You MUST have EVIDENCE or AN EXTERNAL, DOCUMENTED WITNESS that your topic exists/existed.

  • Do NOT post to ask about something you remember seeing but no longer remember the name of. Those posts will be taken down ASAP, no exceptions. If that is the purpose of your visit, please instead visit communities such as r/tipofmytongue, r/helpmefind, r/tipofmyjoystick and other related subreddits. Something is not lost if you don't remember it, that's just a lost memory. We don't count those.
  • If you are searching for a YouTube video or something similar (i.e. Tik-Tok, Vine, etc.) understand that it is VERY UNLIKELY that it has been backed up. If you have the link to the video, try looking for it here http://findyoutubevideo.thetechrobo.ca. If it's not there, you're probably not going to find it. Not saying it's impossible, but please understand how slim the chances are.
  • When making a post, please be sure to include context for what you're looking for, why, and it's significance. People are more likely to help you look for something when you give them a reason why it matters in the first place. Also try including links to possible leads and references to information on the subject.
  • Your post must exceed 150 words. This is a rule that has constantly been challenged but we are still standing by it for the time being. Do NOT repeat text to simply fill the minimum or type garbage. That's just going to get your post deleted. Please view the guidelines at the sidebar for title formatting, resources, and deeper specification on what makes a good post.
  • NSFW and NSFL media will be looked at with close speculation. Conversations about NSFL media especially are discouraged and will often likely end in being removed.
  • We are NOT the judges on what should be considered "important enough" for a post. If you complain about too many people asking about YouTube videos or commercials, too bad. If what they are looking for is not publicly accessible and no copy has been located, it counts as lost media. This is final. We are not making judgements on what is interesting enough to count for this subreddit. We will continue to include YouTube videos and things like it. If you don't like that, please consider finding another community.

If you have many disagreements with how this place is ran, please feel free to leave.

EDIT: If you have a question do NOT comment on this post, please message the mods directly using modmail. I retired from moderation since this post. Thank you.

Films Not sure if a potentially lost screenplay counts, but the 1st draft of the J. Michael Straczynski screenplay for the 'World War Z' film [found]

Many in the World War Z fandom knows about the Straczynski screenplays. He wrote the original versions and those hewed much closer to the original novel than the film ended up.

The second draft seems easily to be able to be found only. But I was sure that I remembered that there were two different drafts floating around years ago.

Well, today I was going through my e-mail, deleting old, large e-mails, and I found that I had been right about that, and furthermore, I had e-mailed copies to myself!

I don't know if the first draft was really lost or not, but I know that I haven't seen it uploaded anywhere in years.

So, I have uploaded them the the Internet Archive, and am sending the links to both out. (The second draft is still available, but I figured I might as well do both.)

Television [FULLY LOST] Desperately Searching for Doc that Aired on TLC/Discovery Channel in Early 2000s Revealing the "Miracle" of Little Audrey Santo as a Hoax

Am working on a thesis right now and am desperately in search of this documentary that aired either on TLC or the Discovery Channel back in the early 2000s. YouTube is full of documentaries about Little Audrey Santo—a girl who drowned at 3 years old but remained alive in a permanent vegetative state while being touted by her mother as a "victim soul"—but all of these documentaries are religious in nature and none of them question the veracity of her mother's claims that Audrey performed miracles for the throngs of Catholics who'd made pilgrimages to see her and that she was capable of stigmata. I once had it saved to a DVR that has since been replaced.

I have searched the internet and YouTube/Vimeo for this documentary's existence and have come up completely empty handed.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Found [Partially lost] looking for a song, Good For by Elizabth Hull.

I am a fan of her work, both her solo work and her band At0mic Guava. A few years ago she deleted a couple of her solo songs including "Good for". I tried to contact her to ask her why she deleted them but I was only able to contact her band and theu said she mightve deleted it for personal reasons. While I can understand she may not have liked the quality of those songs, I was personally a fan of that song and enjoy her work. I was hoping someone here would have had the song saved so I could listen to it again. Any help would be appreciated.

Television Big Time Rush / Marvin Marvin Crossover Episode [partially lost]

I've been scouring the web for the show Marvin Marvin, from Nickelodeon. Cancelled within one year, and it makes me worried not a lot of it was saved.

Official streaming services say they have it but once you click on them the episodes aren't there. I've checked many... sites... and they don't even have the show.

Specifically I'm looking for the "Big Time Marvin" Episode, the series finale. Would LOVE if anyone knew where this dang episode was, or even the whole series. But I'm convinced it is lost to time. Also sorry, I'm new to posting on this sub.

