Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging My grandma doesn’t share much about her cancer and I just saw her CA-125 results. I’m looking for information, advice, and ideas on how I can to help her better. NSFW

Background: She was diagnosed with stage 4 endometrial cancer in 2018 and was given 5 years to live. She went through chemotherapy and was told (or so she says) that she is basically in remission.

May 2026: She went through multiple hospitalizations due to swelling on her brain after a craniotomy surgury, doctors don’t believe the swelling was from surgery. After monitoring, she recovered and after a week was admitted back to the ICU for swelling in the ventricles. That increased for a week and they placed a shunt. She was then in a nursing home.

End of September: She’s home and isn’t the same but has stabilized and can do most ADLs with monitoring for falls.

Mid-October 2026 (current): She’s been home for a little while, has improved stability but seems pretty tired. She had her tests completed for her cancer specialist appointment on Friday. I won’t be able to attend the appointment.

Her CA-125 essentially went from being 30 in February to 60 this week. What should I know? I don’t know much.

Thank you 🙏

Urine Scared for Urodynamics test, and do I reschedule if I’m on my period? NSFW

I have a Eurodynamics exam soon and I’m terrified. Do I really have to pee in front of healthcare professionals? Do they stick a tube up my urethra? I’ve started my period, does that necessitate rescheduling? Help me. I’m so scared.

General Question/Discussion Doctors of Reddit I'm 22 and have blood pressure 160/80/70, any ideas why? NSFW

I'm aware there could be a bunch of reasons, so obviously I will visit a doctor soon, but in the meantime I'm curious and would like to see what you suggest.

Im 22 years old, 75kg and 182cm.

I had Pericarditis from Covid a few years ago, no treatment and no idea if I still have it, I assume not?

Also some problem with "the mitral valve" not sure If it's that one exactly but I have a photo of which one if needed, it was moving abnormally or something.

My SYS measures at 130-165, other values stay at around 70-80, my bloodwork is mostly fine but my hemoglobin is at the upper limit.

I exercise, eat fairly healthy, but I am a casual smoker/substance user, I avoid alcohol.

I sometimes get dizzy when standing up so I would assume my blood pressure is sometimes also low, I also get headaches from high blood pressure.

All my life I had constant stims (bouncing my leg, biting my lips and many others). I really don't even notice it cause of how much I do it but if it's tied to stress I guess it could also raise my blood pressure.

I will happily answer to any questions and add that info to this list if needed.

Dad has high blood pressure and is on medication and Mom has episodes of high blood pressure.

General Question/Discussion How do you get surgery outside of your state if you cant be approved in your own? NSFW

My partner has endometriosis as well as pcos, her uterus and a lot of the stuff around it is causing them agony and she needs either a partial or total hysterectomy, but shes 24 and lives in Florida and despite being told that she is functionally infertile and that a baby would either horribly harm her or be born with extreme complications that they cant consider removing ot until shes at least 30. Doctors have hardly been any help and shes essentially had to beg on her hands and knees for them tk even look at her. We're long distance, I live in Nevada and with it being a blue state I'm positive they'd give them a hysterectomy here but I have no experience navigating a situation like this and theres no one we can think of to ask for advice about this. Does anyone have any experience or tips about anything remotely like this? I'm at a loss

Lab Results/X-Ray/Imaging Cervical spine extension/flexion x-ray explanation? (results included) NSFW Spoiler

Just trying to understand the findings. My OT suspects CCI and is afraid to assign exercises without a neurology consult. I have to get an MRI for insurance to approve that, and I need x-rays to approve MRI, so...

Also, I didn't want to exacerbate my spine, so I restricted my movement for the imaging (I've been advised not to push myself to end range motions). Should I have hit end ranges for more informative results...?

Pain Lvl 1-3 Infected Staples 11 Days From Application? Need Help Figuring Out. NSFW Spoiler

Progression from day 1 to day 11 (today). Doctor advised to put vaseline daily on wound. Have kept stitches dry and washed with water and soap plus vaseline afterwards, as instructed. Incision is still closed and seems to be doing well. I have no serious pain. Pain has been reducing over the days, just a stinging from time to time. Redness has been reducing but not going away (?). There is no continuous drainage from staple entry points but have this yellow, almost clear liquid substance there. Where it’s coming from there was dried-up yellow crust (as shown in the second-to-last image), which I think got rehydrated after I didn’t put Vaseline the day prior. I don’t think this is an infection but would like some medical advice as I don’t want to take a trip to urgent care right now.

