I have to come to Jackson next week and am trying to plan where to eat.
I want some suggestions of decently priced food, it doesn’t matter if it’s burgers, chicken, fries, southern home cook meals, or a buffet. Nothing that will cost me an arm and a leg, preferably something that’s affordable for 3 people to eat decently.

Anyone got a beater vehicle
I know it's not the place to beg but does anyone got a vehicle they no longer want and or is just sitting there? I'm on hard times and need a way to do gig work.

Brandon City Hall Live parking?
I'm going to the Sonic concert over at the Brandon City Hall next week, and I'm curious what the parking situation is like since I've never been that way before. The website mentions the free on-site parking, but does that fill up regularly for events? Are there any alternate spots for parking nearby?

Hickory Pit needs a reboot
I drove thru and got a pulled pork sandwich at 2:00 this afternoon. Asked the window guy to put the sauce on it so I wouldn’t spill in on my car.
The meat was barely warm. The bun was soggy. There was no more than a teaspoon of sauce on it. DEF not worth $9.00!
Cmon, guys. You can do better than that. You’re a staple in NE Jackson but your service and QC has gone to the dogs.
PS. I called them afterwards and asked if they’re interested in customer feedback. I told the dude about my experience. He thanked me. Didn’t offer to comp me next time.

Anthony Bourdain event in Jackson (???)
Just saw this and thought it was of interest. Seems to be the author of a new book about Bourdain + cinema, and getting interviewed by the director of the Mississippi film collective. Nov 4 5-7 at Lemuria. I only found out about it by chance, so thought others might be the same.

Searching
Searching for someone
Hello, my name is Michael Foster, and I own a private investigation company here in Jackson, MS (Foster’s Investigative Services). I have a client (Joe Snyder from New York) who is trying to locate an acquaintance who used to perform cleaning services for him along with her mother around May of 2005. Her first name is Victoria, and she used to live in the vicinity of Old Town Crossing in Ridgeland right across from the train tracks. The homes have long been torn down, and there isn’t much left in that area besides new businesses. I have attached photographs of Victoria, along with a map and a photo of where her house used to be located. If anyone has any idea where I might find her, please call me. (617) 460-1794. Everything is confidential, and if she does not wish to speak to my client for whatever reason, I will not disclose her location or personal information unless she gives her consent. Thank you!

Hinds district attorney election guide: Meet the candidates
Hinds County voters will go to the polls Nov. 3 to select their next district attorney in a quick-turn special election to fill out the term of former District Attorney Jody Owens, who pleaded guilty over the summer to a federal bribery charge stemming from an FBI sting operation to uncover corruption in Mississippi’s capital city.
Mississippi Today invited candidates to answer questions about their qualifications and priorities.

Is there anyone looking or willing to adopt or rehome an one year old male Tabby Cat
He’s one. He’s very sweet. He loves to play and being the center of attention. He is obsessed with cuddles. Urgently need to find him a new home. I would gladly keep him but he is not currently neutered and I already have two unspayed female cats and it’s getting a little hectic in my house. To stop them from going at each other the male has been in a room by himself and that’s not the life we want for him when all he wants is love. Any anyone can get him today or anytime soon. Food and litter and litter box will be provided.

I need a nail tech
Hey yall! I've had bad luck recently with the nail salon I've been to a couple of times. Most recently, the glue on the GelX nails didn't cure all the way and I've lost four nails in a week. Needless to say I think I need to find a better spot 😂
I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about techs vs. salons, if there even is a major difference! So I'd love some suggestions on spots in the jxn metro area to get my nails done did! Thanks yall!
(Btw, the pic is the inspo pic for my most recent set. This level of nail art is kind of what Im after 💖)

Job hunting
I am currently working in retail but I need a job with a guaranteed 40 hours a week. I make $15/hour now. I'd like to make more though. I have a 4 yr degree from MUW in Business. I'm computer savvy and trainable. Clean criminal background.
Does anyone know of anything in the Jackson and surrounding areas that are hiring?

Hubby in Canton for work-trying to find other options besides expensive hotels
Hello, my husband and I have been married for 14 years I’m 36 and he is 45. He is an industrial sprinkler fitter with union 669 and he is in town working for the unforeseeable future. I’m looking to relocate down here with him, but I’m trying to figure out what would be the best thing for us to do immediately as far as weekly rentals and affordable rates because he makes plenty of money, but I don’t want to spend everything. We have just trying to stay afloat when we were here for the week. I’m looking for a temporary room to rent for a couple weeks until we can find a more permanent solution or a hotel that offers nicer weekly rates or even an Airbnb if you’re familiar with one. Is there any trailer parks around here that rent? Do you guys know any private rental properties? We are all good on evictions we’ve never had one and I’m still in good standings with my rental car property company currently but he will be working here for about a year so I don’t really want to commit to anything longer than that.!! if anyone has any advice or anywhere, I can look to get started on this task please let me know. Also, we both have nonviolent felonies on our record if that matters it’s just from previous drug charges, but they still haven’t fallen off the seven year yet

Ridgeville/flowood apartment suggestions?
Hi! I'm moving to Mississippi soonish (my residency start date is January 2nd). I was told to look into Ridgeland and flowood. Any suggestions for places that would be safe for a single female to live? (I'm also hoping to avoid paying an arm and a leg since the lease I have in Columbus is stupid and I have to pay for it for 10 months after I leave 😅). I'm hoping to stay at or below what I'm currently paying (1350 per month for a 2 bedroom) but that's probably unreasonable 💀. Thank you!

Anyone missing a girl pit mix puppy in the Byram area?
My parents found this little girl wandering in traffic and scooped her up. She had no collar; they tried to ask around the area and no one recognized her. They also took her the vet and she had no chip. She is super social/friendly, got along with their dogs, rode in a car well, and seems like she was pretty well cared for.
If she is yours, please send a picture as proof and they'll get her back to you! If not, she'll need a home, so if you're interested please send a message. (Will be checking vet references before giving her to anyone.)
Just an update to add: the vet suggested she was very young. Not a small puppy, obviously, but not fully grown either.

Senior Care Recommendations
I am currently looking for senior care for my parents. I am looking into agencies as well, but I wanted to see if anyone could recommend an individual caregiver. My parents are needing some assistance with light housekeeping and preparing breakfast and lunch. If you know someone who is reliable, caring, and experienced with senior care, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations!
Thank you!
