Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E 2024][LGBTQ+ Welcome][Saturday's 6pm-10pm][EST][21+ ONLY][NSFW Themes]Seldom: A Twisted Tale, a story of souls brought together by unlikely circumstances. NSFW

Its an odd thing seeing magic flood into the realm of gods, a place where not many claim to have been. Within Seldom it is even rarer to find the gods themselves wondering the halls of this realm, ancient and old, dusted with the tick of time. The dull thudding of his great bell, Time sits and watches as the clock ticks and ticks and ticks, the same ticking he has listened to for decades and decades. Sitting and watching and waiting for someone new to appear in his great realm. Death visited from time to time, yet he was never one to stay and chat. Always busy, always...

Lady Luck decided to stop by once, it was a rather fun time when she did, but she too had left him alone with his clocks. Time had grown bored, you'd think watching the beginning and end and the rise and fall the ebb and flow of wind as it flooded the world, you'd believe it a grand joke. A endless laughter that would cause him to curl over and laugh the day away, but no, Time had no laughs, no jokes, no japes...

Here he sat, again and again and again in his empty hall of gods. So bored with reality that he decided something, a sudden spark of inspiration, it filled him with fervor, one that would not leave his mind. He was enamored with the idea and wanted to try something. Something he had never tried before.

Time would stand from his throne, the soft dragging steps of his sandal covered feet rushed through the dust covered floors, leaving streaks of foot falls through small mountains of dust, creating valleys and chasms that he would not bother looking back over as he rushed to his library. Taking a moment, he admired the endless halls of his grand horde of books. It rivaled even Greed himself, but Time did not have time to marvel.

Fervently searching the many shelves, picking up book after book after book, Time felt his eagerness grow, his want to see what would happen, to play with the strings of his sisters' tapestry and to see what may happen to the resulting fabric! It was going to be such an interesting time.

Seldom

It is currently the 789th Year of Sallen, currently it is the 18th day of Harvests Rest, on the Continent of Elshire, home to many different people from across Seldom, but still rife with its own issues and dilemma, the current ruling power? The Principality of Marngal, ruled by Prince Hendart Felnazzi Marngal the Fifth. He is not a kind ruler but he is fair, somewhat, his rulings are just if a little one sided, and he allows for basic Religion within the territory, if it is matching to that of The Crown Kingdom he hails from. But over all, Prince Marngal is still the ruling power. However, there is a growing group known as The Federation of Free Nations, they have been slowly gaining more and more ground within the western reaches of Elshire.

On the far southern edge of the Principality of Marngal is the small Port Town of Durn, a 'tiny' place, one where someone can find a hot meal or a place to rest but also a place rife with troubles. From the local Versati* to the rare but not uncommon Nerai* attacks, the people of Durn do their best when it comes to making their lives last long and healthy. Run by a rather old Durokhal* by the name of Girn Stonewrought, Girn has governed the town as a 'mayor' of sorts. While he does not hold the actual title of 'Mayor' he is treated like one, many people know him as he frequents the docks and usually can be found wondering town most days, others he spends his time at the local tavern, The Saltlick.

It is at The Saltlick Tavern our story begins, strangely enough this story was never meant to truly happen, the individuals inside were never meant to meet one another, but somehow, some way, they find themselves inexplicably tied together, be it Fate, or the strange desire of a god they know nothing of, wanting to possibly change the flow of time to see just what might happen.

Only Time, will Tell.

---

Dungeon Master's Note\)
Versati - The Clan name for a local group of Goblins that live outside of Durn in the Velin Woodlands.
Nerai - A Regional name for Merfolk that live within the reef just outside of Durn's Port that attack ships as they pass over head.
Durokhal - The racial name for Dwarves within the setting of Seldom.

---

And that is it! The introduction for Seldom: A Twisted Tale, allow me to step back from the dm screen and introduce myself a little, my name is Octavius A. or Otto or Eight for Short! I am a 25 going on 26 year old Cis Male DM of about ~10 years, I have been doing this back since 2015-2016 when I first got into D&D because of Critical role! And as of about.. 4-ish years ago depending on the timeframe of when I first started work on it created my own 'Forever Setting' a world where the dm continues to run campaigns in, one that does not change, but can be edited and rewritten dozens upon dozens of times but its still the same place!

I have run a few games in this setting already but am right now wanting to run another! This time I bring you Seldom: A Twisted Tale! Now I am sure you may be asking 'What is this story about?' Well my dear interested player I am gonna share with you what it is!

So Seldom: A Twisted Tale, is going to be about 5-6 players who, through the shenanigans of Time, somehow become tied together and travel after discovering a secret plot to possibly unravel Fate's Great Tapestry all because of a single entities actions to 'spice things up' a little.

I know it isn't much but I really think this will be a fun idea that I wanna work with you to play through and develop! Now let me tell you a little about my DM-ing style!

I am a generally Fair Dungeon Master. I try to work with my players to help them develop a character they will really enjoy playing and that they feel like has some real connections in the setting because I want my players to feel like their characters actually have a place in the world! Whatever that may be! I dm using Foundry, a fun Virtual Table Top that allows for the players to create their own sheets, roll virtual dice and see just how the maps are laid out, however I also add in a mix of Theatre of the Mind because not every single scene is going to have a map and not every single map is going to be used for a scene! Some might be scene dressing, others might just be battle maps that I leave on for you guys to look at or explore while I am rambling about stonework and the philosophy of bugs and such.

But other than that I also really enjoy player incentivized roleplaying out of campaign time! I offer a lot of downtime because you aren't just going to be going back and forth up and down all the time! So I offer downtime things like roleplay or journal entry! I love when I see players taking notes as their characters and really encourage it because it gets the player into the mindset of their character!

But for now I think this is all I can really say about my setting without getting REALLY into it and I want to really save a lot of it for the interview's / players who get into the game! So before I really go, this is where I warn you, I do take these applications seriously! I want my players to all have a fun time so when you do apply I will be looking everything over with a fine tooth comb and if you did not give me the correct information like your age or discord then know that I will not be trying to reach out to you because I won't know anything about you. I also do not like liars and anyone caught lying in their application will just be immediately ignored and blocked. So please, take your time and decide if this campaign is one you'd like to join! Otherwise, I can't wait to hear from you! I hope you all have an amazing Wednesday and I will see you then! This is a repost to hopefully spark interest of anyone new looking! This post will be up for about 6 more hours!

