HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Onion smelling vagina GONE

Sooo I have amazing news for all the people who have been searching for solutions to try for their weird smelling AND tasting vaginas.

I have spent years trying to find new things to try to solve my problem, but I’m telling you…nothing worked. I truly tried everything to get rid of the smell, it just got even worse and i had to break up with my partner of 6 years because I was so ashamed. (Ofc there were other reasons too, but this was one of the main ones)

So I always suspected that the onion smell and taste was from my sweat glands and not my actual discharge because the taste came from my labias and not from inside(trust me I checked it everyday I was so desperate). But that didn’t make sense because I’ve never had body odor on my armpits or anywhere else.
But I still tried things that help reduce body odor.
After I tried every supplement and topical thing ever and didn’t see any improvement, I gave up for a while after years of trying to solve it.

I’m going to get to the point, you just need a little backstory before I do.

So 3 years ago I was pretty overweight, I was diagnosed with PCOS of course and insulin resistance. I changed my lifestyle, I lost 29kgs, still feeling like shit, found out i was gluten intolerant.
Started eating gluten free about 2 years ago, my health improved since. But bc of my insulin problems and bc of my hunger management problems my lifestyle change’s main focus was eating high protein meals. I ate whole foods, not the store bought stuff with the added protein.
And even though I lost the weight and my insulin went back to normal, I’m still eating high protein meals, I just got used to it and I love it.

But then 2 months ago I started connecting the dots.
The smell started when I was like 2-3 months into my lifestyle change and high protein meals. I had no odor or taste before that ever.
So I thought I would try to reduce my protein intake a bit to see if that’s the problem and I ate like 7-8 eggs a day in different forms so I thought it was a good idea to start there and cut them out.

Well let me tell u i cut them out and in 2 weeks, the smell and taste COMPLETELY disappeard. Like it’s nowhere to be found.
I also tracked it, and even though I haven’t eaten eggs in like 2 months now, my protein intake is the same, because the loss of volume from the eggs are naturally replaced with meat in my diet.
So the protein intake is not the problem.

THE EGGS ARE THE PROBLEM.

A week ago I was still amazed by this and didn’t believe myself because what an unusual problem to have, I’ve never heard of anyone who got body odor because of eggs.
So I was at my friend’s house and i couldn’t eat anything else for breakfast so she made me 2 eggs.
A few hours later I could smell the onion smell coming back when I went to pee it was so pungent. I had a huge panic attack about it cuz now I was worried I’m stuck with it again.
But then I went home and it disappeared again after 2 days.

So try this for a few weeks. Give those eggs away to someone and give yourself a chance to feel confident again❤️

Rant 🤬 Worried about a bump inside vagina

• Upvotes

I picked "rant" but it's less of an angry rant and more of a "vent." I've already seen a doctor (& have follow ups scheduled) so not necessarily looking for advice, moreso need support. Literally just acknowledgement would be nice: it doesn't feel like something I can share with a lot of people

Heads up, I am a transgender man and use he/him pronouns.

Almost two weeks ago, my boyfriend (21 cis male) and I (21 trans male) were having sex. He was fingering me, and he stopped to inform me: "Hey, babe, I don't want to freak you out, but you have a bump." We've been dating for 3 years and he knows my body pretty well, so I was concerned.

When he touched it, I couldn't feel anything. When I touched it, I also didn't feel anything. The bump is completely painless. It's on my right side (left if you were looking at me) and about knuckle deep. We have sex frequently enough that I know it's new, but couldn't say it wasn't there, say, a week or two before then.

As a trans man, I've had some shitty experiences with doctors, and so I waited to see my primary care doctor who I trusted. Ultimately, she canceled and I got a different doctor at her office, who was super super kind and did everything right.

She did some swabs with a speculum, then did a digit test. Ran blood tests and some urine tests as well.

She said based on her assessment, the bump was too hard to be an infection, and was probably either a sebaceous cyst, or a dermoid cyst. I was referred to imaging for a transvaginal ultrasound, and a gynecologist.

An infection isn't great, but like... I would almost have preferred that because then I at least know what it is and can go home with a treatment plan.

