Player(s) Needed by GM [5E 2014][Online][Evil Campaign][18+] Legion of Darkness – A Roleplay focused villainous homebrew campaign

Explore, Conquer, Fill your treasure room, Engage in diplomacy, Amass your army, Infiltrate the kingdoms of man, Build your evil lair and defend it from the forces of light.

Inspired by shows like Castlevainia and Overlord.

The Pitch

Somewhere along your life, the world decided to antagonize you. Perhaps you made a mistake that led to more mistakes, or you were misunderstood, or you were born monstrous. Regardless, it was out of your control.

Eventually you did something that ended in your death. Luckily being on the side of darkness does have upsides. An ancient vampiric dragon named Drolltar offered to resurrect you, under the condition that you repay him with your service. He chose you because you have unfinished business, you have in some way been slighted by society. Now you are returned with vampirism, cursed with an irresistible hunger for mortal vitality and granted the ability to reason with monsters and dark beings.

You, along with a group of others who accepted his deal, have been summoned to Drolltar’s tomb. Once you gather there, he will order you to work together to search the land for something to bolster his tomb’s defences, as he lies dormant in his tomb, vulnerable to the zealous forces of light. You too are in danger, Elios the god of light has labeled you as enemies for serving Drolltar and now the forces of light will not take kindly to you.

Details

Aside from the quests that Drolltar gives you, it is an open world for you to do as you like. There are many places to explore and not all of them will be at odds with you.

Though this is an “evil” campaign, that is mostly because your characters are antagonized by society. You are labeled as evil by the god of light, but that is only because you stand in opposition to him. The side of light is not a true authority on morality by any means and in fact in this campaign they are quite often in the wrong. Seeing morality in such a black and white perspective is often a cause of immorality itself, and that is what this campaign is about.

I would like to find 5-6 players who are mature, love the collaborative storytelling element of d&d, and like a little bit of edginess. I expect you to enjoy role-playing your character, have a cooperative relationship with the other players, and allow everyone a moment to let their character shine, showing what makes them interesting.

My goal is to keep an interesting and consistent storyline, which can adapt to your characters’ backstories, themes, and decisions.

The setting is a homebrew dark fantasy world in a medieval period with arcane technology. The game will be a mix of role-playing, exploration, and combat. Some sessions will be role-playing only with no combat.

I am open to using homebrew for your character, especially your species so long as I approve of it, as a more monstrous species can make sense here. Characters start at level 3, leveling up by milestone and will level up slower at higher levels. I am hoping for a long-term campaign where you can defend a massive dungeon that you built up together throughout the campaign.

Rules

There are some ground rules required to keep the campaign healthy.

This campaign welcomes players of all genders, identities, and backgrounds. Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated.

The session day and time will be determined based on the availability of the selected group.

Heavy roleplay is a core part of this game. Players should be comfortable with character development, emotional storytelling, interpersonal relationships, and collaborative scene work.

No torture or sexual violence. We will also go over what other things players are uncomfortable with in session zero. However, as you can imagine, this campaign is meant to have a dark tone so I don’t recommend it to people who are sensitive to dark themes.

You have to work together, there is no doubt going to be conflict between characters, but you also have to get things done and you can’t do that if you’re constantly backstabbing each other and fighting.

You’re not a sadistic monster. You shouldn’t kill everything or destroy everything you come across.

Even though you’re on the side of darkness, you still have feelings. Your character can and should have some human qualities to them. Consider if your character might struggle to accept the things they are forced to do.

Nonetheless, when in Rome – you can get away with doing some pretty twisted stuff at times, since you aren't bound by some of the moral obligations that most other campaigns require.

Joining the Game

We'll use Discord for voice and Roll 20 for maps and rolling.

I will go over some of the world lore during the interview process. And, if you get accepted and once you know what you want for your character, I will find a way to incorporate whatever you need for your character's story to the setting.

I’ve ran a few long term games before, but it’s been a while since my last one. I’m hoping this one will be just as good as the ones before.

If you're interested, please fill out this application form below.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeHSCq63KfYUy86Ll9lZmq1J9kaazkRddaJnlR5kIaykCxF5g/viewform?usp=header

I'll review your submissions and reach out to potential players on discord if I’m interested. It may take a couple days for me to reach out to you though.

The Rotting Colossus

…The adventure is reaching its end…

Once, in the world of Virdeia, the world was full of magic and wonder. Good and evil battled it out in endless, glorious combat, magic surrounded the world in its entirety, and beautiful creatures of all kinds swarmed the whole world.

While none of those things are quite gone yet, something else has begun to displace them. A newer, darker world, dominated by iron and smoke. Once bountiful creatures are slowly being hunted to the end of their lineage, magic is increasingly tossed aside in favor of machinery, and the lines between good and evil are growing more and more hazy with each passing day. The world of Virdeia, once vast and overflowing with mystery, grows ever smaller with each passing day, which may grant an opportunity to dangerous forces waiting for a chance to climb out of the shadows.