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online] [5e 2014/2024] [LGBTQ+ friendly] [18+] [Wednesday 5pm UTC-6] 4 Experienced players looking for a DM

Hello! We are a party of four looking to have a new DM for the foreseeable future.

We've worked out that Wednesday nights starting around 4-5pm UTC-6 work best for all of us; sessions could run as long or short as needed, preferably around 3-4 hours, and ideally occur weekly, although schedule discussions can be done (Wednesday nights are essentially a non-negotiable however).

While we prefer the high fantasy setting of D&D, we would love to discuss with you what kind of story you'd like to tell — making sure that the tale is ultimately the one we'd all like to tell. Additionally, our party DOES have characters we're each very attached to, although the last time we got to play them didn't last very long, so we would all be very happy to readjust and reintegrate them into your world.

At the end of the day we're hoping for a long-term campaign, and naturally: a new friend :> .

As of right now, we'd prefer the campaign to just have the four of us as its party. Just to know what you're getting yourself into with our party:

  • All of us are in our early 20s
  • We live in different countries  (One of us in the U.S., two of us in Canada, and one of us from the Philippines)
  • LGBTQIA+
  • we are a mix of expertise ranging from less experienced (1), moderate-advanced (2), and our former gm with 8+ years of TTRPG experience
  • We are all heavily into roleplay and character development, and will collaborate with you to create whatever we can to make the story whole
  • We are creatives (artists/writers) and are all heavy against the use of generative ai
  • we're the wokers, baby

Please Fill out this google form if you’re interested

GM Needed by Existing Group [Online][Other][Tuesday] We choose you! Group looking for a GM for a Pokémon game

Hello hello! We are a group of five looking to play a Pokemon TTRPG, preferably Pokemon Tabletop Adventures as our group has some experience with the system, but open to others, and looking for a DM who's wanting to run a fun, light hearted adventure. We have varying levels of years and expereince in some systems between all of us, mostly with D&D. All of us are adults and we ask you be one as well. We are also not okay with ANY usage of generative AI, and we WILL be mean about it. The best day we're all free is Tuesdays between 5pm thru 11pm CST. We absolutely love to roleplay and put a lot of work into each of our characters to make them fit into the world and try to give you enough hooks to play around with! We all do have some concepts for characters we want to play and would be excited to shape them to fit a setting. We're also more than happy to workshop the setting and plot ideas with you so we can build a story we all enjoy playing.

Simply said

  • Looking for a GM for a Pokemon TTRPG (Preferably Pokemon Tabletop Adventures, but open to Pokemon Tabletop United, Pokeymanz, etc. Just nothing 5e related)
  • Group of 5 players
  • Available Tuesdays
  • We have experience with Roll20 and Foundry
  • We use discord for voice (and for hanging out)
  • LGBTQ+ Friendly
  • Good to play as either trainers or Pokemon

Feel free to send a message or comment if this interests you at all! Any information about yourself and the game you'd like to run would be appreciated.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014][Saturday][CST] Long-Running Homebrew Campaign Looking for 2 Players!

Hi! We’re looking to add two more players to a long-running homebrew D&D campaign. We currently have three players, and we’d ideally like to bring the group up to five.

This is an established campaign. We’ve been playing together for about four and a half years, and there are no plans to wrap things up anytime soon. We’ve had plenty of people come and go over the years. The game originally began as a more traditional fantasy campaign contained to a single world, but the story has recently entered an entirely new phase.

The campaign also extends well beyond the normal level 20 cap. The current party is level 30, with homebrew progression designed to continue taking the characters further. At its core it is still D&D 5e 2014, but after four and a half years the setting, characters, lore, and mechanics have grown considerably beyond that foundation.

# Campaign Information

**System:** D&D 5e 2014 + Homebrew
**Current Level:** 30
**Players:** 3 currently, looking for 2 more
**Session Time:** Saturdays at 1:00 PM CST
**Session Length:** Usually 5-6 hours
**Frequency:** Every Saturday
**Platforms:** Discord for voice, Roll20 for character sheets
**Campaign Length:** Ongoing

# What Kind of Game Is This?

This is a very roleplay-heavy campaign. Combat absolutely happens and can be important, but there is generally less of it than you would find in a typical D&D game. Characters, relationships, exploration, lore, choices, and the consequences of those choices make up a huge portion of the campaign.

The tone can also change quite a bit depending on what is happening. There are storylines that get genuinely serious, emotional, or intense, but there are also sessions where everyone spends half the night laughing. One of the things we enjoy about the campaign is that it has room for both. It can be dramatic when it needs to be without feeling like the characters aren’t allowed to have fun.

The DM has also built an extremely large amount of lore over the years. There are history documents, setting information, character-accessible documents, and other material that gets sent out as we learn more about the universe. You absolutely do not need to memorize four and a half years of campaign history before joining, but you do need to be someone who doesn’t mind reading and engaging with the material you’re given.

# We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Is 18+. Everyone currently in the group is an adult.
Is comfortable joining an already established group and campaign.

Really enjoys roleplay and character-driven storytelling.
Is vocal and willing to actively participate rather than waiting for everyone else to move the game forward.
Can reliably attend a weekly Saturday game. Obviously life happens, but if you already know you regularly won’t be available at the scheduled time, this probably isn’t the right campaign for you.

Doesn’t mind reading lore and history documents. The DM puts a lot of work into creating information for the players, and we want someone interested in actually engaging with it.

Is patient and understanding. Our DM has a disability that can occasionally mean certain things take a little longer than usual, so we’re looking for people who aren’t going to get frustrated or impatient about that.

Is LGBTQ+ friendly.

Wants to become part of the group rather than simply showing up once a week, rolling some dice, and disappearing.

We know joining a campaign that has already been running for four and a half years, especially at level 30, can sound intimidating. We’re not expecting someone to walk in already knowing everything. What matters much more is finding someone who is enthusiastic about the world, wants to make a character who belongs in it, and is interested in becoming part of the story going forward.