Music [partially lost] Looking for “Electric Wing” feat. Hatsune Miku from OVERHIT (2019)

I'm looking for a song called “Electric Wing” feat. Hatsune Miku (full song), which was released as part of a collaboration event between the mobile game OVERHIT and Hatsune Miku back in 2019.

The original song was announced by Nexon Japan, and there used to be a YouTube video of it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a working copy of the song anywhere.

I've been looking for it because I really miss this song, and I'd love to listen to it again.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the audio, a reupload, or any information about where I could find it? Even a backup or an archive would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for reading.

Audio [fully lost] The passing of David Bowie (BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast and Daily)(11/01/2016)

It was 10 years ago when the legendary singer David Bowie passed away after his birthday. So I have been searching for these interview segments about him on 5 Live Breakfast (09:00 am) and 5 Live Daily (10:00 am) (featuring Midge Ure, Marc Almond, Tim Burgess, Martyn Ware, and more) on BBC Radio 5 Live, which was aired on February 11th, 2016, but unfortunately there are not here on the website (like YouTube or Mixcloud). Also, it has expired 2 audios on BBC Online for a long time.

Here are 2 episodes' details:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06vfc6r

Does anyone have them? Let me know.

Thanks in advance

Video Games [partially lost] SoulHunter -adventure game with sword based combat

Was going through an old forum about this older engine called dark basic pro and found this proyect called soulhunter. Here's a link to the original post with the trailer on it. I don't really know what it is about asides from what it says there, which basically is:
SoulHunter is a 3d adventure game, developed in DarkBasic Classic, in which a troubled creature has to travel through a dark forest in order to restore its lost soul.
The game is heavily inspired by the Legend of Zelda series of games, and has an artistic style reminiscent of that in the Rayman series.

In the game you control the creature known only as "SoulHunter". Wielding a magical sword and an old shield, you have to battle your way through the forest, encountering
different monsters whose souls you have to absorb in order to stay alive.

If anyone downloaded it at its time and has a copy please answer it looks so cool.

Here's the link: https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/182261

And the download link on the wayback machine which hasn't archived the work: https://web.archive.org/web/20150325050912/http://soulhunter.bytegrove.com/

Software [FULLY LOST] Does anyone here know where I can get DOH Fighter 2? It seems like lost media

DOH Fighter 2 has footage of it being played, and was described in this website https://worldsbe.st/kusoge-advent-calendar-2021/ and I can't find a download link anywhere. I tried googling, no dice. The results are flooded with pages that contain links to that one guy's stream archive of the one time he played it.

I'll be real with you. I'll be frank. It looks like a mess. It looks like an absolute mess full of hastily thrown together mugen assets. And yet there's something strangely fun-looking about it, so I want to play it. I bet me and the boys will love this game next time we have our fighting game night. But... I can't find a link to the game. I found one tournament for it, but no way to join. And I found the search results polluted with tons of youtube pages linking to that video of the guys on the website playing the game.

I just want to play the game, man. Why does life have to be so hard?

Is it archived anywhere? Does it still exist or is it fully lost?

Found [Found] Sleepwell - Firing Line All Targets Down

Sleepwell - Firing Line All Targets down.

Sound The Alarm aka Sleepwell was formed in 1999 by Cody Jancovic, Brian Chiusano, Colin Ellis, Rick Stephans in their hometown of Bangor in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Pennsylvania. At that time, the band members were only 12 years old. The four played covers of favorite bands under the name Sleepwell.
After Joe Brule joined the band, Sleepwell began writing original material and won local acclaim.

Working with Rob Freeman, then of Hidden in Plain View, Sleepwell recorded a demo and word spread quickly about the band.
In 2004, they were courted by producer Howard Benson while still students at Bangor Area High School. The band changed its name to Sound The Alarm because of a threatened lawsuit by a mattress company alleging that the name "Sleepwell" infringed on their copyright.

The group graduated early from high school in 2005, newly christened as Sound The Alarm, released an EP on Rock Ridge Musiclater that year.
They then signed with Geffen Recordsand moved to Los Angeles to record with Howard Benson, releasing their debut full-length, Stay Inside, in July 2007 to mixed reviews.

The group toured with Finch), The Starting Line, Oh, Sleeper, Tokyo Rose), Bedlight For Blue Eyes, and others.

Films [partially lost] The whole movie “Henry May Long” (2008)

I was hoping that this would be an easy find, but after several years of searching, it’s proven a lot more difficult than anticipated.