Soon, even the Gods themselves may find themselves at risk, as forces gather in the shadows to unleash powers that even the Gods themselves shall tremble before.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are all misfits and criminals from across the realms hired by the kingdom of Noctia as a sort of secret service, aiding the empire's interests across the continent and beyond. For your first mission, you will be heading to Coregium, a Roman/Greek inspired city where you'll investigate reports of vampires menacing the city's population.

I've put the most important information in the title but let me know if you have any other questions, and please make absolutely sure that you have nothing else going on during Thursday Nights before joining. (Time zone is MDT) (Players start out at level 3) (Server is 18+)

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Possibly Offline] [Seattle] [5e 2024] [PST] [21+] [Weekdays TBD 6:00PM-10:00PM PST] [LGBTQIA+ Friendly] [Newbie seeking Newbies]

Hey! I'm Tommy (he/him), I'm 26 years old looking for fellow new players and friends to play Daggerheart together with! My DM inspirations are Griffin McElroy and Brennan Lee Mulligan. I really love how they're able to take silly and dumb concepts/tropes and elevate them with sincerity. I essentially would love a group to recreate the feeling of the first TAZ campaign lmaoo.

I truly love sketch comedy and improv (my biggest influences are Nirvanna the band the show and I think you should leave to name a couple) and would love to DM a high fantasy setting I build together with my players that can lean into jokes in a way that makes sense and are never disrespectful! I wouldn't want comedy to be the only vehicle and will definitely want moments to take the game seriously but the scenarios the party gets into will probably be goofy (I still think fantasy costco is funny lol).

I've DM'd a few times and know I love it very much! I'm still new and tend to adhere to the rule of cool since I value creativity more than the nitty gritty so some patience may be needed on that front. I would also love new players as this is honestly an excuse for me to make new friends in my age range and play something together :) Message me here or on discord (tommyboytwt) if you're interested!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other] Trick or Treat, a Honey Heist hack one-shot | Sun Oct 18, 10am CDT (15:00 UTC) | LGBT+ Friendly

It's Halloween and you're finally old enough to go trick-or-treating without a grownup. Up on the hill, in the big house behind the wall, old Miss Pellham supposedly still has a tin of a candy bar that was never sold in any store. Tonight your crew is going to get it.

Trick or Treat is a hack of Honey Heist by Armanda Haller. The whole game fits on one card. You have two stats, Trick and Treat, and you roll a d6 under one of them. When your plans work you get a bit more feral. When they fall apart you get a bit more sugar-crashed. Max out Trick and you ditch your friends on your bike. Max out Treat and you eat yourself sick and somebody's mom drives you home.

Expect campfire-story spooky with no gore, plus lots of kid logic, grownups who don't get it, and a curfew that might as well be the end of the world.

Details

  • When: Sunday, October 18, 10:00am CDT / 15:00 UTC (8am Pacific, 11am Eastern, 4pm UK)
  • Length: 3 to 4 hours, with a break
  • Players: 3 to 6
  • Where: Owlbear Rodeo in your browser, Discord for voice.
  • Cost: free
  • Experience: none needed. We roll characters together at the start (three d6 and you're done) and I'll teach the rules in five minutes.

Good fit if you like making a plan and watching it go wrong, can play a kid with total seriousness, and don't mind the dice deciding a lot. Very beginner friendly.

To join, comment or DM me with:

  1. Your timezone
  2. How much you've played (zero is fine)
  3. The best and worst thing you ever got trick-or-treating

Player(s) Needed by GM [ONLINE] [OTHER] Looking for 2 Players (21+) | 1970s Psychological Horror & Supernatural Mystery TTRPG

Hey everyone! I'm posting this on behalf of my GM for his new game.

I'm currently looking for 2 additional players, ages 21 and older, for a mystery/horror TTRPG set in the late 1970s. The game will focus heavily on character development, investigation, interpersonal relationships, and slow-burn psychological horror with supernatural elements.

THE PREMISE

It's the late 1970s.

An unusual advertisement has begun appearing in newspapers across the world.

An anonymous individual is offering a rather generous sum of money to young adults willing to participate in a two-week parapsychological study in a remote town in Washington State.

Travel arrangements, accommodations, meals, and recording equipment will all be provided. Participants have only one responsibility: document their experiences and report anything unusual.

It sounds like easy money.

Two weeks away from home. A little adventure. Maybe even a good story to tell afterward.

WHAT TO EXPECT

It is a FULL campaign even if the start sounds simple enough. You can expect mystery and investigation, psychological and supernatural horror, character driven storytelling, 1970's setting, and player agency! Your choices, your actions will dictate what happens next in the story.