Now I'm left here just... Anxious about what it is. I know a lot of cysts are benign, but I also know some aren't. So that scares me. The lack of any other symptoms doesn't really assure me because I found it so early. But I also know that because I have caught it early, that things will probably be fine. They'll remove it, and it'll probably (hopefully) go away. But I feel like the only appropriate risk of cancer to ever have is 0%. And right now, it's not 0%.

I scheduled my appointment for imaging and the earliest they could get me in (across 10 different centers) is October 27th. I put myself on the wait-list for cancellations, and I'm really hoping for something earlier. I know I waited for this appointment longer than I needed to, I probably could have gone to urgent care (and I should have scheduled it way before I did anyway) but I was really hoping it was something easily identifiable.

I work retail and had to start my shift after that appointment. The first hour, I couldn't think about anything else. After charging my phone a bit, I put on some reddit stories to numb my brain. I know the next week and a half is gonna have to be me distracting myself, and that's fairly easy with work and grad school, and my amazing boyfriend, but like... I don't want to do anything else until I know 100% that it's benign.

Advice Needed Gland Blockage??

I have a lump on my upper inner labia that is sore and painful to the touch. It looks to be filled with a clear liquid. I’ve gotten one before in the same area and it went away in less than a day, but a few months later it returned.

is this a blocked gland and how to I make this problem go away? I have a gyno appointment tmr but I’m worried about it popping, and I’m not gonna lie I’m a bit freaked out.

Is this normal? 👀 Cervicitis from too much passion 😅

• Upvotes

I have cervicitis, my cervix got busted last week very hard 😅 and the pain has been quite bad at times, like cramps, but is slowly getting better.
The main beating up happened last Wednesday with my husband and a dildo, not an insanely large one, I’d say an average sized one tbf, but he was hitting tf outta my cervix yall.
I did to urgent care btw, all negatives for STI and Bacterial infection, it’s just beat tf up and needs rest which I didn’t give because I did in fact put something up there three nights ago and regretted it the next day which prompted my urgent care visit 💀
I have been worried about it though, she brought up potential endometriosis, and I should get imaging but all the places I’ve called don’t have availability until the new year, but it is getting better which makes me feel better. I had never hurt like this before in my life, and I was a young hoe who semi regularly had that thing beat in 💀
There was one express clinic, I called three times and left a vm and they never called back for me to make an appt. I do hope it is just sore and goes back to normal, but I’m scared this can happen again or may become a continuous problem. Some of the pain has radiated up into my left ovary area, I have a diagnosis of PMOS and hx of ovarian cyst ruptures too.

Recurrent BV protocol

• Upvotes

So back story- I had Ureaplasma and did a round of antibiotics and felt better for a while but mild symptoms came back so I did another vaginal panel and found I now have 3 new pathogens (no more ureaplasma thankfully) and NO healthy vaginal flora as I’m assuming it was wiped out by the last round of antibiotics I did last year. So I’m starting another round of antibiotics along with my spouse. I’m also going to be doing hydrogen peroxide washes at the suggestion from my provider. After antibiotics I will take probiotics both orally and a suppository and probiotic rich foods like coconut cult, kimchi, miso, etc (I can’t tolerate yogurt/kefir products) to hopefully build back the flora. Just wondering if there is anything anyone else suggests adding to my protocol to help? My symptoms are thankfully mild but I just feel… off. I appreciate all suggestions!

Is this normal? 👀 Spotting/ovulation bleeding?

• Upvotes

Hi there, I (31F) have very regular periods. Average 28 day cycle, bleed around 5 days. No birth control, just consistent tracking with natural cycles.

This cycle is different…. After day 5 of my period I noticed I was still spotting. Not totally weird sometimes I spot an extra day. Fast forward to now on day 11 I am still lightly spotting. I’ve never had this happen. I have very VERY light cramping/soreness and I was attributing that to possibly ovulation bleeding? Sometimes by the end of my cycle I am a bit sore because I’m a frequent tampon user so I wasn’t totally shocked by that but I’ve never bled/spotted this long before and it’s a very light pink so fresh-ish blood?

There’s no smell and I have one committed partner. I 100% had a full period 11 days ago.

