you can drive for 24 hours from Long Island to Albany and you'll STILL BE IN FUCKING LOWER MANHATTAN BECAUSE THIS CITY HAS TOO MUCH FUCKING TRAFFIC

Yeah, my coworker lives in Hamburg (northeastern part of the city and has to drive to Oldenburg each monday morning which is roughly halfway between Bremen and the border to the Netherlands. He spends one half of his commute to navigate through Hamburg and the other half to drive from Hamburg to Oldenburg. 🤔

Yeah, that and also he is an engineer that oversees several building sites in a radius of 50 km around Oldenburg. It just doesn't make sense for him to not use his company car.

Hamburg is literal traffic hell as a truck driver... but tbh Antwerpen is even worse

Haha, I was confused at first because the state of New York has a city named ā€œHamburgā€ and I thought you were making a joke about the city of New York since Hamburg, New York is about as far from NYC as you can get without leaving the state. (also, don’t visit Hamburg, NY)

šŸ˜‚ nice.

Also, to be fair, the US has about 30 places named after pretty much every european town bigger than roughly 100k people.

The southern shore of Lake Erie is especially funny for this. Hamburg is just the tip of the iceberg. I once did a long bicycle tour there and the signs are hilarious. As you ride to Hamburg, the road shows signs for turns to reach places like Dunkirk, Barcelona, and Versailles.

I mean yeah, Europe is smaller than the US, but not THAT much smaller.