# Disclaimer

I am not the DM. Just a player posting on the DM’s behalf but I can answer any questions you have about the world or setting!

Our DM does use AI-generated material occasionally, primarily for things such as character/location artwork and songs made specifically for the campaign. It isn’t being used to replace the actual storytelling or running of the game, but we know some people have strong feelings about AI-generated content. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, we completely understand, but this probably won’t be the table for you.

We’re ultimately looking for two people who want a genuinely long-term game and aren’t afraid to jump into something big. There’s a lot of history behind the campaign, but we’re entering a new chapter of the story right now, which makes this a particularly good point for new characters to join.

If you’ve made it this far and are still interested in playing. Please shoot me a chat request with some info about you. Name, Age, and Pronouns to start. Please also include why you think you’d be a good fit for the game. The longer/more interesting responses the better! Hope to hear from you soon!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E 2024][Saturday] [5pm-10pm EST][Weekly][long running homebrew campaign]

Hey, everyone. Nice to meet you all, so one of my players had to step away, so I'm looking for a replacement for our ongoing 5e campaign. All i need is one player, so whoever is the best applicant gets the slot! Please read everything posted as the details attached are important.

About the table: We're 5 people: me as DM (male), 3 women (one trans so please be respectful of that), and 1 other guy.

We play on Saturday every Saturday (if possible) on Discord (for our voice chat) and on Roll20 (for our VTT).

The vibe is very much so really relaxed. We are definitely a group of friends who all get along really well, so we are looking for others who can fit that vibe. I do wanna also be a bit upfront. we do have a few in-group jokes that might be a bit jarring perhaps, but I will explain them and make them clear so you're not just blindsided by anything. I should also make clear that this is a darker game with more adult themes, so there may be allusions to darker themes and scenes, so please do keep that in mind.

Who we're looking for: Since most of the table is women, they have asked that the new player be a woman too, so everyone's comfortable. I feel like its only fair that I say up front that they have ran into a lot of creeps and weirdos so they are worried about that happening again so i wanted to be up front and honest so nobody's time gets wasted.

What I'm looking for: First, i want to get out of the way that new or experienced players are welcome. Other than that, honestly, all I ask for is respect, communication, and commitment. This is a long-term game aiming for level 20 and possibly beyond, so I'm looking for someone who can commit for the long haul. We've lost a few players to ghosting and busy schedules, so please only apply if you can realistically show up most Saturdays.

A bit of story/lore: Velastra is a world where the greatest evil ever known was sealed beneath the earth by three legendary champions — or so the Church says. For centuries, the Solarion Church has stood as humanity's protector, its miracles keeping the darkness at bay.

But the black roses are growing again. The rivers whisper in dead languages. And the prison beneath Dawnhold isn't as quiet as it used to be.

Something is coming. The Church is afraid. And the truth, buried under centuries of gold and ceremony, is darker than anyone is prepared for.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, then please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a DM! I look forward to hearing from you.

Player(s) Needed by GM [online][5e/5.5][2024][Monday 9am CST] Fallen Heroes fight agaismt an evil Necromancer

“Mortals of Edreas, hear my voice. I am Izoula—the Fallen Saint. The Mutilated. The Arisen. I herald the ruin of the Four Empires of Betrayal. One by one, their thrones shall crumble. Their banners shall burn. Their hollow promises shall be buried beneath the weight of the sins they have spent generations concealing. Do not weep for your false idols. You were taught to love them. To kneel before them. To believe that their crowns were shields raised to protect you. But watch them now. Watch what they do when their thrones begin to fall. Watch as they sacrifice you for their own survival. Watch as they bury their sins beneath your corpses rather than stand before you and answer for them. This is the truth they have hidden from you: your suffering was never their burden. Your lives were always their currency. So when their empires collapse, do not mourn them. Let their ruins stand as monuments to what they have done. And when the final breath leaves your body, do not believe that it was meaningless. Your deaths will not be forgotten. Your suffering will not be wasted. For from the ashes of their world, I shall build another. A world without their crowns. Without their lies. Without the corruption they so desperately clung to. The old age is dying and I have come to usher in the new.”

Edreas Falls into distress. Empires shut their gates to commoners. Villages are fending for themselves. Life overall has become dire. Can you, a fallen hero, step up to save the land from Izoula’s grasp?

About the Game
In this campaign, Explore a dark fantasy setting about the rise of a powerful necromancer trying to take over the land. Your character was once a notable deceased hero (or Villain) but due to the necromancer Izoula, you have been resurrected. 5.5e will be the primary ruleset for this game, however some rules like exhaustion in 5e I prefer. If you prefer any way classes or features work in 5e you may use them. I do have some minor homebrew rules for Healing Potion, Critical Hits, and going unconscious. The Magic Word Is Moth Man. For lore reasons we will not be using Bloodhunter, artificer, or gunslinger. But this is more preference than it is a restriction.  Resources used will be foundry and DND beyond.
I am seeking a couple of reliable players who are familiar with ttrpgs and dnd in general. You do not need to be a veteran, but if you haven't played before at all, this campaign is not for you.
You do not have to write indepth character backstories. I have a list of necessary questions to help me as a DM, but you are more than welcome to go above and beyond.

About Your DM
I am Georgie, 28 years old, with about 10 years experience, mostly a DM for Dnd. I make my own maps, customize stat blocks, and lore. Outside of the dnd, I do have an interest in other TTRPGS, boardgames, music, horror, cooking, gunpla, video games, and other various nerd culture.

About the group
This post for the campaign already has an established group of 3 players of about 3-4 years. We've lost players due to schedule conflicts and the such. For the few that have stayed, they are some of the nicest people. We are LGBT friendly, love all sorts of nerd culture, and really love our dnd time.

Why the early time slot?
It originally for night shift workers but majority of us dont work nights anymore but we just kept the slot.

Final Note
Below is the important stuff. I am looking to start session 0 on either the 19th or the 26th depending on applicants. When you do apply, it may be a few days before I send request. If you have any questions not covered by this post, ask in the comments or message me. Anyways thank you for reading, have a nice day.