I consulted with some Google and AI to see how common this is and they led me to believe that this is totally normal.

If this continues for another couple days I will schedule an appointment. In the meantime, has anyone else experienced this out of the blue? Is this my new normal? This has never happened to me before.

Is this normal? 👀 Positive for Chlamydia but celibate for 3 years

I am 35F, had a pap last week and the nurse called me today to tell me I was positive for Chlamydia but I literally haven’t had any sexual contact with anyone for three years ….. I spoke with her and she said it could lay dormant, or I could’ve got it from bodily fluids … i am so baffled as to how this could’ve happened. there are a few posts on reddit over the years that say similar things. Regardless, I am going forward with the treatment plan, but this is bananas.

Advice Needed Odd Lump

I (32F) noticed an odd lump about 5 days ago on the inside of my lips, next to the clitoris. I immediately thought oh I have I cyst, and had my partner(30F) look at it to see what she suspected. It was about a 1/4 of a pea size on day one. We both were pretty sure it was a cyst. By day 2, it grew to about the size of a pea, and we were still pretty certain it was just cyst. Day 3, it got a lot harder and grew to about the size of a blueberry and became a little more sore. It was smooth and spherical. Day 4 the shape changed and it became a little more irregular but still smooth. When you look at it it’s white on the surface and not hot to the touch. Today, it remained the same size but it now has a little irritation in the skin, just a little redness, looks more like a sore, but it is still hard under the skin. I wanted to wait until a week has passed to not overreact by going to the doctor right away but it being hard and irregular has me worried, even though it’s not necessarily painful unless prodded. From what I can see it’s not in the right place to be a Bartholin Cyst and I don’t have any STDs. Any thoughts on what this may be or advice if you’ve had something similar?

Thank you in advance!

Help! Super dry vagina due to birth control and Aldara

Hi! This year hasn’t been great for my vaginal health or for my sex life. I started birth control (Mercilon) at the beginning of the year and noticed that my vagina has become so much drier that sex becomes slightly painful. On top of that, I’ve been dealing with genital warts since mid-April until now and was prescribed Aldara. I had some spots slightly inside the vaginal opening and had to apply the cream there, which caused my skin to thin out and become super sensitive. Now even one or two fingers are uncomfortable, and sometimes it even causes a bruise or tear at the opening. I’ve tried to explain this to my gynecologists, but their suggestion to use a hydrating cream hasn’t worked so far, and because of their mishaps in the past, I’m slowly losing my trust in them.

I feel quite defeated and angry, and this has affected my confidence a lot because I feel ugly and disgusting to my boyfriend (he’s been incredibly understanding and supportive, I just can’t shake that feeling).

Has anyone had a similar experience and can share their advice?

Abnormal bleeding opinions?

Hi there i came to seek some advice. For starters I have PMOS so abnormal cycles is just something that sort of happens however something even more strange and abnormal that has never happened to me before is occurring.

I have not had a period since May and have confirmed I am not pregnant. However I am not unfamiliar with missed periods since I have pmos. Back in September I started spotting and having some light cramping, I thought nothing of it other than "Oh my period is coming back this month," the spotting lasted for a day and only happened when I'd wipe. A few days went by and my husband and I have sex, the spotting returned shortly after we finished. I thought again maybe my period was coming. However this off and on spotting has been going on for a month now with light cramping off to the right side of my pelvis. I went to the doctor and they did a pelvic exam and said they didn't feel anything abnormal but would schedule me an ultrasound to double check. Its been over a week, ultrasound is tomorrow. I've had more off and on spotting sometimes heavier. An increase in discharge and light cramping with the occasional sharp pain in my right side.

Any ideas on what might be happening?

Advice Needed Confused and lost with symptoms

Hi guys! Hope everyone is having a great day :) 31F - I started developing issues with my vagina last year in September. From antibiotic use I was usually on them 2-3 times a month due to lung issues & Utis

I had candida galbarta, for over 3 months got treated with micafungin. And then it went away for seven months. I still had severe inflammation anyway. I went to PT for seven months as well. I also go to a chiropractor three times a week. To help with hip flexors. As I have a hypertonic pelvic floor.