General Question/Discussion Started taking D9 gummies to help me sleep, now I’m having weird GI issues and not sure how to fix it. NSFW

Hey yall, I’m a bit of a newbie to all this so forgive my naïveté.

About a month ago, i started taking half of a 5mg D9 gummy to help me sleep a few nights a week. I have a tendency to stay up working or scrolling longer than i should, and it started to affect my heart health, so i was pretty excited when i found out that taking a gummy about an hour and a half before i wanted to be asleep would ensure my brain would stop being able to work and force me to lay down at the right time. it was like a timer and VERY helpful. i didn’t take it every night but it was often enough. probably like 4-5/7 nights a week for only two weeks.

however, a couple weeks ago i started having really bad indigestion, heart burn, and burping a lot. i had no idea where it was coming from until i saw someone talking about how cannabinoids can mess with your stomach’s ability to regulate and digest food. i put two and two together and realized that my stomach issues were probably caused by the gummies. now, i’m no stranger to gut issues, but these were strangely persistent and weren’t really impacted by antacid tablets or water or anything. the heartburn would just come back.

i was curious if anyone else has dealt with this or if anyone has any solutions? i’ve started working more probiotic foods into my diet to hopefully encourage my gut microbiome to recover, but if anyone has better ideas i am open to it.

TLDR; i started taking D9 gummies to help me sleep and now im having horrible indigestion because of it. help?

General Question/Discussion Sildenafil 25/50 mg vs Dapoxetine 30 mg vs Combination — What Would Be the Safest and Most Effective Option for My Situation? NSFW

Hi everyone,
I’m around 25 years old, and I’m looking for advice from people who have experienced similar issues or have medical knowledge about erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation (PE).
I’m having difficulties during sex with my girlfriend, and it’s affecting my confidence quite a lot.
Here’s my situation:
● During masturbation: I can usually achieve a fully hard erection.
● During foreplay and kissing: I can also get a strong erection.
● During penetration: My erection sometimes becomes soft or doesn’t stay hard enough, making penetration difficult.
● Ejaculation: When penetration does happen, I usually ejaculate in less than a minute. On some previous attempts, I ejaculated before penetration or within seconds.
● Possible performance anxiety: I feel nervous because I’ve experienced these difficulties repeatedly, and I’m worried about it happening again.
My main goals are to maintain a firm erection during penetration and improve my ejaculation control. Ideally, I’d like to last around 5 minutes or longer, but I also want to enjoy sex without constantly worrying about my performance.
I’m considering these options:
1. Sildenafil 25 mg or 50 mg alone.
2. Dapoxetine 30 mg alone.
3. A combination of sildenafil 50 mg + dapoxetine 30 mg.
I’m particularly interested in whether the combination is appropriate for someone who experiences both erection difficulties during penetration and ejaculation in under a minute, even though erections are generally good during masturbation and foreplay.
I’d like to try a treatment at least once before my next intimate encounter with my girlfriend, which I expect in the next few months. However, I don’t want to take unnecessary risks or use the wrong medication.
My questions are:
1. Based on this pattern, could performance anxiety be contributing to my erection difficulties?
2. Which of these options is generally more appropriate when someone has both erection-maintenance difficulties and premature ejaculation?
3. Is sildenafil 25 mg worth considering before moving to 50 mg?
4. Would dapoxetine alone be sufficient if the erection problem is mainly anxiety-related?
5. Is taking sildenafil and dapoxetine together safe for a first-time user, or should they only be combined under medical supervision?
6. What side effects or contraindications should I know about before considering either medication?
I’m not currently taking any regular medication. I would appreciate evidence-based advice, especially from people who have dealt with a similar situation or healthcare professionals.
I understand that everyone’s response is different, and I’m not looking for a guaranteed result. I just want to make an informed and safe decision instead of experimenting blindly.
Thanks in advance.

Okay look, I'm pretty sure it's a weird hair follicle but it's really creeping me out. Idk what it is, it's rock hard and I can't see any eyes or discoloration that would make me think it's a bug? But on the other hand my brain is convinced it's a bug so I need reassurance or answers 😭 is it a bug? Is it some weird pimple or hair follicle?