I came across the movie “Henry May Long” from its soundtrack by Max Richter. It’s a period drama, set in the late 1800s starring Christian Camargo.

As far as I know, it’s a somewhat obscure film but had a significant, non-zero budget. It was notable enough to be rentable from several streaming platforms about a decade ago, which is how I watched it originally (through iTunes movies which no longer hosts it.)

I’d been getting back into period pieces again and resumed a search for it a couple years ago. I didn’t think the movie would be virtually unfindable because, notably, the whole soundtrack is still widely available AND select tracks from the score have appeared in other media as well.

It turns out, the entire film is basically gone somehow and has become my lost media white whale. It is no longer hosted on any streaming platform, nor readily available as any kind of physical release.

My friend and I have reached out in various different ways to find the film, including emailing people involved in production/direction, actors, and people formerly associated with the now-defunct production company that produced it “Help the Bombardier.”

To my understanding, not even a trailer exists for this film.

That said, this only counts as partially lost as no more than 2-3 short clips of it exist online, as part of Brian Barnhart’s sizzle reel, on the production’s long defunct facebook page, and on a streaming platform that likely formerly hosted it. The score and several screenshots/production photos exist as well to prove that the movie was a thing.

On a personal note, I don’t even remember the movie being that particularly excellent. That said, I was 12-14 ish years younger and didn’t understand media that well. In any case, I think it’s a piece of media that deserves to be found, mind-blowing or not. And after a long, personal search, I’m turning here for any potential assistance.

Internet Media [partially lost] Monkey + PCP = Awesome Story - Skweezy Jibbs

This was my grandma's favorite video, I can recite a lot of the different parts from memory. It has the Skweezy Jibbs character with an Irish cap on, in a kitchen with brown cupboards, explaining how he took PCP and went to the zoo, started talking to a monkey and it started talking back. Surprised he asks if the monkey wants to do PCP back at his house and the monkey says yes, after he asks if it wanted a slew of different drugs. the monkey takes the PCP and goes crazy in the kitchen only then realizing that it wasn't a monkey with the punchline, "that's not an orangutan, its a retarded kid" in the most new York accent imaginable. My grandmother was from New York. I had the video downloaded off an archive about a year ago, but that phone somehow got corrupted, I haven't erased it or nothing yet but I was hoping someone more savvy in scurrying archives could help while I try and fix the phone. Ai said it's lost media and that just sounds crazy to me since I recently watched it a year ago.

Films [Fully lost] Hurt (2003)

I want to bring up a really strange case of lost media. The movie is an independent Canadian drama directed by Steve DiMarco focusing on three troubled teenagers struggling with family crises and trauma.

Despite having a verified IMDb Page and Wikipedia article, the film has no digital streaming releases or physical copies. It was briefly shown in festivals and broadcasted on television in Canada in the early 2000s, but has since entirely vanished from mainstream distribution channels, with no official trailer or digital footage. What’s even more bizarre is that there are no online discussions on this movie.

Recordings [found] Orchestre du Gramophone – Orphée aux Enfers (1908) Offenbach Ouverture, 1ère partie

This 120 years old disc was considered lost at least in the digital world 😱

Jacques Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers is one of the most celebrated works of French operetta. Its lively orchestration, theatrical character and memorable melodies made its overture a lasting favourite. This historical gramophone recording preserves the first part of the overture, performed by the Orchestre du Gramophone.

Issued on a Gramophone Monarch Record, this side bears catalogue number 040598 and matrix inscription 040598 III / 290 ac. The reverse side contains the second part of the overture, identified by catalogue number 040599 and matrix inscription 040599 P / 289 ac

This old gem 💎 was restored today by the Gramophone Gems team here :

Youtube [partially lost] Asphalt 8 - funny moments, lags, fails №2

For the last 8 months, i have been searching around the internet for a deleted YouTube video i watched when i was younger. it's basically a funny moments compilation of a racing game called Asphalt 8: Airborne, and the video has been released in 2016, and i think it has been deleted since the channel got terminated in mid 2023. Although i have actually managed to recover most of the metadata about the channel and the video thanks to pages like Filmot and MW Metadata, here is all the info i have:

Video name: Asphalt 8 - funny moments, lags, fails №2

Video link / ID: www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_FU75z0KDQ

Video description: (nothing)

Duration: 5m 9s

Upload date: 21/08/2016

Thumbnail

Storyboard (frames): Full storyboard, one third higher quality, second third higher quality, third part higher quality