Fast-forward everything started feeling normal for once maybe for about a month. Then all of a sudden I got BV. Got treated for it. Then I got it again was treated for it. Then in July my candida came back. Then went away in August.

Then I found out in September that I had ureplasma. They tested me last year for it and it was negative, so I’m unsure how long I’ve even had it for.

But I’m still dealing with severe inflammation most of this year. I got treated for the ureplasma. My symptoms were pretty much 75% gone and then the last couple days my symptoms feel like it’s back to how it was in the first place.

I’m just really super frustrated. I even got my hormones checked because I wanted to make sure that I don’t know if my hormones can affect it. All my hormones came back normal.

I went back to ID. The real issue is is it’s inflamed where I have to pee and I can’t stand it. I can’t even wear normal clothes and it’s hard for me to even sit down. I can’t have intercourse. I haven’t even been able to do anything with my husband for a year and it really sucks.

I guess when I’m trying to ask is I don’t know what it could possibly be. I don’t know if it’s because I was also on nystatin suppositories for a very long time. And I was also taking them consecutively because I had candida in July and then in Sept again when I was on antibiotics for ureplasma.

And then ID pretty much told me that I should pretty much stop all of my medication’s and all of my probiotics because she’s thinking that something is causing this. And telling me that most of the symptoms I have currently right now probably have nothing to do with the infections. Because I was already treated.

So if it has nothing to do with the infections then I’m just wondering what should I do??

I asked if there was any way to test my micro biome just to see if there’s just something in there that we’re just not seeing. I told her I wanted to take an envy test. And then she told me. “ most of those tests are bullshit because they just want money from you and you have to pay extra for all this other stuff” I still wanna get it done anyway to see cause. I’m just genuinely curious and I feel like if it doesn’t hurt to try. I’m pretty much desperate at this point.

Anyway, sorry for this long post. I just want my vagina to be normal lol. But I will stop taking my suppositories and see if it actually makes a difference.

I’m also on diazepam suppositories as well from having the hypertonic pelvic floor. I still do my stretches at home as well. Even after not being in PT anymore. I also got my thyroid checked, and that was normal. I got my ferritin results and it was 35 and it was in the normal range

So she’s making a pharmacist call me today to discuss what probiotics I’m on

These are the ones I’m on
The bottle with the sun on it 50 million
The femdolphis one at 10 million
Happy V prebiotic probiotic 50? Million- I usually will rotate these.
D mannnose twice a day

Azo pill ( my urologist said that it was OK to take it daily if I was having inflammation)
Azo pill urinary defensive with the NSAID in it. So I can somewhat pee throughout the day ( I only take this twice per week)

I hate the feeling of my own finger in my coochie?

I’m 20 and I’m new to masturbating. I’m not a virgin and I love when guys finger me but when I try it myself I hate it. I have a long distance boyfriend so we have phone sex and he got me into masturbating for the first time. I only masturbate my clit and only over my underwear. The feeling of wet slimy and just the vagina icks me out but stimulating my clit feels the best. He recently asked me to insert a finger and I tried and I immediately didn’t like it just the feeling of the inside of my vagina icked me out so bad I told him no I can’t do it and i feel bad bc he didn’t get that pleasure of me pleasuring myself but I couldn’t do it. Like am I the only one? Maybe im just not comfortable with my body yet but idk I don’t like the feeling at all it’s like an alien. Help me out. Also I don’t even know if I had an orgasm before. I’ve had all the sensations like the immense pleasure feeling, sweating, hips bucking, legs shaking, feeling the need to pee, but I never got that sneeze feeling most girls say they have when they orgasm…

Symptoms 👩🏻‍⚕️ Years of fishy vaginal odor and burning, now with dryness and bladder symptoms with 5 OB/GYNs and still no answers

I’m 18, and I’ve been dealing with unexplained vaginal symptoms since around 2017. I’m honestly exhausted and discouraged after seeing five OB/GYN providers without getting answers.
How my symptoms have developed over the years:
2017: It started with a persistent fishy vaginal odor and burning after urination. The odor used to be constant and strong enough that other people could sometimes smell it when sitting or standing near me. Sometimes, when I sat down, there would be a noticeable fishy odor in the air, and I could smell it lingering in the bathroom.
After 2020: I started experiencing vaginal dryness and very little natural lubrication (this wasn’t an issue when the symptoms first began).
2024: I started having difficulty fully emptying my bladder, and sometimes I feel like I have to strain.

