New here? 👆👆PLEASE READ THIS STICKY👆👆 Welcome to the sub! Posts about pot and it's related subjects should be shared with our good friends at r/trees, not so much here; we're all about *actual trees* (that's the joke) 😊🌳 'Thank you! Come Again!'

Good day everyone! I'm trying out some new automod skilz and they seem to be operating okay, at this time anyway. That said, few things are 100% the first go, but I'll keep checking the mod log to see if posts have been yeeted that shouldn't have been, and reinstate them in as timely a fashion as possible. Please use the 'Message the Mods' link in the sidebar to contact us directly, not the comment box in this post. =)

Hopefully these new settings will reduce the content not meant for this sub, but if any slip through, I know I can count on you good people to help direct them to the right place with the positive humor intended between our two subs as you always have done. We're lucky to have you!

Any (genuinely) helpful suggestions are always appreciated, and thanks for your patience and kindness with the newbs! 😃

CONFUSED ABOUT THE SUB NAME?

Please check out these past posts!

Do a sub search using the keyword 'confused' for more like these 🙂

UPDATE:

Today's 11/10/22, it's been a little over a month since the automod tweaks (10/8/22) and I'm rather pleased with the results. There's still some 'bleed through' posts from new redditor potheads, and I believe I've miraculously found a good balance between the ones that are snagged by automod and actual tree posts that I have to go back and approve. Mod reports, I'm relieved to say are much more manageable than they were.

Thank you all for your patience while I tried this out! While it does appear to me to be the case, I hope you're still as happy here as you ever were 😊🌳💗

Hey, i need someone who can identify what this yellow-orange sprinkled things in the bark are. I bought a tree disc to work on it and this goes all round the bark. My question is If its Just Natural or If this is a fungal and can damage the actually Wood in the Long Run.
I wanted to work on it and hang in on the wall so i dont know if this will rot in any way or/and attract insects or stuff like that.

Help! Need ID - Grampians, Australia

On my trip to Victoria I have noticed non-eucalypts with striking orange/terracotta tinged bark that look almost like a kind of pine tree.

Are these native Australian trees? They were growing all over the Pinnacles hiking trail and I have seen similar coloured bark on the summit of Mount Macedon (fire damaged however)

Cut this redbud down and left the bottom of the trunk to dig out later. It’s decided it’s not going out that easy. May have a bonsai candidate this winter

Help! I’ve just started growing this little Liquidambar styraciflua seedling, and I was wondering if anyone might have tips on how to care for it during these first few months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Help! Came across this bristlecone pine with sap/resin all over its needles. It was the sweetest, most citrusy smelling sap I’ve ever encountered. Is this normal?

I kept hearing this loud noises of stuff dropping from the trees. The fruits give off a pungent smell. (Midwest USA) is this a black walnut tree?

I would like to share the magnificence of my live oak trees. I have 7 of these in my yard.

They are so much bigger than they look. Some of their branches are as big around as I am. I know the first picture shows some other trees in the foreground but the live oaks are in the back. 💚

Okay, enjoy your dead tree! Anyone know what’s happening to this wild tree? North GA

Okay forgive me for the lack of important information, I know that you likely need more pictures and context to really say and I can’t provide that unfortunately as this is just a tree I was passing on my walk. Here is what I know: found immediately on the path of a popular trail, during october when it’s about 85-90 degrees, in the peidmont region of north ga. There were about 3 other trees we saw that had a similar ailment. The bark seemed to have come off and a white mold was growing on it, pretty sure it was mold because it was soft and could be rubbed off. That’s pretty much all I can tell you, I’m sorry!