Channel names (not in order): "tpsPARADOX", "Beksultankab", "Beksultan", "Bkabulov", "Driver #330033ERC™ ⒷⒺⓀⓈⓊⓁⓉⒶⓃ"

Channel ID: www.youtube.com/channel/UCEa4jAVvK151U92hF2WQcaw

Channel profile picture

There is more info here, one is that i am actually currently in contact with the guy that made this video (he confirmed it), i found him by searching up that "tpsPARADOX" name in Yandex, and one of the results is a TikTok page. after that, i finally got in contact with this guy, and asked him pretty much anything. yet unfortunately, he doesn't have them at the moment. he said that the only place where he most likely has them, is his old LG G4 phone which he created those videos on. He doesn't have them on his current phones, the google account he had those videos on was deleted, and he isn't aware of any re-uploads. he doesn't have them on any computers or external disks, the only thing he thinks he has them on is that old phone which he mentioned has a broken motherboard, that's all i know.

another thing is that, unfortunately, at this point i really doubt this video is anywhere on the internet now. i searched sites like VK, BiliBili and RuTube for reuploads, i reverse image searched the thumbnails and even recreated some scenes from memory and reverse image searched them too, but nothing has brought up anything.

and the last thing i have to say, is music. i distinctively remember some songs playing in his other videos, i don't know some of the names of some but i will try to give a rough explanation.

so in the video I'm talking about right now (the funny moments part 2), i remember there was definitely Crazy Frog Axel F, Popcorn by Crazy Frog, and Eurodancer by DJ Mangoo. i remember in other videos, i faintly remember that there was Angles by Morandi playing (although im not 100% sure on that one), i remember there was a looping, upbeat Russian song and the singer sounded kinda like an old man (i also remember that in that song there was like, popping sounds or something like that? I'm not sure if that's in the original song or that had something to do with the video), another song i remember was an also looping, Russian song, but it was more silly and happy, and the singer sounded like a young girl. i also remember that in one video there was the Scooby-Doo original intro song.

anyway, that's all i have and remember. any info you might have would be useful. Please chip in with the help, it would mean the world to me!

Video Games Cowcraft MC REVISED to appease the reddit gods[partially lost]

Hi everyone. My original Minecraft username back in the day was AUSTINZ21. I’m reaching out to the r/lostmedia community because I need the help of some magnificent internet detectives to track down, preserve, or uncover any surviving remnants of a major piece of my childhood.

Back in the 2012–2014 era, I spent years of my life playing on a massive, highly popular Java server network called CowCraft (the historical connection IP was mc.cowcraft.net) [1.1.1, 1.21]. The whole theme of the network was based around cows [lol ik right?], but it was a massive hub for game modes like Towny, McMMO, and Creative.

I’m 24 years old now. I stopped playing around late 2014 to go back to playing outside, and looking at how corporate and hyper-optimized modern Minecraft is today makes me feel like an absolute dinosaur. Because of that, I used an AI tool to help me dig up what happened to my old home, and it told me the server finally went completely dark and shut down recently [1.1.1, 1.21].

Hearing that it's completely gone hit me hard, and it feels like a giant chunk of my childhood has been wiped from the internet. I am looking for anything that survived the wipe from that specific 2012–2014 golden era:

• World Downloads / Server Map Backups: I am desperate to know if anyone ever used world-downloader mods back then, or if any legacy staff members ever leaked or backed up the Towny world map files or the Creative world map files.

• The Towny World Seed: The exact seed was always a heavily guarded staff secret back then, but I want to find out if it ever leaked after the server's decline.

• Community Members / Media: I lived in a classic "village" style town and ran a local business called Austin's Sandwich Shop before striking out 10 chunks away to start z21town. Two massive names I remember from that exact village community were CoolKJ101 (my first online friend ever) and Birdiebird24 (my childhood MC girlfriend). I'm hoping to find old forum archives, screenshots, YouTube videos, or member lists that prove this community existed.

I know I'm rambling a bit, but any helping hand, dead link archive, WayBack Machine snapshot, or hard drive backup would mean the world to me.

To the moderators: please help me keep this post up. I am absolutely not a regular Redditor, I'm just a guy on his phone trying to find a piece of a past I forgot when I was a young boyo. Thank you all so much

Found [Fully Lost] Tombstone Piledriver Wrestling Video

Looking to find or locate a wrestling video I liked. Title was just Named Tombstone Piledriver or something like that and the YouTube channel name was Sergeant Johnson I think. I want to say both video and channel got deleted from YouTube but I don’t know. Both channel and video were made somewhere of 2000s-2010s if that helps.