EDIT: Typos, Cant change the one in the title (I've slept like 6 hours in the past 3 days)

Important Information
Timeslot: Mondays 9 am CST to 1 pm
System: 5.5/5e
VTT: Foundry with DND Beyond

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] Saturday, 6pm-10pm MST Looking for 6 players for a superhero campaign in the new year [POC + LGBT friendly]

(NOTE: I don't use daylight savings, so I go by 6pm MST, which is 8pm EST, when daylight savings hits it'll be 7pm EST when session starts in November as my time won't change).

(Introduction)
Hey, Call me Fabio, or Nerdy (My name is not actually Fabio), I am doing something new and just diving in head first to force myself to get this started instead of pushing it off like other campaign ideas I've had, I don't know how long this campaign will go for, or how dramatic it'll be, I am kinda just winging it. I would like to run a campaign based in a homebrew superhero world, using the Marvel Multiverse RPG ruleset but not set in Marvel or DC, we will be using Discord for sessions, Kenku Bot for music, and Roll20 for the VTT. The idea is an alternate world that suddenly changed close to a century ago, the world developed superpowers, some are Metahumans who were born with it, some are mutants who's genes spliced, some are biotech enhancements, some from supernatural forces, aliens, science experiments gone wrong, you name it. This created a world of heroes, villains, and a society fighting to keep order in chaos.

I take inspiration from DC and Marvel comics, Invincible, The Boys, Misfits, Boku No Hero, and if it helps, I imagine the city that will be played in would be close to New York/Gotham/Metropolis-esque city. (for the Nerd Cred, yes I know Gotham is actually Jersey equivalent and Metropolis is Cleveland Ohio). This campaign will be a sorta bit of everything, dark, twisted, funny, chaotic, strange, heroic, etc.

(About Me, the DM)
Now a little about me, I am Nerdy/Fabio, I am 30 year old cis man, I am Bi, and Native Canadian and diagnosed with ADHD and depression (yay). I have been a nerd, gamer, and fan of all things pop culture and sweet nerdy goodness my whole life. (Fun fact: Many suspect my white dad was the nerd, but my native mom was the one getting me into star wars/star trek/xena warrior princess, etc.)
I am also a socialist, very far left, so if you're anywhere center to far right on the political spectrum, we just aren't going to vibe, so need not apply. I enjoy dark/edgy humor that punches up never down, I enjoy silly things with good people, I would prefer my group to have similar ideologies, but I am fine with some liberals. (For quick political recap, I believe in Universal Healthcare, Universal Income, Abolishment of Police, Prison/Education/Medical Reform, I believe all sects of industry need to be heavily regulated, I believe everything needed to live should be public and handled by the government, I don't believe in private ownership, I am very anti bigotry, and I am anti-ai on a industry level (I don't care if you use Chatgpt to organize your thoughts or help with tasks, I do look down upon ai art)).

I've been in the D&D community for about 15 years but I've been playing actively for 6, DMing for 3. I love the storytelling aspects of D&D but I also really enjoy the community and friendships i've built along the way, whether due to a combination of ADHD and depression I hardly do anything outside of prep for d&d and think about d&d, and I would like to broaden my horizons, I've had ideas for a VTM game, Cyberpunk, Call of Cthulhu, even a GUNDAM game, and when I thought of the idea of a superhero campaign last night I didn't wanna drop the ball on this so I am just rushing and getting started instead of letting my ADHD make me put it on the backburner (yay self-growth). If i'm not watching political youtube videos, video essays on popculture, or world building, I'm on pinterest or artstation saving art for future characters/scenes/items, (Currently I have 85 pinterest tabs open, and 209 artstation tabs of different artists that I wanna go through), IIRC I have 35,000 photos saved to my hard drive for future characters in various campaigns I wanna make - I realized long ago I am a digital hoarder.

My DMing style is very much loosy-goosy, I prefer fun, and try not to be a stickler to the rules, but I want things to make sense for the "story", I often like making my players OP or doing crazy things (My current campaign has my party of 6 have about.... 35 NPCs traveling with them, including a pet dragon wyrmling). I can't tell you that I am a great DM, but I can say that many of my players refer to my campaign/DMing style as their favorite.

Some reviews I got from past players:

Wow he's so amazing

Nerdy's DMing style has changed my life for the better

I've never seen a better DM

Fabio is a genius and the greatest creative of our generation

Ferris Buller you're my hero

(I did not make these up/s)

Now that out of the way:

(The Premise)

The idea I have is each of the party members are people who developed their powers and started being active in using them for at least a year in Meridian City, a metropolis in America, whether you are attempting to be a superhero, super criminal, a merc look for money, or someone trying to figure out what changed them, you all discover the murder of Allison Greer, whether she was your friend, a clue, a witness, she was someone important to you, you investigate what happened, and are led on a path that leads you to each other, and opens something dark.
You all must work together to solve this case and figure out what happened to Allison. This will bleed into a "Monster of the week" type campaign where you all deal with oncoming threats and investigations, anything from hostage situations, corrupt cops, corrupt heroes, alien invasion, cults, evil demons, etc. Characters will start at Rank 1 (street level heroes) and work their way up.

(What I Want/Expect)

I am seeking six players, who are left-leaning, interested in roleplay, exploring a dark, twisted, but fun and quirky kind of world, who are invested in creating rich characters and exploring their themes and ideas, an ideal player would be someone who frequently interacts with the discord, chats, shares memes/videos/whatever, answers the question of the day/week, and enjoys brainstorming consistently and being a friend to the group.

I am also hoping for more new players to TTRPG's, people who have never played but are very interested, just because we (including myself) will be new to this game system and I prefer everyone being on the same level, I also find my experiences better with new players as i'm a very loose DM.