THE SYSTEM

It is a very simple homebrewed system that will be explained to you once you're in the group. It uses D6's and it's super seamless and simple. Whether you're a veteran in TTRPG or not, you'll be able to grasp it in no time.

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

I'm hoping to find two creative, collaborative players who enjoy immersive roleplaying and developing complex characters. Players must be 21 years of age or older. Characters will generally fall within the 18–24 age range, as they're young adults responding to the advertisement.

You don't need to be an expert at TTRPGs. I'm far more interested in players who enjoy storytelling, character interactions, and contributing to an engaging group dynamic.

INTERESTED?

Please fill out the form HERE.

No experience necessary! If you've been wanting to try out D&D or wished there was a game closer to you without using Zoom, here's a golden opportunity!

NOTE: I am not in any way affiliated with the venue, except willing to DM a campaign weekly.

There is space for 8 at their gaming table. Interested? Let me know, OR, they have an event posted on their Facebook page. Hit "interested" or "going" so we have a head count.

We'll establish the campaign and roll characters at session 0, then hit the ground running! Hope to see you there.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014] or [5e 2024] [EST] Day/Time TBD - 50/50 Combat/RP

Hello! I got my start DMing during the pandemic for my family. Now my brother wants to play again, but is looking for a game with either a little more combat or political intrigue involved than the existing games I'm running.

So I'm looking to put together a new group! I'm starting with finding a few players with shared availability and deciding what kind of game we are going to play. The google form below has two brief sections: one for contact info & availability, and one for voting on an adventure to play. Once we have a jumping-off point, I'll provide more campaign/setting info and another short questionnaire to get to know potential players better.

What we know of the basics:

  • Online game, Discord voice (no webcam), DNDBeyond and Roll20

  • 5e or 5.5e, TBD by vote

(if we finish an adventure and want to try another system after, that's cool too!)

  • I'm looking to have a total of 3 to 5 players, as I'm not a fan of large parties.

  • LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent friendly!

  • Looking for players 21+

(bro and I are in our early 30s and looking to play with other adults)

New and experienced players welcome!
If you're interested, please respond here:

Hoping to have a group together in the next two weeks and start playing in November!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [PBP] [US Based GM] [Other] The Great Pendragon Campaign (Pendragon 6e)

The game
Live in the life and times of King Arthur Pendragon! Go on knightly adventures, fight to defend your lands against the Saxons, and pursue knightly ideals in the hope of leaving a great legacy for your heirs.

Everyone starts playing a knight serving Earl Roderick of Salisbury in the years leading up to Arthur's birth and eventual rise to the throne of Britain. The game moves one year at a time, so your knight will get older, marry, have children, and eventually die. When that happens, you play your knight's heir.

Things to know about Pendragon

  • The campaign follows Arthurian legend. Big events like major battles and the deaths of kings happen as written, and the players can't change them. Your choices matter most in your own knight's life: family, land, honor, romance, and side adventures.
  • There are no character classes.
  • Knights in Pendragon may be of any gender. Female knights use the honorific "Dame," the equivalent of "Sir."
  • Knights have personality traits and passions. Sometimes a roll on these decides what your knight does.
  • Combat is deadly and healing is slow. Expect knights to die.
  • There are no levels. Knights get better at the skills they use and train once a year, and fame from great deeds earns extra rewards.
  • Magic is rare, and knights can't use it.

Details about the game

  • Play by post on Discord, one thread per scene
  • At least 3 posts a week, and a reply within 48 hours when it's your turn
  • Play with the group, in a small group, or solo
  • Up to 3 active characters per player
  • Roll your own dice or use the dice bot
  • No Pendragon experience needed

Content
21+. The game includes mature themes. We set lines and veils as players enter the table.

About me
I'm 27 and have been GMing games since I was a kid. I mostly run real time games, but I've run PBP games on some of the older forums when I was younger. Discord is a little newer for PBP for me but we can muddle through together :)

To apply
DM me with a little about yourself and your experience with tabletop RPGs, a short knight idea, and how often you can post.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E 2024][Saturday] [5pm-10pm EST][Weekly][long running homebrew campaign]

Hey, everyone. Nice to meet you all, so one of my players had to step away, so I'm looking for a replacement for our ongoing 5e campaign. All i need is one player, so whoever is the best applicant gets the slot! Please read everything posted as the details attached are important.

About the table: We're 5 people: me as DM (male), 3 women (one trans so please be respectful of that), and 1 other guy.

We play on Saturday every Saturday (if possible) on Discord (for our voice chat) and on Roll20 (for our VTT).

