autism.
The Reddit Holy Trinity. Everyone has at least one.

the problem is often at times you do try things none of which works and it slowly puts you into a hole and you kinda just lack the energy to wanna help yourself due to w.e reason
as someone whos has delt with depression in the past year
example Say Family members are fighting, you dont like the fact they get angry and get angry at you over random Bs, you understand / know its for valid reasons but still you do something they lash out or it feels like lashing out
there mom just died yeah i can see them being upset sad, Lashing out coz i 4got my cousin mom middle name for a moment? I Can understand the sadness disapointment but sometimes its like stfu

Just focus on one thing. Like just get up and do one thing today and stop yourself at a certain time even if you feel you can do more.

My buddy tells me I'm a self-loathing man of inaction. That shit resonated with my soul.

Honestly sometimes you even ok money and some friends and your life is still a complete mess and you watch yourself do nothing. I’ve been in a depressed hole most of my life and been struggle to keep off the bottom of the ocean. Some years it’s ok, others I barely scrape by. Last year and 1/2 ive been unemployed and just burned out and in a mid life crisis. Been lucky enough money wise Im not broke. Have a good friend or two. So I have nothing to really complain about. “1st world problems”. But honestly struggle not to be depressed as hell and I just watch myself rot. I do try to be kind with myself, try to do what I can not make it worse. But it’s a life long struggle. Been on medications and therapy for years too.

Intermittent fasting and 1500 calorie limit. But over 5 failed antidepressants and being a gamer, im staying sad and having no friends. Steam sales unbroke my wallet.

Don’t beat yourself up. It’s so much harder to improve without positive input, so first thing for you is to just not fixate on the first image. It’s easy to feel that way tho and you’re not at fault for seeing it like that, but it’s possible to downplay it and carry on. Good luck!

It won't get better unless you want it to get better. Nobody will help you. You must help yourself.

Yeah, I know. It is what it is.

u/Traditional-Bread678 1d ago
That mindset will get you nowhere in life.
2
u/SquirrelNormal 1d ago
Neither has trying lol. Don't worry, I'll lay some newspaper down when it's time to do the decent thing.

u/Traditional-Bread678 1d ago
You haven't tried hard enough.

u/SquirrelNormal 1d ago
Ah, yes, because you know what I have or haven't tried, for how long. Get a grip, mate.
1
u/Traditional-Bread678 1d ago
Get a grip on your life. If you give up, you're not doing yourself any favors.

I agree with the other guy. I did try to fight my ass out of this pit, but sometimes, it's useless and will only worsen the situation. Just a simple exemple : let's say you're locked into a room, with nothing. You can try to break the walls by repeatedly hitting them with your head, or just wait. Let's say you DID hit the wall repeatedly with your head, noticed it was painful and the wall didn't move. Would you still be trying ?
1
u/Traditional-Bread678 14h ago
Yep, I would. I'm not like you; I'm stronger, so I wouldn't give up like you :)
2
u/ResponsibilityBest26 14h ago
And you'd be in more pain, and still be locked in. But I read you were 20, so it's normal you think this way. I really hope you'll still think like this in a few years, but I doubt you will.

Nobody cares. I don't deserve to "do myself a favor", and there's no point at this stage in my life. It's not hurting anyone to give up.
1
u/Traditional-Bread678 23h ago
Except yourself, and if that's truly what you believe, then perhaps it is too late for you. Life throws all kinds of challenges at us, but it our strength and willpower that will carry us through it.
1
u/SquirrelNormal 23h ago
Oh no, a loser is going to be a loser.
Like I said, nobody cares. I can't willpower my way out of being too dumb for a degree, or get my DUI removed. So why bother even crawling out of bed in the morning?

neither will the one you have. Plenty of people will help you, you just have to ask. Stop furthering this hyper individualist mindset, its damaging.
1
u/Traditional-Bread678 14h ago
Nope, nobody truly helps you out of the hole you put yourself in. It's up to you to climb out of it. But hey, if my mindset is so damaging, I apologize, but you'll be alright :)

I’ve reached the dangerous point where I don’t care anymore.
Whatever happens, happens.