For your characters, I am honestly cool with anything, and will find ways to make your character idea work, so be creative as you want, just make sure your character has a reason to be a teamplayer, (they dont necessarily need to "want" to be one, just need to)and just understand your character will essentially be "level 1", if you wanna imagine a superpower superman-esque superhero - thats cool, and can be how they end up, so maybe imagine superboy from young justice first, then later gets to superman

Things I expect players to make for their character:

  • Backstory (at least a page) that explains Origins, beliefs, foundations, goals
  • Memories (writing 6-8 memories that explain or cement beliefs) to further connect with your character
  • Making 5 sets of a truth and a lie, rumors your fellow party members learn of your character as ice breakers
  • The ability/desire to discuss and think of your characters actions/thoughts outside of the game
  • ability to make it to the game on a weekly basis
  • Have a good microphone (bad/static audio makes me zone out)

(The Interview Process)

I usually get a couple dozen applicants from my posts here, so this is the process I formed:

  • You apply via google forms found here: https://forms.gle/arHXJip9RaM4UmeT8
  • I will review and select applicants for interviews next Friday
  • we set an interview (it will take an hour) I will ask questions, give you roleplay prompts, and allow you to ask any questions you may have.
  • Players selected join discord and once all 6 are found, we make characters individually and schedule a session zero (I'm hoping to start in December)

(Disclaimer)

My only experience is D&D, but I am interested but scared of trying new games, how much of a fish out of water would I be with Marvel RPG?

Never fear citizen, Marvel Multiverse RPG (from what I read of the rule book) is pretty straight forward and simplified, most of the rules like movement, actions, etc are similar to d&d.

Inspired by shows like Castlevainia and Overlord.

The Pitch

Somewhere along your life, the world decided to antagonize you. Perhaps you made a mistake that led to more mistakes, or you were misunderstood, or you were born monstrous. Regardless, it was out of your control.

Eventually you did something that ended in your death. Luckily being on the side of darkness does have upsides. An ancient vampiric dragon named Drolltar offered to resurrect you, under the condition that you repay him with your service. He chose you because you have unfinished business, you have in some way been slighted by society. Now you are returned with vampirism, cursed with an irresistible hunger for mortal vitality and granted the ability to reason with monsters and dark beings.

You, along with a group of others who accepted his deal, have been summoned to Drolltar’s tomb. Once you gather there, he will order you to work together to search the land for something to bolster his tomb’s defences, as he lies dormant in his tomb, vulnerable to the zealous forces of light. You too are in danger, Elios the god of light has labeled you as enemies for serving Drolltar and now the forces of light will not take kindly to you.

Details

Aside from the quests that Drolltar gives you, it is an open world for you to do as you like. There are many places to explore and not all of them will be at odds with you.

Though this is an “evil” campaign, that is mostly because your characters are antagonized by society. You are labeled as evil by the god of light, but that is only because you stand in opposition to him. The side of light is not a true authority on morality by any means and in fact in this campaign they are quite often in the wrong. Seeing morality in such a black and white perspective is often a cause of immorality itself, and that is what this campaign is about.

I would like to find 5-6 players who are mature, love the collaborative storytelling element of d&d, and like a little bit of edginess. I expect you to enjoy role-playing your character, have a cooperative relationship with the other players, and allow everyone a moment to let their character shine, showing what makes them interesting.

My goal is to keep an interesting and consistent storyline, which can adapt to your characters’ backstories, themes, and decisions.

The setting is a homebrew dark fantasy world in a medieval period with arcane technology. The game will be a mix of role-playing, exploration, and combat. Some sessions will be role-playing only with no combat.

I am open to using homebrew for your character, especially your species so long as I approve of it, as a more monstrous species can make sense here. Characters start at level 3, leveling up by milestone and will level up slower at higher levels. I am hoping for a long-term campaign where you can defend a massive dungeon that you built up together throughout the campaign.

Rules

There are some ground rules required to keep the campaign healthy.

This campaign welcomes players of all genders, identities, and backgrounds. Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated.

The session day and time will be determined based on the availability of the selected group.

Heavy roleplay is a core part of this game. Players should be comfortable with character development, emotional storytelling, interpersonal relationships, and collaborative scene work.

No torture or sexual violence. We will also go over what other things players are uncomfortable with in session zero. However, as you can imagine, this campaign is meant to have a dark tone so I don’t recommend it to people who are sensitive to dark themes.

You have to work together, there is no doubt going to be conflict between characters, but you also have to get things done and you can’t do that if you’re constantly backstabbing each other and fighting.

You’re not a sadistic monster. You shouldn’t kill everything or destroy everything you come across.

Even though you’re on the side of darkness, you still have feelings. Your character can and should have some human qualities to them. Consider if your character might struggle to accept the things they are forced to do.

Nonetheless, when in Rome – you can get away with doing some pretty twisted stuff at times, since you aren't bound by some of the moral obligations that most other campaigns require.

Joining the Game

We'll use Discord for voice and Roll 20 for maps and rolling.

I will go over some of the world lore during the interview process. And, if you get accepted and once you know what you want for your character, I will find a way to incorporate whatever you need for your character's story to the setting.

I’ve ran a few long term games before, but it’s been a while since my last one. I’m hoping this one will be just as good as the ones before.

If you're interested, please fill out this application form below.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeHSCq63KfYUy86Ll9lZmq1J9kaazkRddaJnlR5kIaykCxF5g/viewform?usp=header

I'll review your submissions and reach out to potential players on discord if I’m interested. It may take a couple days for me to reach out to you though.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Possibly Offline] [Seattle] [5e 2024] [PST] [21+] [Weekdays TBD 6:00PM-10:00PM PST] [LGBTQIA+ Friendly] [Newbie seeking Newbies]

Hey! I'm Tommy (he/him), I'm 26 years old looking for fellow new players and friends to play Daggerheart together with! My DM inspirations are Griffin McElroy and Brennan Lee Mulligan. I really love how they're able to take silly and dumb concepts/tropes and elevate them with sincerity. I essentially would love a group to recreate the feeling of the first TAZ campaign lmaoo.

I truly love sketch comedy and improv (my biggest influences are Nirvanna the band the show and I think you should leave to name a couple) and would love to DM a high fantasy setting I build together with my players that can lean into jokes in a way that makes sense and are never disrespectful! I wouldn't want comedy to be the only vehicle and will definitely want moments to take the game seriously but the scenarios the party gets into will probably be goofy (I still think fantasy costco is funny lol).

