Anybody else love TPL and its gameplay style AND love jak 2/3 but wish the jump didnt happen so fast? Like if there was a game similar to TPL that built heavily on the sages and the potential other powers but eventually jak 2/3 were still in the timeline. I feel like there is so much available in TPL that couldve made a great 2nd game with the similar style and then pushed into the jak 2/3 story.

If you had control over the story, how would you go about adding another TPL style game and then eventually leading it into the jak 2/3 games?

Hi everyone. Hopefully this is a safe space to talk about this....

So I live in a pretty rough part of the world. Like, really rough. I won't say exactly where but the city I live in, is mostly a slum, half of its flooded, there's huge wealth inequity and our mayor has started calling himself "Baron"...

Anyway, I was on my way to the market yesterday minding my business, when a ve-hicle shoots past and knocks me down! As I got up I saw the driver run over one of my neighbors, jump out and punch another one, then steal his ve-hicle and take off! in broad daylight!

I even called out to the nearby officers for help, but him and the other officers on the scene were too busy grumbling about some kid with a rat on his back to even notice!

Idk am I overreacting or do these guys sound kinda.....corrupt?

With the current (& great) wave of porting a happening due to rapid AI development. I want to give the opengoal team their flowers for reverse engineering a custom language & porting our beloved series to our computers, with great mods & upgrades that followed.

I am not anti-AI as a dev myself, so this isn't a post to belittle current games being ported.

However, none of these ports will feel as authentic as opengoal Jak. Thank you guys.

I know that the fan made pc ports predates the recent boom in vibe coding grossness, but that obviously wouldn't stop recent work on them from using it. As someone who is not willing to trample my convictions to get to video games, I just want to know if LLMs have been used in this.

This image was taken on June 3rd of 2013. At this point, I had beaten Jak 3, the Daxter game on psp, and also the Lost Frontier Game. This photo is the final score on the very last mission in Jak X Combat Racing. I remember thinking I had lost, but then the score appeared... I immediately grabbed a camera (I think this was taken on either my iPod or Nokia phone.) I had tied perfectly with G. T.Blitz (who I remember being the twist villain), but somehow placed 2nd, and simultaneously received a Gold Medal (the first place prize.) I remember races can come pretty close to a tie, as the NPCs don’t hold back. Being a kid, many of the Jak games took me years to finally beat. Let me know if something like this ever happened to you, and maybe you didn't have a camera nearby.

I grew up on Playstation 2 games, Jak 2 being the first console game I've ever played. I am now 28, and have since beaten every game in the series! I thought I lost this image and was glad that I found it. After 10 years of not touching the games at all, I’ve begun replaying them with one of my best friends. As soon as we beat Jak X, I’m definitely showing him this photo. Also, I probably won’t have him play The Lost Frontier. IYKYK 😆

With the capability of snapdragon flagship chips nowadays. Would it be crazy to attempt to run opengoal on my s26 ultra? Im really curious if it's even possible

The soundtrack while racing dosen't even compare to Jak X that was the only complaint I could think of

Dio mio, questo gioco non è invecchiato bene. Non credo di aver mai giocato a un titolo AAA con più tearing dello schermo e cali di frame rate più aggressivi.

Saw how much love you guys shared with my previous post. Despite us not getting anything from Sony or Naughty Dog I'm still working on my port (Wont be released ever but I'll wanna do a play through and post it) and although I have lots to go through and my motivation has carried me through out the weeks and months I'm just happy to help breathe some life into this game and the story/characters we are all fond of.

I'll post more once I got more to share with how things are progressing if you'd like.

Dark Flight (Jak II) and True Flight (Jak 3) 0.5 are out!

Both OpenGOAL flight mods just got their 0.5 release, and both are now on jakmods.dev, so they show up in the OpenGOAL launcher's Mods tab if you have that setup. If you set them up using the instructions in my prior posts, you'll get these updates on the mods tab too.

What's new:

Fly the whole city: Haven's flight ceiling is now 200 m in both games. Until now each district had a ceiling just above its rooftops; that's gone, so you can take Dark Jak or Light Jak up over the skyline and cross the city at turbo while the districts stream in ahead of you.

Dark Jak flies in Jak 3 with new wing styles: R3 switches his wing style between the purple glow and the smoked-glass look.

Unlimited eco comes switched on: The games' own "Unlimited Dark Jak" and "Unlimited Light Jak" secrets are unlocked and on by default in any save. Prefer the original costs? Switch them off in the Secrets menu and Dark Jak's timer and Light Jak's meter work exactly like the stock game, with one exception: flying itself never costs anything. Flaps and glides are free either way.

Controls, both games: double jump then press X in the air to take off, X to flap, hold L1 to glide, L1+R1 turbo, R1 tap to dash, Square for the superhero landing.

**Install / update:** OpenGOAL launcher → Mods → find Dark Flight (Jak II) or True Flight (Jak 3) in the jakmods.dev list → Install. Already have it? Hit Update. The 0.5 release can take up to half an hour to appear there after publishing; if you don't see it yet, add this source under Settings → Mods and it's there immediately:
