What is r/inspiration to you? Currently this sub is for sharing people/projects doing inspiring things in the world. The majority of posts submitted are typical social media slop 'keep calm, be good!' images, or wannabe inspiration influencers and often cringe. What do you want to see posted here?
You don't see a lot of that as mods remove like 85% of the posts submitted here for being spammy, cringy, or suggesting we all drop to our knees and pray as the solution to everything in our lives.
Should we:
- Keep things the same, tighten posting guidelines, and maybe bring a few more mods in to help keep spam under control
- Allow inspiration-influencers but filter them for the quality of their content.. and what criteria should we use for that?
- Allow all inspiration-influencers to post whatever they want, and let the community decide
I feel this sub is ready for a small, or big change since most posts submitted are currently being deleted (and annoying mods).
What are your thoughts?
Any other suggestions regarding the future of the sub?

The circle of love
Every person we meet affects both of our lives.
A small part of our soul remains within each of us.
Every one of us can therefore change the world by selflessly sharing our innate wisdom and unconditional love to help awaken others.
They then, may do the same with all those they meet in their lives as well, helping to spread the circle of love around the world.

The Three Bones of Life
Everybody needs three bones in their body:
A wishbone so you can dream big and believe in possibilities.
A backbone so you can stand tall and face life's challenges with courage and resilience.
A funny bone so you can laugh, find joy, and enjoy the journey along the way.

Marcus Aurelius Compared a Steady Mind to a Rock Getting Hit by Waves, Not to Calm Water
There's a short passage in Meditations where Marcus Aurelius describes the kind of steadiness he's actually after, and it's not what people usually picture when they imagine staying calm. He pictures a rock standing in rough water, waves slamming into it constantly, and says the rock doesn't stop the waves, it just stands there and the sea eventually quiets down around it. What gets me about this image is that he didn't pick calm water as the metaphor, he picked a rock still getting hit. The waves don't stop coming just because you've gotten steadier, they keep arriving the same as always. What changes is that they stop being able to move you the way they used to. That's a pretty different picture than the usual idea of peace as the absence of difficulty. It's closer to being difficult-proof than difficulty-free, which honestly sounds more achievable and a lot less fragile. It also means you don't need the waves to stop in order to call yourself steady, you just need to still be standing after the last one hit. What's something you're still getting hit by regularly that doesn't throw you the way it used to?

I am learning not to chase everything.
I used to think if something mattered, I had to hold on tight to it.
People.
Plans.
A version of life I thought I was supposed to have.
But after divorce and having to rebuild parts of my life, I’m learning that not everything is meant to be forced.
Some things I can care about and still let breathe.
Some things I can want and still not lose myself trying to make them happen.
I’m trying to stay open without chasing everything.
And when something good does show up, I want to be present enough to actually receive it.

I wrote this poem to inspire people who want to change their lives for the better
A poem I wrote about becoming a better person…
The weight of who you used to be
Does not belong to you today.
Old habits from which you tried to flee
Are slowly starting to give way.
You do not need a sudden spark
To turn your entire life around.
Just one small lantern through the dark,
One forward step on solid ground.
Forgive the years you gave to doubt,
The promises that fell apart.
A quiet life is built without
The shame you carry in your heart.
Show up and do the simple deed,
Stand taller than you did before.
Plant one sincere, deliberate seed,
And leave the old self at the door.
You are worth it.

Easier said than done when emotions run high, but how do you actually remind yourself to "practice the pause" before saying something you'll regret?

Every life is beautiful
Every life is exceptional, beautiful in every way.
It matters not appearance, beliefs, flaws, or any other differences there may be between us.
Embrace each other with unconditional love, rather than judgment, seeing beyond the exterior and façade of another, to their loving flawless essence within.

Your current situation is not your final destination
I know you haven't been okay lately, but it helps to remember that whatever you are going through right now isn't the end of your story—it is just the beginning of a stronger version of you. No storm lasts forever, and every difficult season comes with an expiration date. Hard times are uncomfortable, but they serve as a catalyst for growth, pushing us out of places where we no longer belong.
That is why you have to choose yourself right now. Prioritizing your happiness and taking a firm stand isn't selfish; it is necessary for your survival. When you let other people rule your world, you hand over the keys to your peace of mind. Your life is yours to live, and protecting your inner peace is your highest responsibility.
God gave you this life because He recognized your unique capabilities and strength, knowing you have exactly what it takes to navigate these moments. He trusts you with your journey, so never lose hope. Growth is often invisible while it's happening, and even when you can't see anything changing on the outside, a shift is happening within. Hold fast to the truth that joy is coming in the morning

The physics of optimism: How a growth mindset can genuinely rewrite your emotional wiring
We talk a lot about healing as a destination. A place we finally reach once we’ve unpacked enough boxes, had enough therapy sessions, or buried enough versions of our past selves. But lately, I’ve been thinking that healing is less like an arrival and more like an ongoing architectural project.
One of the most profound realizations I've had is the tangible, almost physical effect that positive, intentional thoughts have on the trajectory of our lives. It isn't just about slap-on-the-wrist toxic positivity or trying to smile through genuine pain. It’s about the quiet, stubborn shift toward a growth mentality. The radical belief that every single experience, even the devastating ones, is raw material rather than a permanent sentence.
We accumulate emotional scarring as we move through life. It’s inevitable. Betrayals, failures, grief, and rejection carve pathways into our minds, teaching us how to flinch, how to guard our ribs, and how to anticipate the next fall. For a long time, it’s easy to believe those scars define the boundaries of who we are allowed to become.
Yet, neuroplasticity tells a fascinating story. Our brains are constantly rewiring based on where we direct our focus. When we actively cultivate positive thoughts and lean into growth, we aren't just lying to ourselves to feel better in the moment. We are literally laying down new tracks. We are teaching our nervous system that safety is possible, that progress is real, and that the future doesn't have to look like a rerun of yesterday's trauma.
The joy of a growth mentality is the sudden, breathtaking realization that you are not a finished product. Every mistake becomes data. Every setback becomes a pivot point. You stop asking, "Why is this happening to me?" and start asking, "What is this teaching me?" That single shift in perspective transforms life from a minefield into a classroom.
I truly believe that we can conquer all emotional scarring and move forward. Not by erasing the past. Scars, after all, prove that we survived. but by refusing to let them dictate the chapters that come next. When you genuinely believe in your capacity to evolve, the heavy gravity of old hurts starts to lose its grip.
You realize you aren't broken; you're becoming. And there is an immense, quiet power in deciding that the best parts of your story haven't been written yet.