I've DM'd a few times and know I love it very much! I'm still new and tend to adhere to the rule of cool since I value creativity more than the nitty gritty so some patience may be needed on that front. I would also love new players as this is honestly an excuse for me to make new friends in my age range and play something together :) Message me here or on discord (tommyboytwt) if you're interested!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2014] [CST] DM Looking for 5 Premade Players — 3-Month Sunday Campaign

Hey everyone!

I'm a longtime online DM with a homebrew campaign that I'm really excited to run. The campaign is designed for 5 players and will run for approximately 3 months on Sunday mornings.

The catch: I'm specifically looking for a premade group of 5 players who already know and have played with each other for more than a few sessions.

I'm looking to give another DM a break for a few months by running their group through my campaign. Each player would play their own PC during the sessions.

You'll need access to Foundry VTT and Discord.

The Setting

The campaign takes place in Sanctuary, a massive underground dystopian city built from the remnants of a dying world.

The surface is nearly dead.

An enormous creature from beyond this world has been slowly feeding on the life of the planet. The land is becoming a wasteland, earthquakes tear through what remains, and civilization has collapsed across much of the world.

Only a handful of powerful cities remain.

Sanctuary is one of them.

Home to powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, and dangerous guilds, the city should be humanity's greatest hope for survival.

Instead, its wizards are too busy fighting over power, politics, and their own interests to deal with the world dying around them.

The Fae Queens are barely holding the last remnants of life together.

The surface is dying.

The city is cracking.

And something is coming.

Campaign Tone

The campaign is heavily inspired by:

  • Dragon Age
  • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar
  • The Witcher
  • Dark Souls
  • Forgotten Realms
  • He Who Fights with Monsters
  • Brandon Sanderson

It's a mix of dark fantasy, exploration, large-scale battles, political conflict, strange magic, and player-driven choices.

Your decisions can have lasting consequences on the city, its people, and the factions within it.

Game Rules

  • D&D 5e 2014
  • Mostly standard rules
  • Most official 2014 content is allowed
  • Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is generally allowed
  • Very few house-rule adjustments
  • Homebrew content is available for the setting, including some homebrew classes
  • Character creation will be discussed with the group before play

Game Requirements

  • Foundry VTT installed on your PC
  • Discord installed on your PC
  • A good-quality microphone
  • Ability to communicate clearly through Discord
  • A reasonably quiet playing environment
  • Reliable attendance

Schedule

Sundays: 8:15 AM – 11:15 AM CST

There will be a 15-minute break in the middle of the session.

The campaign is expected to run for approximately 3 months.

What I'm Looking For

I'm specifically looking for 5 players who already play together and have good chemistry as a group.

You don't need to be professional roleplayers or hardcore D&D veterans. I'm mainly looking for a group that:

  • Gets along well
  • Works together
  • Enjoys roleplay
  • Is comfortable communicating over Discord
  • Shows up consistently
  • Wants to experience a campaign where their choices actually matter

If your regular DM wants a break for a few months, this might be a good fit.

If you're interested, send me a Reddit DM with a little information about your group:

  • How long you've been playing together
  • How many players are in the group
  • Your general D&D experience
  • Confirmation that Sunday 8:15–11:15 AM CST works for everyone
  • A little about what your group enjoys most about D&D

The Hook

The world is dying.

The surface has become a wasteland. Something from beyond this world has been feeding on the life of the planet, and the civilizations that once stood against it are mostly gone.

What remains survives beneath the earth.

Sanctuary is one of the last great cities of the mortal realm — a massive underground civilization built by people who fled the dying surface.

It is a city of powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, dangerous guilds, and ordinary people simply trying to survive.

But Sanctuary has a problem.

The wizards who rule the city are too busy fighting over power, politics, research, and old grudges to agree on what should be done about the world outside.

Meanwhile, the surface continues to die.

You aren't a legendary hero.

Not yet, anyway.

You're an adventurer who needs gold.

Fortunately, there's always work for people willing to risk their lives.

The Retrievers Guild specializes in recovering magical artifacts, lost knowledge, and valuable resources from places no sane person would willingly visit.

You've spent weeks looking for work.

Today, you finally get a contract.

A surface expedition.

Good pay. Valuable discoveries. A chance to make a name for yourselves.

Your group arrives at the Retrievers Guild warehouse.

Hundreds of adventurers are preparing for the expedition.

Wagons are being loaded.

Weapons are being checked.

Spells are being prepared.

Your contract seems simple:

Protect the expedition.

Protect each other.

Bring back what you find.

But the surface has secrets.

The Drow are moving.

The Fae are dying.

Something is hunting the survivors of the old world.

And the deeper you get into the ruins of what came before, the more obvious it becomes that this expedition isn't just about treasure.

The world is dying.

Sanctuary is running out of time.

And eventually, you'll have to decide what you're willing to do about it.

Will you protect Sanctuary?

Change it?

Or burn it down and build something better?

That choice belongs to you.

Group Needed by Player [Online][5e 2014] Experienced Player Trying to Break a Curse on Tuesdays

Hello! I'm looking for a weekly online game. The only hang up is I can only do Tuesdays due to my work schedule. I understand that's pretty steep, so here's some reasons why you should consider me for your next batch of players:

I've carried the forever DM curse with me ever since I started TTRPGs in 7th grade. I'm 26 now. I absolutely adore running D&D games, but I simply don't have the time to do it right in this stage of my life. What this means, though, is you'll have a player who is intimately aware of the struggles of running a game. I know how not to behave, how to engage with threads and hints, how to interact with my fellow players, and how to adapt to the group as a whole. I know these things because I've seen them done well and unfortunately wished some of my own players did a better job at them.

I can do silly voices, and that's always fun.

I am adaptable to different playstyles. RP heavy? Love it, let me adjust my backstory to fit your plotlines. Lots of combat? Excellent, here's a build that can interact with the environment and cause fun mechanical moments. Exploration? I've always wanted to play a botanist. I'll gladly catalogue every homebrew mushroom you can throw at me.

My first goal is community. D&D can form amazing bonds between players through their characters, and I'd love to form a tight knit group that doesn't just leave the discord server after the campaign wraps. Who knows, maybe I'll DM the next campaign we run?

I like to think I have a good sense of kindness and maturity.