The vibe is very much so really relaxed. We are definitely a group of friends who all get along really well, so we are looking for others who can fit that vibe. I do wanna also be a bit upfront. we do have a few in-group jokes that might be a bit jarring perhaps, but I will explain them and make them clear so you're not just blindsided by anything. I should also make clear that this is a darker game with more adult themes, so there may be allusions to darker themes and scenes, so please do keep that in mind.

Who we're looking for: Since most of the table is women, they have asked that the new player be a woman too, so everyone's comfortable. I feel like its only fair that I say up front that they have ran into a lot of creeps and weirdos so they are worried about that happening again so i wanted to be up front and honest so nobody's time gets wasted.

What I'm looking for: First, i want to get out of the way that new or experienced players are welcome. Other than that, honestly, all I ask for is respect, communication, and commitment. This is a long-term game aiming for level 20 and possibly beyond, so I'm looking for someone who can commit for the long haul. We've lost a few players to ghosting and busy schedules, so please only apply if you can realistically show up most Saturdays.

A bit of story/lore: Velastra is a world where the greatest evil ever known was sealed beneath the earth by three legendary champions — or so the Church says. For centuries, the Solarion Church has stood as humanity's protector, its miracles keeping the darkness at bay.

But the black roses are growing again. The rivers whisper in dead languages. And the prison beneath Dawnhold isn't as quiet as it used to be.

Something is coming. The Church is afraid. And the truth, buried under centuries of gold and ceremony, is darker than anyone is prepared for.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, then please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a DM! I look forward to hearing from you.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][Daggerheart][Saturdays @ 2:00PM EDT] Achromatic Smiles!

Hello! Posting this at a new time to see if I can get players :)

In the world of Ypsilune, there exists the Sacred Temple. Every century, the Sacred Temple sends out six martyrs who are taught at their Holy Academy. These martyrs are blessed with the powers of the crests, and they are sent into the world to influence it towards the divine will. They have the influence to shape politics, help the meek, and stop wars. Now, you will graduate in one week as the next batch of martyrs.

Hello everyone! Welcome to my newest campaign of daggerheart! As with all my campaigns, no experience is required to join.

About Me

I am Written! I'm a 21 year old film major who goes by he/they. I read a lot of manwha. I also binge a lot of romantasy, and I work on webnovels in my free time. I love character-focused campaigns, and I like to make jokes about the campaign OOC. I love tikka masala, earl gray tea, and Halloween! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me! :D

About The Game

- We will use Avrae on discord for dice rolls. The first die roll will always be Hope, the second will always be Fear.

- We will create characters on demiplane. I will content share the books with you.

- We will start at level 1 since you're actually somewhat fierce in daggerheart at level 1.

- This will be a roleplay heavy campaign that primarily uses theater of the mind.

- I am structuring the lore document to be like a class list. That means you only will be reading up on the electives that your character chose!

Lastly, this an inclusive table! No bigotry of any type will be tolerated, so if you can't handle people being their cool selves then don't apply!

If you are interested, DM on reddit with a bit of info about yourself!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] Saturday, 6pm-10pm MST Looking for 6 players for a superhero campaign in the new year [POC + LGBT friendly]

(NOTE: I don't use daylight savings, so I go by 6pm MST, which is 8pm EST, when daylight savings hits it'll be 7pm EST when session starts in November as my time won't change).

(Introduction)
Hey, Call me Fabio, or Nerdy (My name is not actually Fabio), I am doing something new and just diving in head first to force myself to get this started instead of pushing it off like other campaign ideas I've had, I don't know how long this campaign will go for, or how dramatic it'll be, I am kinda just winging it. I would like to run a campaign based in a homebrew superhero world, using the Marvel Multiverse RPG ruleset but not set in Marvel or DC, we will be using Discord for sessions, Kenku Bot for music, and Roll20 for the VTT. The idea is an alternate world that suddenly changed close to a century ago, the world developed superpowers, some are Metahumans who were born with it, some are mutants who's genes spliced, some are biotech enhancements, some from supernatural forces, aliens, science experiments gone wrong, you name it. This created a world of heroes, villains, and a society fighting to keep order in chaos.

I take inspiration from DC and Marvel comics, Invincible, The Boys, Misfits, Boku No Hero, and if it helps, I imagine the city that will be played in would be close to New York/Gotham/Metropolis-esque city. (for the Nerd Cred, yes I know Gotham is actually Jersey equivalent and Metropolis is Cleveland Ohio). This campaign will be a sorta bit of everything, dark, twisted, funny, chaotic, strange, heroic, etc.