It was an indie/two wrestlers only just performing Tombstone Piledriver over and over again. If I would have to throw in an idea to help, there’s a small scene where one wrestler holds the other wrestler upside down, walks around and taunt/tease his opponent before finishing the move in a wrestling ring.

Television [FOUND] 2006 Noggin "Warm and Fuzzy Holiday" Move To The Music Special

Hi! Recently I've been digitizing my family's old VHS tapes and I came across one with over two hours of Noggin + Nick Jr. recordings that my parents recorded for me as a baby. This includes a "Warm And Fuzzy Holiday" Move to the Music Special (featuring Moose and Zee, but also a tie-in with Jack's Big Music Show) that I believe has been entirely lost media until now. The special includes Moose and Zee songs that have already been released, but includes bumpers and interludes made specifically for this special that I don't think have ever been uploaded anywhere else. I used to watch this all the time as a kid, so I was shocked that something so ingrained in my brain was completely lost media, and I figured there was a community of people who collect these things, so I've put it on Archive.org.

There are a few cuts, as the tape seems to be recorded on 3 different days over the course of about 2 months, but I've uploaded the raw footage from the original tape. Nothing has been edited, this is the raw digitized recording. I've written up a full breakdown of what I believe to be the entire tape on the Archive.org page.

Television [partially lost] Dango Balango - Brazilian children's puppet show, looking for missing episodes

hi, everyone!

i’m looking for episodes of Dango Balango, a somewhat obscure Brazilian puppet show for kids.

i made a few posts on r/BrasilLostMedia explaining the situation, but i’ll give a quick summary here.

(post 1 and post 2 )

basically, only the fourth season is complete, while the third season is only partially available officially. episodes for the first and second season can be found online on Youtube, but most of it is missing.

when i started looking more closely to figure out exactly which episodes were missing, i realized that information about Dango Balango is really scarce and sometimes even contradictory.

that led me to the second part of the search: i tried contacting EBC (the public media company that operates TV Brasil, who co-produced the show and where the it later aired), Giramundo (the company responsible for the show’s puppets), and Rede Minas (the public broadcaster that originally produced the show. so far, only TV Brasil has replied, and they sent me a complete episode list in order. with that, i made a spreadsheet with the episodes, synopses, and links i was able to find.

now i’m a little stuck and i’m not really sure how to continue the search. most of the episodes i found are on YouTube or on the official streaming platforms from Rede Minas and TV Brasil, and i’m not sure where else i could look.

i’d really appreciate some help from people who know more about TV media preservation, collectors, old recordings, digital archives, or media collecting. maybe someone knows other places i could search, has an old recording, or can point me toward people/communities that work with this kind of material.

any lead would help a lot, and thanks in advance to anyone willing to help :)

if this isnt the correct sub to post this kind of stuff, please let me know.

here's the link for the spreadsheet

the items marked in yellow are the ones i could not find.

as i mentioned before, some of the information is contradictory - even though TV Brasil sent me the complete episode list, some episodes have differents titles in different sources. i put the alternative titles in parentheses.

Television [Partially Lost] The News Is The News (1983 NBC Series)

(NOTE: This is not to be confused with HBO's Not Necessarily The News)

The News Is the News (sometimes called TNITN or TN2) was a live news-satire program that aired four episodes on NBC in the summer of 1983.  The show was filmed live at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York (verified by showing actual newspaper front pages from the day of the broadcast) The show had very low ratings, and many of those who did tune in were not impressed.  Executives weren't impressed either as it seems the series wasn't finding it's footing. The show was cancelled after airing only half of its planned eight episodes.

While documentation of the show exists, including a full Wikipedia page, I can't find the actual episodes. The most I have is a few promos. The longest bit I've found is Toxic Town, a prerecorded sketch by Walter Williams (creator of Mr. Bill).

EDIT: First episode found on Archive!

Films [Partially Lost] Italian Blood (1911, DW Griffith)

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has leads as to where I can find Italian Blood, an 18 minute long silent film by DW Griffith from 1911. I am doing a project on mafia stereotypes in the media and this film came up in the references of an article; I haven't been able to find it on Internet Archive or on Youtube, though there are many sources discussing it online so it must exist! I've just watched The Black Hand from 1906, which has a similar subject matter, so no worries if Italian Blood isn't available. But, if anyone has any hints as to different archives where it might exist, that would be much appreciated!