Please respond below or DM me (haha) below! I'd love to hear what you're cooking.

Oh also if you prefer 2025, I can do that too. I just know 2014 better.

Group Needed by Player (5e) (Preferring 2024) (Online) (Sun,Wed,Thur) Avid Roleplayer Seeking Game & Group

Hello there!

My name is Jo. I'm 26 years old, I've a humble 8+ years of experience or so playing DnD (almost all online) and I'm quite an enthusiastic role-player, always trying to make memorable emotive characters who have clear dynamics with fellow party members. In terms of the game I can say I know the rules pretty well and I honour them!

Before I tell you more about myself I want to let you know what I'm looking for. I tend to mesh better with those who really get into into roleplay but not at the detriment of combat, I don't really thinking ratioing them works in truth plainly put. I am not a fan of AI and would like to avoid playing in games that feature it in its many forms. Overall I would like a much longer-term game so we as a group can really sink our teeth into the game and characters. So yes, thats some of what I'm looking! Back to more details about myself for you to get to know me!

I'm invested in interacting with the DM and getting them as involved in my character creation and idea/plot as possible. You can bet that I'll bring at least a shell for a character for the two of us to fill and work out and fit into your settings.

I do put a lot of effort into doing character voices and making interesting personalities for my characters. I've played a wide range of characters, ranging from the snobby noble caster to the hard on his luck humble monk to a performative wizard persona. I've played just about every class in the time I've enjoyed the hobby. I adore describing spells and re-flavouring abilities to better fit a character's image or themes.

I truly love Dungeon's and Dragons.

As a side note I've used both foundry and roll20 for many years now, so I'm quite proficient with them and I've used a few other VTTs over the years other than these two.

I'm happy to join an ongoing group if we plan to play as I see it as unique opportunity with both dynamics and possible character introduction.

About my scheduling:

My workplace actually isn't open on Sunday so I know for a fact that my attendance won't be jeopardised by work. The other listed days I typically have fully off! With timezones in mind, the actual timing of the game doesn't need to fit me in any overt way as I'm fairly flexible with Sunday as my day off. The other days are much the same. I might have possible openings for games outside of these days but that's something to discuss with the DM beforehand.

My preference for session length is 4 hours, if not a bit over that actually. So yes, while I am in America I could very easily and comfortably play with western Europeans.

I'm happy to join a brand-new group or ongoing. I hope to help keep a group going long enough for us to get the entire return of our joint efforts.

I look forward to hearing back from you, and I wish you a lovely rest of your day. I'm open to chat here on reddit or friend request to chat more on discord, if you want to know anything further or to meet over call. I'll be active on here for the rest of the night so please feel free to contact me!

Player(s) Needed by GM Seeking 3-5 Players for an Atmospheric Low-Fantasy Mutli-shot Adventure [Online][Fate][Weekly: Tuesdays/Fridays/Saturdays 7-10pm UTC+2][Homebrew Setting]

Wether you're wrapping up or just finishing a long campaign and are looking to cooldown; or have gone too long without playing and want some warming up (and anything in between) this is the adventure for you.

I'm Nick (he/him) and I am looking for 3-4 players to join me as players for an atmospheric short adventure (6 sessions max) with lots of roleplay and exploration without disregarding combat in a homebrewed environment.

-Small scale, chill and open to creativity

-Weekly or biweekly sessions (we will discuss scheduling)

-Discord for voicechat and music, theatre of the mind mostly, owlbear for a simple battlemaps and character sheets.

-System: FATE. I find it very fitting for the vibe I want and also very flexible. However, I am open to other suggestions.

-It's going to be my first time running it. Don't get discouraged, we will butcher it together :).

-Very generally, low fantasy medieval setting (not grim nor dark necessarily). Not a nautical adventure.

The jist is this:

The island of Bulwark, is the southernmost cartographed and populated point from the mainland. 3 days by boat to reach.

The settlement of Bulwark is on top of the island. Despite what it's location would suggest it is not some backwater, frontier camp town; even though not as big or impressive as the cities of the mainland, the settlement boasts an intelligent layout, competent architecture and ancient walls.

Other than it's distance from the mainland, the island's main attraction is the tournaments it hosts. Men and women sign up to fight for money or recognition. Every couple of years it hosts the small tourney: a brackets style tournament. No one knows how the participants are selected for it, but the rewards are grand.

The adventure will have the PCs arriving to the island during the small tourney season.

Other details after being selected. Plus I will be tinkering the adventure on parallel to character creation to cater it to the characters and adapt it to the players and the world building that will come as a result of character creation.

If you are interested fill out this form :)

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2024] [Mondays] [6pm EST] [11PM UTC] Monsters of Haagrin Isle. A Beer-and-Pretzels Style Monster Hunting Campaign

The campaign is set on a island inspired by Celtic, Scandinavian, Greek, and Japanese Folk tales and fighting the Monsters from them. The party will be part of a guild of monster hunters starting a new chapter on this island.

The campaign is focused on self contained quests that do not require the players to remember too many specific details from previous quest. The focus is on the choices and gameplay in the current session. The goal is to create a light experience that is easy to engage with after a missed a session or two.

The story is going to be more emergent than designed so detailed backstories are great for informing player decisions but will not the primary focus.

I am seeking 5 players

The group will meet weekly online at 6:PM EST/ 11:00pm UTC whenever 3 or more of the players can attend.

The campaign will be hosted in discord and on Roll20.

A session 0 will be held this Monday.

Dm me if you are interested :)

Group Needed by Player [Online][5E 2014 or 2024] [Flexible] [Mon Tue Thu Sat Sun] [EST] [LGBTQ+Friendly] Experienced player looking for a new game

• Upvotes

Hi there. I (29m) just finished a campaign and would be excited to start a new one with new fellow players! I love the RP aspect of dnd and want to make a character that vibes with the story and the players, creating an interesting dynamic. I have around 5 years of experience, including 3 years DMing with 5e. I've got some character concept ideas if they fit in the world; otherwise, we can collaborate on what would.

A couple of things:

I have VTT experience with Foundry and Roll20, so no need for me to learn them.

I am free on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after 6 pm. Saturdays and Sundays anytime.

