Coming to Life I can't decide

My boss gave me some cushion covers from the company for free, and I was already planning to switch up the pillows in my bedroom anyway. So now I’m trying to figure out which one looks best and which one fits my bedroom style better.

Right now, I only have a real-life pic of the smallest-check pattern. The other ones haven’t arrived yet, so I won’t be able to see what they actually look like until tomorrow.

Furniture Placement A Cabinet That Gets the Details Right 🤎

I love furniture that looks good without trying too hard. The design, the finish, the little details — they all make a difference.

Would you go for this style in your home, or do you prefer something more modern and minimal?

How is everyone arranging their faux branches in vases? Do you go for a more dramatic uneven spread like I’ve done or do you go for neater arrangements?

Coming to Life how to tone down orange wood in a bedroom?

Looking for advice on how to tone down the orange wood color that is currently present in our room. the bed frame, dresser and nightstands are also a similar color wood which does not help.

I'm looking for something to add dimension and vibrancy to the space while still highlighting the natural features of the room. I think the wood is beautiful! and am not looking to/able to make any changes to it (rental apartment).

Photos 1-3 are the current bedroom and 4-6 are inspiration/the vibe I would like to work towards.

Paint & Colors Really lost with what color to paint my awkward bathroom

Post image
4 Upvotes

Kind of as the title describes. Got our first place (woohoo) and we are doing renovations and repainting. I’ve been putting this bathroom off for two weeks now hoping a color or idea will have struct me and it still hasn’t.
Rest of our house will be 70’s or mid century modern inspired in terms of furniture and painted walls if that matters. I just do not want plain white walls in this bathroom because I think it’ll be off compared to the rest of the house. And I haven’t found any good inspiration to help me get the ball rolling in getting this room even tackled…

Any and all reccomendations would be highly appreciated :) Thanks

Furniture Placement Ideas for odd space in new apartment?

So this is more of a small mother in law than an apartment, it’s a 2 bed 1 bath my bestfriend and I will be renting together and we can’t figure out how to best optimize the singular communal space. This kitchen area (included in pictures below) is right off the entrance and has a carpeted nook to the right of it before opening to the hallway to our rooms, laundry, and bathroom. Is this just enough room for a dining table and functional kitchen? It’s just the two of us but we’d love to be able to have people over, what could we do to make it more liveable other than making the small carpeted area more storage or something. Any ideas help I’m curious!

Curtains & Blinds Just finished the playroom windows, how does it look?

Post image

Went with woven ramie shades from NeutralCurtains for the playroom. Loved how the woven texture looks warm without blocking all the light, but four panels in a row with nothing else around them feels a little flat. Wondering if I should add side curtains to frame the windows or just leave the shades on their own. What do you think?

Find my Style Teak/hammered copper/plants/style

I'm trying to understand what to look up to put together a style for my new house. In rentals I've had a lot of white walls and wood and then my plants were basically the whole style. Now, I can choose colour, hardware, lighting, etc and am getting overwhelmed. Even building out just the kitchen/dining room would help! I have a mid 2000s house, with white kitchen cabinets/appliances and faux tile vinyl sheet flooring and laminate faux granite counter tops. I can't afford for any of those things to change. It gets lots of natural light and the dining room is attached. I want to paint (the colour has been described currently as baby poo or dried dijon), and change the lighting. My dining room table is teak and I'm SO drawn to something like this light, even if I can't afford it. IF I could, how could I pull all those elements in together to make something cohesive?

Paint & Colors Bathroom update

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi there! We have a guest bathroom that I want to update, without investing too much because it isn't used a ton.

I was thinking of changing the vanity to a white one, changing out the mirror and light, removing the shower doors and hanging a high shower curtain.

I am stumped by the yellowish beige tile. I don't like the color, but replacing it feels like a big lift. Any ideas?

Finishing Touches Is this the right coffee table

Thumbnail

I hate my coffee table, can't put feet on it, too leggy, and found this bronze metal style one which is 90cm, and a little bit lower. My current one is 70cm wide. But at same time I really like the black organic shaped one which is 120cm long. Could be too big for my current sofa but intend to replace that in coming year with something wider and in fabric. But functionally both are okay. Which one should I get?

Most of my stuff is from marketplace, table was originally $70 second hand, likewise for everything else really so it'll be the first time I buy something new. Don't like wasting money unless I'm certain.

Furniture Placement Ever wondered how a marble dining table over 3 meters long is joined together on the inside? 👀

Most people see a beautiful marble dining table and focus on the surface, the color, or the design.
But have you ever wondered how a marble tabletop longer than 3 meters is joined together internally?
A table this large isn’t just about choosing a beautiful slab. The joining method, internal support, and installation all matter when it comes to creating a stable, well-finished piece.

Textiles & Fabrics Rug suggestions for navy blue/greyish carpet?

Trying to find a 6x9 rug to put under a bed and want something that will not clash with the carpet color. Liked the look of a jute rug but have to avoid because my cats will tear it up. Furniture in the room leans industrial - lots of brown and black. Any suggestions?

Finishing Touches Help me improve my primary bedroom

Thumbnail

We moved into this house a few years ago and I’ve slowly been making each room my own. I feel like I’ve had a specific vision for each room, but when it comes to our primary bedroom… I’ve got nothin’. I want it to feel cozy and inviting, but can’t seem to figure out how to get it there. I’d love to go dark and moody, but I’m not sure how to do that with the existing wallpaper (or how to get my husband on board). What would you add or change in this room, keeping in mind that the major elements—furniture, wallpaper, and curtains—all have to stay for now?

Also, before the r/tvtoohigh people come for me— I already know. 😆

Find my Style Home office help

The office in my fiancé and my apartment is the one place where we were completely lazy and just put all of our stuff that we didn’t know what else to do with. Fast forward to today - I have some time on my hands and have decided I NEED to finally put some effort into it because it’s driving me nuts. There is just so little cohesion right now I don’t even know which direction to take it lol

Everything is on the chopping block right now and can changed except for the peloton, the two desk chairs, and the desks (everything on the desks can change, however).

Tear me to shreds and help guide me to the light because I hate it in here and have no idea what to do with this space.

Furniture Placement dining room table upstairs or downstairs in raised ranch?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

The first pic is upstairs; the second pic is downstairs in our 2-story raised ranch. We just took a wall down downstairs (construction still underway), and I was going to use the larger half of the room for a comfy den area and the other half for our dining room table.

Now, I am debating having the dining room table upstairs instead of the living area we currently have. It has proven hard to make the furniture layout work up there. Initially, I did not want the dining room table up there because we rarely use it and generally eat at the island. But it does make more sense if we ever do have people over for dinner because then you're not carrying food downstairs to a dining table down there.

I inserted a pic of the bare room upstairs (Took this photo from the kitchen, that is the island in the frame). We do have furniture up there (as outlined in the floor plan) currently that we'd move.

Also, the sound travels pretty well in our house so there's no way we could reasonably have a tv going upstairs in the current living area as well as the den area downstairs.

Note: we are having a baby in December. If I decide to move the dining table upstairs, I'd probably use that half of the downstairs room for a desk and a play area.

Please help a pregnant girl out!