(About Me, the DM)
Now a little about me, I am Nerdy/Fabio, I am 30 year old cis man, I am Bi, and Native Canadian and diagnosed with ADHD and depression (yay). I have been a nerd, gamer, and fan of all things pop culture and sweet nerdy goodness my whole life. (Fun fact: Many suspect my white dad was the nerd, but my native mom was the one getting me into star wars/star trek/xena warrior princess, etc.)
I am also a socialist, very far left, so if you're anywhere center to far right on the political spectrum, we just aren't going to vibe, so need not apply. I enjoy dark/edgy humor that punches up never down, I enjoy silly things with good people, I would prefer my group to have similar ideologies, but I am fine with some liberals. (For quick political recap, I believe in Universal Healthcare, Universal Income, Abolishment of Police, Prison/Education/Medical Reform, I believe all sects of industry need to be heavily regulated, I believe everything needed to live should be public and handled by the government, I don't believe in private ownership, I am very anti bigotry, and I am anti-ai on a industry level (I don't care if you use Chatgpt to organize your thoughts or help with tasks, I do look down upon ai art)).

I've been in the D&D community for about 15 years but I've been playing actively for 6, DMing for 3. I love the storytelling aspects of D&D but I also really enjoy the community and friendships i've built along the way, whether due to a combination of ADHD and depression I hardly do anything outside of prep for d&d and think about d&d, and I would like to broaden my horizons, I've had ideas for a VTM game, Cyberpunk, Call of Cthulhu, even a GUNDAM game, and when I thought of the idea of a superhero campaign last night I didn't wanna drop the ball on this so I am just rushing and getting started instead of letting my ADHD make me put it on the backburner (yay self-growth). If i'm not watching political youtube videos, video essays on popculture, or world building, I'm on pinterest or artstation saving art for future characters/scenes/items, (Currently I have 85 pinterest tabs open, and 209 artstation tabs of different artists that I wanna go through), IIRC I have 35,000 photos saved to my hard drive for future characters in various campaigns I wanna make - I realized long ago I am a digital hoarder.

My DMing style is very much loosy-goosy, I prefer fun, and try not to be a stickler to the rules, but I want things to make sense for the "story", I often like making my players OP or doing crazy things (My current campaign has my party of 6 have about.... 35 NPCs traveling with them, including a pet dragon wyrmling). I can't tell you that I am a great DM, but I can say that many of my players refer to my campaign/DMing style as their favorite.

Some reviews I got from past players:

Wow he's so amazing

Nerdy's DMing style has changed my life for the better

I've never seen a better DM

Fabio is a genius and the greatest creative of our generation

Ferris Buller you're my hero

(I did not make these up/s)

Now that out of the way:

(The Premise)

The idea I have is each of the party members are people who developed their powers and started being active in using them for at least a year in Meridian City, a metropolis in America, whether you are attempting to be a superhero, super criminal, a merc look for money, or someone trying to figure out what changed them, you all discover the murder of Allison Greer, whether she was your friend, a clue, a witness, she was someone important to you, you investigate what happened, and are led on a path that leads you to each other, and opens something dark.
You all must work together to solve this case and figure out what happened to Allison. This will bleed into a "Monster of the week" type campaign where you all deal with oncoming threats and investigations, anything from hostage situations, corrupt cops, corrupt heroes, alien invasion, cults, evil demons, etc. Characters will start at Rank 1 (street level heroes) and work their way up.

(What I Want/Expect)

I am seeking six players, who are left-leaning, interested in roleplay, exploring a dark, twisted, but fun and quirky kind of world, who are invested in creating rich characters and exploring their themes and ideas, an ideal player would be someone who frequently interacts with the discord, chats, shares memes/videos/whatever, answers the question of the day/week, and enjoys brainstorming consistently and being a friend to the group.

I am also hoping for more new players to TTRPG's, people who have never played but are very interested, just because we (including myself) will be new to this game system and I prefer everyone being on the same level, I also find my experiences better with new players as i'm a very loose DM.

For your characters, I am honestly cool with anything, and will find ways to make your character idea work, so be creative as you want, just make sure your character has a reason to be a teamplayer, (they dont necessarily need to "want" to be one, just need to)and just understand your character will essentially be "level 1", if you wanna imagine a superpower superman-esque superhero - thats cool, and can be how they end up, so maybe imagine superboy from young justice first, then later gets to superman

Things I expect players to make for their character:

  • Backstory (at least a page) that explains Origins, beliefs, foundations, goals
  • Memories (writing 6-8 memories that explain or cement beliefs) to further connect with your character
  • Making 5 sets of a truth and a lie, rumors your fellow party members learn of your character as ice breakers
  • The ability/desire to discuss and think of your characters actions/thoughts outside of the game
  • ability to make it to the game on a weekly basis
  • Have a good microphone (bad/static audio makes me zone out)

(The Interview Process)

I usually get a couple dozen applicants from my posts here, so this is the process I formed:

  • You apply via google forms found here: https://forms.gle/arHXJip9RaM4UmeT8
  • I will review and select applicants for interviews next Friday
  • we set an interview (it will take an hour) I will ask questions, give you roleplay prompts, and allow you to ask any questions you may have.
  • Players selected join discord and once all 6 are found, we make characters individually and schedule a session zero (I'm hoping to start in December)

(Disclaimer)

My only experience is D&D, but I am interested but scared of trying new games, how much of a fish out of water would I be with Marvel RPG?