I also have a good grasp of the rules, so I can help with some edge cases if that is welcome :).

Discord: turk750

Feel free to message me here or on my Discord if you're interested. I hope to hear from you!

Group Needed by Player Dnd 5e 2014. Looking for players to join me offline in the Boston area.

Hello, I'm Crispy, 31m, and Im a DM looking to actually run my first in person game. I've been a DM for about 6 years now and have ran a few different games in a few different systems.

I am wanting to run a Curse of Strahd campaign soon. I've run it a few times online, but it'll be a first for me in person. I'm looking to run the games on Sundays early in the afternoon. I'm not sure if it'll be weekly or bi-weekly just yet.

For info. Curse of Strahd(CoS) is a gothic-horror campaign set in the Forgotten realms inside a demiplane known as Barovia. Ran by a Vampire lord who rules over the land. Many triggers as it comes with the territory of Horror. Reach out to me if you're interested or have questions.

Looking forward to seeing you in Barovia.

Group Needed by Player [Online][PF2e][GMT] Player looking for a group with a focus on exploration and combat

Hey folks, I'm a 42 year old man who has been GMing a Pathfinder 2e game for a few years now and have also played in one campaign, but found it wasn't to my taste. So here I am now looking for a game as a player which is more focused on the areas I enjoy: exploration and combat. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy some RP, but I feel RP heavy games tend to end up with a lot of superfluous roleplay which drags things out a bit much for my taste. At the end of the day, I see TTRPGs as a game first and foremost rather than an extended improv session of collaborative storytelling.

So with all that being said, I'm posting here in hopes that there's a group out there which shares my tastes and has a spot free. I am UK based and would be available any day except Friday and Saturday, and could play any time between 6pm and 4am GMT (I'm a bit of a night owl).

I should probably also mention that I prefer to play characters that are at best morally grey and perhaps outright evil, but always with a reason to work with a group even if they're do-gooders.

If I sound like a good fit for your group, please drop me a message.

Closed [Online] [D&D 5e 2024] [18+] [Free] [Beginner Friendly] [Saturdays] [5 PM CDT]

Update: At this point, the party is full. However, please let me know if you wish to join the discord for future sessions.

Tales of the Guild: The Briarbound

Some promises are forgotten. Others refuse to die.

[Online] [D&D 5e] [18+] [Free] [Beginner Friendly] [Saturdays] [5 PM CDT]

I'm recruiting 2 additional players for The Briarbound, a three-act dark fantasy adventure combining mystery, investigation, exploration, roleplay, and tactical combat.

The Contract

Two villagers are dead. The harvest is failing. And something has been attacking the livestock and people of a remote farming village.

The local mayor has requested assistance, but the reward is hardly worth the danger.

After sitting untouched on the Adventurers' Guild noticeboard, the contract is finally assigned to a temporary party of C-Rank adventurers.

Your orders?

Travel to the village. Investigate the reported wolf attacks. Eliminate the threat. Return to the guild.

Simple enough. Or so you've been told.

Adventure Details

  • System: D&D 5e
  • Starting Level: 3
  • Schedule: Saturdays, 5:00–10:00 PM Central
  • Duration: Session 0 + 3 gameplay sessions (approximately 15–20 hours total)
  • Start Date: TBD
  • Platform: Discord (voice) + D&D Beyond
  • Party: 3/5 confirmed — 2 openings
  • Cost: Free
  • Age: 18+
  • Experience: New and experienced players welcome

What to Expect

This is a cooperative, character-driven adventure where decisions have consequences. Expect meaningful NPC interactions, investigation, exploration, challenging encounters, and opportunities to shape the story through your choices.

I'm looking for players who enjoy roleplaying, collaborating with their party, and becoming invested in the world.

Table Expectations

  • No PvP.
  • Respect other players and share the spotlight.
  • Avoid metagaming.
  • Be able to commit to all four sessions.
  • Engage with the story and communicate openly.

About the DM

This is my first adventure as a Dungeon Master. I've been developing The Briarbound as a self-contained story, with the hope of eventually expanding Tales of the Guild into an ongoing series.

I also hope to record and transcribe sessions for a possible written adaptation, but only with everyone's informed consent.

Interested?

Send me a direct message and I'll send over more information.

2 of 5 player slots remain.

The contract is posted. The Guild Master is waiting.

Will you answer the call?

Closed [3.5 D&D] [Online] [Thursdays 7PM EST] Toteninsel - Roguelike-style ever-changing dungeon crawl (drop-in friendly)

Looking for players for a long-term 3.5e dungeon crawl. 8 slots. Drop-in friendly.

Toteninsel is a remote, rainy island cut off from the rest of the world. An unexplored dungeon sits on it that rearranges itself every visit. Some runs are easy. Others throw something lethal at you with almost no warning. There’s no big plot or end goal, just whatever the dungeon generates, the chance at treasure, and the slow process of building a town outside the entrance so you have somewhere to come back to.

I’m running this to get better at 3.5e. Official material only, no house rules yet. Death is easy to happen, but the dice are fair and I’m not trying to unfairly kill anyone so think of it as potentially hardcore difficulty.

Details

  • D&D 3.5e.
  • Foundry VTT + Discord.
  • Thursdays, 7 PM EST.
  • Starts at level 1.
  • Sessions can run long or end fast if the party dies or retreats.
  • Open campaign, at minimum you must play at least once a month.

Apply

Fill out the form: https://forms.gle/wjaTPJdV1CLLXvhK7

Full rules, setting, and character creation info are in the form.

Group Needed by Player [Online][5e 2014][5e 2024][GMT+2][Free] Player looking for story in the Forgotten Realms/Exandria

Hi everyone, I have been an avid D&D DM for 5 years and would love to play again. I have been thinking of a couple character concepts that I'd love to try out (Druid, Rogue or Sorcerer since I've never played these classes) and would love to have either a module or a homebrew story in the Forgotten Realms or Exandria as those are my favorite settings. I am trying to improve my RP ability and would love to take part in a story where character choices/backstories hold real weight in the story.

If any parties are taking on more please reach out to me on discord (dolphinmannn). I am not interested in paid games.