Hello I’m a 27M and I have had this bump at the base of my penis for about 2 weeks now. It hasn’t gotten any bigger or changed appearance, nor has it ever hurt or really itched. I’m freaking out and have never seen anything like this in my genital area. I’ve been with the same person for over a year and haven’t had any issues until the above timeline. Both of these photos are from the same time just with different angles. It’s definitely more noticeable and appears when I’m erect vs. flaccid. Any idea on what it could be?

General Question/Discussion Sudden itchy red dots on thighs after running, worried about kitten NSFW Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I’ve been getting these red dots on my skin, mostly on my thighs, and I’m trying to figure out what they could be. Today, while I was on a run and started walking for a bit, my thighs suddenly got really itchy. I started scratching them, and really quickly, a bunch of red dots appeared wherever I was itching. They were worse earlier, but I took a cold shower, which helped, and they don’t itch anymore.
This has happened before, though. Last week, I had similar spots on my stomach, and they took almost a week to go away. I’ve also gotten them on my legs before. I have acrylic nails, and I’ve noticed this happening when I’ve had fake nails on, but I’m not sure if that’s related.
I’m also worried because we recently adopted a kitten that was exposed to ringworm. The kitten wasn’t diagnosed with ringworm, but knowing about the exposure has made me worried that my spots could be related. From what I’ve seen online, ringworm looks different, but I’m not sure.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a reaction to scratching or running, or could it be something from the kitten? Id appreciate any advice or suggestions about what this might be. Thank you!

Private Area Question Belly Button Discharge and Small Lump under skin. Seeking advice on what else this could be. Thank you! NSFW Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

In July I woke up with what felt like a small lump above my belly button. No pain unless an sig amount of pressure was applied. Went to the ER and the NP felt around and told me it was an umbilical hernia. However, it could not be detected in the ultrasound.

Well, it went away after that or at least got smaller.

Fast forward to last night, I went to lay down and felt a piercing pain. Pain scale 2 on a 1-10. And the small lump is back.

Today, about 10 hrs after noticing the return of lump, i noticed this smelly red discharge.

Had a teledoc - video call and gave the whole history. Again, no pain when straining or anything.

I was prescribed some oral and topical medication for my belly button.

Also, no discharge for the last 4 hours.

Thought? Thank you everyone in advance.

Informative Post [Informative Post] Wound care and infection prevention for minor wounds/cuts. NSFW

1. Gather Supplies:

- Purchase wound antiseptic, preferably Chlorhexidine or Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC). Avoid using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide (they are solvents and they damage tissue). Additionally, buy steri-strips (for cuts), gauze balls, and adhesive compresses (band-aid) that can cover the wound(s).

2. Cleaning:

- Apply the antiseptic to gauze balls and gently clean the wound(s). *Do not* use cotton balls as they can leave fibre in the wound. Allow the wound to air dry naturally.

3. Apply Steri-Strips:

- (for cuts) Once the wound is clean and dry, apply Steri-Strips to close the wound(s). This provides proper wound closure.

4. Apply the Compress:

- Cover the wound with a sterile compress (band-aid) that fully covers the wound(s). Make sure the compress is clean and properly applied.

5. Changing the compress:

- Repeat the wound care process once or twice daily to keep the wound clean and prevent infection. Avoid soaking the wound in water as it can soften the skin and potentially cause the wound to reopen.

6. Use of Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline):

- Once a crust has formed on the wound, apply Petroleum Jelly as needed. This provides moisture (not to be confused with “wet”), forms a protective layer, promotes healing, and may reduce scarring.

7. Alternative Approach:

- If you prefer a more budget-friendly approach, buy unscented soap, preferably one with the least amount of chemicals (The best option is antibacterial soap). Use a sterile compress (band-aid). Clean and redress the wound once or twice daily until a crust forms, and apply Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) as needed.

8. Use of antibiotic ointment:

- You shouldn’t use antibiotic ointment unless there are clear signs of infection, such as increasing pain, swelling, redness, pus, or feels hot to the touch. The use of antibiotic ointment can lead to adverse-effects such as burning, redness, irritation, and it can potentially increase the time for wound healing.

A growing number of dermatologists recommend using Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) over antibiotic ointments due to its safety profile and potential adverse-effects associated with antibiotics.

Following these wound care and infection prevention steps, and being mindful of the choice of antiseptics and ointments, can promote optimal wound healing and reduce the risk of infection.