My symptoms:
● Intermittent fishy vaginal odor.
● Vaginal dryness and very little natural lubrication even with arousal.
● Pain with insertion and during Q-tip testing.
● Frequent & Burning after urination/Cervical pain
● Difficulty fully emptying my bladder.

Over time, new symptoms have developed, and I’m worried because this has been going on for years.

Treatments I’ve tried:
Monistat (Tried 7 years ago, was hard to insert.)
Fluconazole for yeast symptoms.
Flagyl (metronidazole) for two separate 7-day courses.
These treatments cleared up the yeast symptoms I was experiencing at the time, but they did not resolve my baseline symptoms that I’ve had since the beginning, particularly the fishy odor and burning after urination.

I’ve now seen five OB/GYN providers. My examinations and infection tests have reportedly been normal. At my most recent appointment, the provider collected another vaginal swab to test for BV and yeast and took a urine sample. She recommended boric acid suppositories for odor control and gave me a brochure for an oral supplement.
I have never been sexually active.
I’m not looking for anyone to diagnose me online. I’m hoping to hear from people who have experienced something similar, especially anyone whose tests repeatedly came back negative or whose symptoms gradually changed over time.
Did you eventually find out what was causing your symptoms?
What type of specialist helped you?
Were there specific tests or evaluations that made a difference?
I’m planning to continue seeking medical care, but after so many appointments without answers, I feel really discouraged. I’d appreciate hearing about others’ experiences, especially if you eventually found a provider who took your concerns seriously.

Advice Needed I have deep issues with sexual desire and self pleasure. I could use some kind words

Just have lot of religious shame and sexuality issues :(

I’m 31 and do not have a healthy relationship with my desire.
Whenever I masturbate I feel so immensely disgusting. I already do it rarely. In my teens it was a habit then I stopped for years (8+). Then it came back gradual but I try to not do it to much only once a month or so.. sometimes more

I have resorted to sometimes hurting myself (in small ways like digging nails into my palm) to feel okay and “clean” again. Then I feel guilty about doing that because that’s also not allowed

I have constant ocd spirals about it and cannot get it together

A therapist might help but that feels so embarassing and unbearable right now

I don’t even have toxic relationship with religion. With everything else I’m able to be normal and moderate. It’s just this one thing that is tied into so much fear and shame. Probably something to do with my childhood

I would just like some kind words or advice (other than therapy) that could help

Advice Needed Pushing sensation in my vagina when I poop?

So around May of last year I was constipated for 2 weeks. I ended up in the hospital and got an enima. It felt like everything ib my got pushed out. But it also felt heavy in my vagina like my vagina pushed/dropped, as the impacted poop came out when I got the enima.

It's been a year already since that incident. I noticed a sort of slack in my vagina in the back near my anus. Like there was extra loose skin that wasn't there before inside me. This was shortly after my enima and the dropping sensation.

Ever since I've had pain pooping and it feels heavy like my butt or vagina will fall out. And it scares me. I noticed recently when I poop it feels like my front of my vagina inside is pushing too. I don't feel anything coming out but it's like my vagina is pushing ever so slightly. I'm only 27 and never gave birth before and have never had a prolapse that I know of. And I've never been pregnant. I'm not sure if it's something I should go to the emergency room for or not. I don't have medical insurance and have never been to a gynecologist before. What's going on with me? Is this something I shod be worried about? This vaginal pushing sensation while I poop only started late last month.

Is this normal? 👀 Thin discharge..

Hi everyone,
I've recently noticed that my discharge has become noticeably thin, sometimes it’s yellow-ish. And the smell is like normal discharge smell but stronger, and I'm a bit worried about what might be causing it or if it could be a sign of an STI/ STD.
I don’t experience any other symptoms like burning, itching or pain.
Usually the smell is much more noticeable after my period, and i haven’t had sex in 6-7 months..
Has anyone experienced something similar?