Never fear citizen, Marvel Multiverse RPG (from what I read of the rule book) is pretty straight forward and simplified, most of the rules like movement, actions, etc are similar to d&d.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014][Fri Biweekly 7PM CST] A No Magic Holy War | 2 more Players Needed

• Upvotes

**Your island is dying, and your gods are silent.**

You are a devout island people, blessed by your gods' blood and guided by one faith, Your whole life you've known strangers lurk beyond your waters, people not born by the divine, But you never doubted you were safe.

Then they landed.

The "no bloods" which your people see as the equivalent too demons, are massacring villages and taking land. Weeks ago it felt distant. Now they're closing in on the kingdom. You'll fight for a nation that believes with all its heart that it is righteous. Whether it is right or not, you'll have to decide for yourself, but one thing is for sure, your people didn’t ask to be invaded.

**The Game**
- **Style:** Narrative-driven, heavy roleplay, mostly sandbox.
- **Setting:** Homebrew medieval fantasy with **no traditional magic**. All races are homebrew; classes and items are reflavored to fit the tech level (I'll try to help you with this) instead of magic.
- **Levels:** 3 → 8
- **Tone:** Grounded and realistic. Expect the horrors of war and religious conflict.

**Logistics**
- **When:** Every other Friday, 7:00 PM Central / 8:00 PM Eastern. 3-4 hours
- **Seats:** 2 left open.
- **Platform:** Discord + Foundry VTT (free for you)
- **Age:** 18+

**About Me**
I've run this homebrew world for years, and players like you have made it what it is. I'm starting this game to get some fresh perspectives, so i'd love some players who will give honest feedback and help make the table better.

**Looking For**
- Experienced 5e players who know the core mechanics
- A decent mic and low background noise
- be able to make most sessions

Player(s) Needed by GM Online [5e 2024] Free Dark Sun Introductory Adventure Saturdays 8 pm est.

Wizards of the Coast is scheduled to bring back Dark Sun in early 2027 as an adult-oriented (18+ rated) modern D&D release.

The upcoming revival features mature content warnings for violence, slavery, and nudity, alongside rule expansions like Blood and Power and Edge of Oblivion.

First launched by TSR in 1991 for AD&D 2nd Edition, the setting subverts traditional high-fantasy tropes with a harsh, Mad Max-meets-Conan vibe where resources are scarce, magic destroys the environment, and tyrannical villains rule.

Core Features of Athas
• Extreme Scarcity: Water, fertile land, and metal are exceptionally rare. Weapons and tools are forged from stone, bone, wood, glass, or chitin rather than iron.
• Defiling Magic: Casting arcane spells requires draining the life force from surrounding plants and soil. This ecological devastation turned Athas into a wasteland, making wizards hated "defilers".
• No Traditional Gods: Traditional divine pantheons are absent. Clerics and druids draw their powers directly from the elements or the physical world.
• Pervasive Psionics: Psychic power of the mind is common and integrated into everyday life, races, and creatures across the planet.
• The Sorcerer-Kings: Brutal, immortal magic-users and tyrants govern isolated city-states amid widespread institutionalized slavery and gladiator pits.
• Unique Races: Familiar fantasy races are modified or replaced by survivalist variants, such as feral elves, cannibalistic halflings, insectoid Thri-kreen, and breeding-program Muls (half-dwarf, half-human hybrids).

Player(s) Needed by GM M.I.R.O. and Fogs of Fannenheim [ONLINE] [5e 2014] [EST]

Hello! I currently run two campaigns, on Thursday, and one on Friday.
The Thursday campaign is a magic item bounty hunter theme,
where-as the Friday is a horror theme.

Each campaign starts at 6pm EST on each day, and runs until 10pm EST.

If you have any questions about either campaign, or want a character prompt, feel free to add me on Discord to discuss. Discord is how we all play.

Discord: aqua_o.o

M.I.R.O, the Magic Item Bounty Hunter campaign with a little bit of everything, is currently level 5.

Fogs of Fannenheim is level 6.

M.I.R.O. is a gritty campaign where the player plays as an agent of M.I.R.O., the Magic Item Retrieval Organization, where you are tasked with maintaining, protecting, and securing all things magic-item related.

