The athlete with Down syndrome, noticing the sadness of his defeated opponent, immediately ran up to him and raised his hand up.

Years ago, drew up a very crude version of this map. During the editing process of my first novel, I reached out to someone to help create a better version of it.
Now, I can hardly believe it! It's just so incredible to look at this in my book and imagine all my characters traversing the lands I've created.
I feel so grateful towards this artist and grateful to myself that I kept writing. If you have a passion, don't give up on it 💚

I love driving and looking at my rear view mirror to see the person behind me singing their heart out. It feels like something that no one should see you like that, but also heart warming, because feel your feelings, feel your feelings in the song and sing it out. That just puts a smile on my face.
I’ve made someone smile but mostly just laugh at me. I was singing along to get low by lil Jon. And I’m a girl, at that time I was possibly younger 21, driving to college in my Honda fit, blasting get low by lil Jon and singing along. I normally don’t listen to that type of music. But it was in a need for speed game, that I played a lot as kid, so that memory triggered me to sing along. And I see this guy driving next to me, laughing his ass off, and he’s looking dead at me. I’m immediately embarrassed. I stopped singing. I drove off fast but he caught up to me. I look over at him and he’s still laughing, looking straight at me while doing so. I’m feeling severely embarrassed, but at least I made his day with that laugh. Right?

Every day I drive past a sign on my otherwise picturesque street for an accounting office. Bless the hearts of those that toil bit the sign was goingnto be a reminder of the more mundane parts of life, and as a true whimsy lover, it seemed hardly fair that I should have to bear it.
So I changed it. Not the 'accounting' sign, just it's meaning. Now whenever I drive past I account for something that brought me joy - hugs I got today, good wishes, lucky events. Now I am delighted to see that sign and account for joy!

Maybe this is what I needed.
I've got some country music playing, I'm sitting here sketching random ideas in Illustrator, and for once I'm not thinking about a million other things.
Just making things because I enjoy making things.
There's something about days like this that reminds me why I became a designer in the first place.
No pressure. No big plans.
Just me, good music, a quiet mind and a lot to be thankful for.

A few days back a small group of kids came to my rented house for Vinayaka Chaviti chanda . As there was no cash with me i asked for a phonepe transaction and they said yes. One of the kids gave his mother's number and I sent it the amount . This happened on the 13th of September . To my surprise yesterday those kids came to my rented house to give prasadam and as I was not present they gave it to my neighbour . Later I received it from the neighbour . I was really elated for this gesture . It was such a sweet surprise for me .. I thought they would forget me but this sweet gesture made me really feel happy ..

Man when you get a good day it is such an amazing feeling. I started off by waking up and pretty much decided to call my local therapy clinic to make an appointment, something that I am normally bad at committing to. Had a very pleasant 8 minute call with the receptionist and I was able to not only schedule an appointment but be told that I could also do a walk-in appointment next week. Considering that I've been trying to get back into therapy lately, this is a huge win for myself because I feel like I'll finally be able to start working towards myself and giving myself grace and all that.
Additionally, I applied to a resort job a couple days ago and the recruiter reached out to me to set up an interview next week! Normally when I apply for a job I'm lucky if I even get an invitation to an interview and even then it takes a bare minimum a week or a few weeks. To hear back within a couple days is pretty exciting. And the best part is that it's a phone interview too so I won't have to stress so much about maintaining an appearance and all that. Since I am homeless, this could be a game changer for me because if I get accepted they have employee housing that I could stay in for the duration of the contract, and that means I could aggressively save my money while working as many hours as I possibly can.
Finally, I was digging through some trash to find something to eat, and I found it mostly uneven sandwich which is nice. Normally I don't really find much but to have this good of a find is awesome. When you're homeless you usually get what you find and hope for the best but today was pretty nice to me which is awesome.
It's not even noon yet and my day is off to an amazing start. And on a Friday too? And the weather is finally getting cooler? I feel like I can't stop winning today.

There is this app called BemyEyes, you basically just volunteer to pick up video calls from strangers to help them with things that are not accessible. I used to be a member till a year ago, and i thought about this again so downloaded it again, and i still see the number of volunteers more than the people who need help.
There was a similar difference back then as well :)
Makes me feel good to know a willingness to assist the community out there!

Hard for even myself to believe that my closest buddy would be someone from the opposite-gender. No, she's not a girlfriend but something BETTER. In fact, I don't want a girlfriend at all. Because I used to have a girlfriend many years ago and did not like the drama. The emotions were too intense and too stressful to control. Â
But with the lady friend I have now, the fact that she's NOT a girlfriend makes the friendship better. Why? Well, because I get a deep feeling of camaraderie that I NEVER got from a girlfriend. From the girlfriend, I got intense emotions withOUT camaraderie. But with the lady friend I currently have, I have the ideal companion, one with deep camaraderie. I was never this happy before.

What's something that an adult did in your life that brought you comfort as a kid? For example, my husband remembers eating cheese and crackers with his grandfather whenever he visited his grandparent's. I loved when someone would make me a cup of hot chocolate before bed as a kid, and now as an adult, I make a cup for myself almost every night.
I want to do those kinds of things for people in my life, namely my kids, and wanted to hear what other people were/are comforted by. I know we'll always have hot chocolate and cheese and crackers in the house, but maybe there some other fun ones we're missing out on. 😊

For me, it can be something ridiculously simple — a good cup of coffee, a song I haven't heard in years, or getting home after a long day and finally relaxing.
Curious what everyone else's little daily joys are. 🙂