Fogs of Fannenheim, is a horror-themed campaign, where the players are currently shot out through a time rift, into the same land they are native to (Ebenheim), but 20 years ahead. You may play as someone native to that realm, or someone similarly shot out through a rift.

Group Needed by Player [Online][5e 2014] Experienced Player Trying to Break a Curse on Tuesdays

Hello! I'm looking for a weekly online game. The only hang up is I can only do Tuesdays due to my work schedule. I understand that's pretty steep, so here's some reasons why you should consider me for your next batch of players:

I've carried the forever DM curse with me ever since I started TTRPGs in 7th grade. I'm 26 now. I absolutely adore running D&D games, but I simply don't have the time to do it right in this stage of my life. What this means, though, is you'll have a player who is intimately aware of the struggles of running a game. I know how not to behave, how to engage with threads and hints, how to interact with my fellow players, and how to adapt to the group as a whole. I know these things because I've seen them done well and unfortunately wished some of my own players did a better job at them.

I can do silly voices, and that's always fun.

I am adaptable to different playstyles. RP heavy? Love it, let me adjust my backstory to fit your plotlines. Lots of combat? Excellent, here's a build that can interact with the environment and cause fun mechanical moments. Exploration? I've always wanted to play a botanist. I'll gladly catalogue every homebrew mushroom you can throw at me.

My first goal is community. D&D can form amazing bonds between players through their characters, and I'd love to form a tight knit group that doesn't just leave the discord server after the campaign wraps. Who knows, maybe I'll DM the next campaign we run?

I like to think I have a good sense of kindness and maturity.

Please respond below or DM me (haha) below! I'd love to hear what you're cooking.

Oh also if you prefer 2025, I can do that too. I just know 2014 better.

Player(s) Needed by GM Heart Between Worlds (Online) (5E 2014) (Flexible timings, EST)

Exeros is dying. Its core is cracking and we have only a few years before reality unravels. We have found another world in a different dimension, also called Exeros, where castles stand beside motor vehicles and some villages still live in the past while others hold advanced knowledge and tech. Their core is healthy. Ours is not. You are part of the desperate strike team being sent through an unstable gate to steal it and bring it home. Expect infiltration, high stakes extraction, reality glitching distortions, and hard moral choices with no clean answers.

Hi! My names Bushy and im DM running my first campaign. I am 18 so i would like a group (3 - 5) around the same age to have fun with. The game will be ran on Roll20 And Discord For voice and other related things. Different times can be arranged but as of right now I'm looking at Sundays at 9PM EST.

Comment below or dm me on discord: bushyqz

Feel free to ask any questions!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][PF1E][Free] Looking for about 2 more players to start a campaign.

I have run a few campaigns in the past, but this will be my first time running one in foundry. Currently the dm and 1 player from the campaign I play in have decided to join. Need 2 more players to start. Will be running Tyrant's Grasp. Will be communicating purely via text, no voice chat. DM if interested. Tell me how much experience you have with pf1e, any ideas you already have for character concepts if any, and a bit about yourself.

Group Needed by Player [Offline] [Toronto / West-end] [OSR] [Flexible] Salty sea dog looking to get back at the table!

Heyya Folks!

It's been far too long since I've gotten to play some good old fashioned RPGs in the flesh with some like-minded buddies. Being a mid-30s WFH dude, my social opportunities for this aren't exactly abundant so here I am, posting for your consideration.

Game wise, I'm pretty easy going EXCEPT not particularly into 5e or WOD. Some of the systems I've enjoyed either playing or running in the past are:

Shadow of the Demon Lord

OSE / Dolmenwood / BX

Call of Cthulhu

Dungeon Crawl Classics

Also interested in trying Mythras, Shadowdark, Dragonbane, and Hyperboria!

I'm interested in a variety of systems, games and themes and primarily prefer fantasy / horror themes with light to medium crunch. Laughter at the table is definitely a good thing but I do try to match the mood of the table, whatever is agreed upon. LGBTQ friendly and all that great stuff.

Unfortunately I cannot host (tiny apartment my cat controls with an iron fist) nor GM at least to start. Unless I absolutely have to. But it likely would be a bit of a mess 😅 it's been awhile.

As far as frequency, I would imagine bi-weekly might be the most feasible, minimum once per month. It really depends on where the game is hosted and how long we play.

I'm in the west end ( Dundas and Bloor ish) so if you're in the area I'd definitely love to hear from you.

Hoping for a like minded group of nerd pals that are 30 or older to get into some fun hijinks at the table with.

Thanks for checking out my post and happy gaming!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][Fridays. 6 pm EST][Weekly] Limbus Company: Alt

There’s something you want. A goal you claw towards with dogged dedication, a distant dream that you can never fully grasp, a wish you’d like to see granted above all else. For this reason, when a mysterious woman approached you with the offer of a contract that could make those impossible dreams and desires you cling to come true you signed it. A final or first chance to achieve that dream, fulfill that desire, to satisfy that need. So long as you work for the company in turn.

Hi there! I go by Honor, and I've come to love Project Moon as a setting. So I'd like to run a game in that setting. There is no knowledge requirement, no barrier to entry for this campaign that you wouldn't expect in other TTRPGs. If you love literature, urban fantasy, bleak hyper-capitalist settings, a power system based on the emotional regulation of its users, or any combination of the above you'll probably be into this game and setting.

We'll be using the Stars of the City system with some added homebrew to patch up any weaknesses certain statuses might have, add some new ones to spice things up, and give me some extra toys to play with.

Perhaps it is a bit basic to retread the steps of Limbus Company, but it is my first game in this system and its plot structure supports the type of game I would like to run. You will be taking the role of the Sinners, this time with a mysterious and enigmatic manager guiding your actions moving from story to story dictated by the backstories of each of the PCs. As such this game will be very involved when it comes to backstory which will be concepted and then further ironed out in session zero and the weeks leading up to the first story arc. Beginning with a short prologue to get everyone acquainted with the system and for people to cement the way they roleplay their characters.

Player characters must have a literary reference at the core of their character, dictating the themes of their story. Obviously a LOT of liberties can be taken, given we're talking about Limbus Company.

Starting level: 1

Player count: 5-6 total, with 3 already filled.

Requiremnts:

18+

Decent mic

Browser than can run Foundry (you do not need an account)

LGBT+ friendly

If you'd like to apply please fill out the form below:

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online] [5e 2014/2024] [Flexible] [21+] [Queer Friendly] [Weekday Evenings EST] 4 players looking for a GM!

Hi there! We are 4 players looking to play something! 2 of us are pretty experienced, one has some but is still new, and one has never played a ttrpg before! We're not specifically looking for DnD we're really happy with whatever, especially if you'd like to work with us to figure out a game to play! We just have the most experience with Dnd. Were just eager to play something (anything even). We are open to home-brew but thats totally up to GM's discretion! Like I said we're happy with anything!
Like mentioned in the title, we are very queer friendly as all of us are queer with the exception of our token straight white guy who we keep as emotional support. Please DM me if interested! Thank you so much!

Group Needed by Player (5e) (Preferring 2024) (Online) (Sun,Wed,Thur) Avid Roleplayer Seeking Game & Group

Hello there!

My name is Jo. I'm 26 years old, I've a humble 8+ years of experience or so playing DnD (almost all online) and I'm quite an enthusiastic role-player, always trying to make memorable emotive characters who have clear dynamics with fellow party members. In terms of the game I can say I know the rules pretty well and I honour them!

Before I tell you more about myself I want to let you know what I'm looking for. I tend to mesh better with those who really get into into roleplay but not at the detriment of combat, I don't really thinking ratioing them works in truth plainly put. I am not a fan of AI and would like to avoid playing in games that feature it in its many forms. Overall I would like a much longer-term game so we as a group can really sink our teeth into the game and characters. So yes, thats some of what I'm looking! Back to more details about myself for you to get to know me!

I'm invested in interacting with the DM and getting them as involved in my character creation and idea/plot as possible. You can bet that I'll bring at least a shell for a character for the two of us to fill and work out and fit into your settings.

I do put a lot of effort into doing character voices and making interesting personalities for my characters. I've played a wide range of characters, ranging from the snobby noble caster to the hard on his luck humble monk to a performative wizard persona. I've played just about every class in the time I've enjoyed the hobby. I adore describing spells and re-flavouring abilities to better fit a character's image or themes.

I truly love Dungeon's and Dragons.

As a side note I've used both foundry and roll20 for many years now, so I'm quite proficient with them and I've used a few other VTTs over the years other than these two.

I'm happy to join an ongoing group if we plan to play as I see it as unique opportunity with both dynamics and possible character introduction.

About my scheduling:

My workplace actually isn't open on Sunday so I know for a fact that my attendance won't be jeopardised by work. The other listed days I typically have fully off! With timezones in mind, the actual timing of the game doesn't need to fit me in any overt way as I'm fairly flexible with Sunday as my day off. The other days are much the same. I might have possible openings for games outside of these days but that's something to discuss with the DM beforehand.

My preference for session length is 4 hours, if not a bit over that actually. So yes, while I am in America I could very easily and comfortably play with western Europeans.

I'm happy to join a brand-new group or ongoing. I hope to help keep a group going long enough for us to get the entire return of our joint efforts.

I look forward to hearing back from you, and I wish you a lovely rest of your day. I'm open to chat here on reddit or friend request to chat more on discord, if you want to know anything further or to meet over call. I'll be active on here for the rest of the night so please feel free to contact me!
