HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Onion smelling vagina GONE

Sooo I have amazing news for all the people who have been searching for solutions to try for their weird smelling AND tasting vaginas.

I have spent years trying to find new things to try to solve my problem, but I’m telling you…nothing worked. I truly tried everything to get rid of the smell, it just got even worse and i had to break up with my partner of 6 years because I was so ashamed. (Ofc there were other reasons too, but this was one of the main ones)

So I always suspected that the onion smell and taste was from my sweat glands and not my actual discharge because the taste came from my labias and not from inside(trust me I checked it everyday I was so desperate). But that didn’t make sense because I’ve never had body odor on my armpits or anywhere else.
But I still tried things that help reduce body odor.
After I tried every supplement and topical thing ever and didn’t see any improvement, I gave up for a while after years of trying to solve it.

I’m going to get to the point, you just need a little backstory before I do.

So 3 years ago I was pretty overweight, I was diagnosed with PCOS of course and insulin resistance. I changed my lifestyle, I lost 29kgs, still feeling like shit, found out i was gluten intolerant.
Started eating gluten free about 2 years ago, my health improved since. But bc of my insulin problems and bc of my hunger management problems my lifestyle change’s main focus was eating high protein meals. I ate whole foods, not the store bought stuff with the added protein.
And even though I lost the weight and my insulin went back to normal, I’m still eating high protein meals, I just got used to it and I love it.

But then 2 months ago I started connecting the dots.
The smell started when I was like 2-3 months into my lifestyle change and high protein meals. I had no odor or taste before that ever.
So I thought I would try to reduce my protein intake a bit to see if that’s the problem and I ate like 7-8 eggs a day in different forms so I thought it was a good idea to start there and cut them out.

Well let me tell u i cut them out and in 2 weeks, the smell and taste COMPLETELY disappeard. Like it’s nowhere to be found.
I also tracked it, and even though I haven’t eaten eggs in like 2 months now, my protein intake is the same, because the loss of volume from the eggs are naturally replaced with meat in my diet.
So the protein intake is not the problem.

THE EGGS ARE THE PROBLEM.

A week ago I was still amazed by this and didn’t believe myself because what an unusual problem to have, I’ve never heard of anyone who got body odor because of eggs.
So I was at my friend’s house and i couldn’t eat anything else for breakfast so she made me 2 eggs.
A few hours later I could smell the onion smell coming back when I went to pee it was so pungent. I had a huge panic attack about it cuz now I was worried I’m stuck with it again.
But then I went home and it disappeared again after 2 days.

So try this for a few weeks. Give those eggs away to someone and give yourself a chance to feel confident again❤️

Lifelong disconnection from clitoris

• Upvotes

I’d love some advice on how to learn how to orgasm with just my hand/during sex and to not be so queasy when touching myself directly or looking at pictures of vulvas. I am a 27-year-old woman.

Here’s some background. I began masturbating with a vibrator when I was around 8 years old (questionable parenting choices bordering on child abuse/neglect). I grew up in the South around a lot of conflicting and shame-based messages around sex. Still, I persisted. My first sexual experience (at 15) was very painful, and I had a lot of trouble using tampons at first.

I would become extremely queasy when thinking about putting a tampon in or touching my vulva directly. I believe the queasiness is mostly due to fears around harming my vulva (scratching it, getting it dirty, etc). I also have a fear of pain associated with my vulva/private parts because I used to get frequent UTIs and also had interstitial cystitis for many years. I still get queasy when looking at pictures of vulvas. I got very queasy looking up the clitoral adhesions that everyone on this sub seems to be talking about.

I’ve had a lot of sexual partners but never an orgasm, and I’ve had issues ranging from vaginismus to extreme dryness. I was extremely estrogen deficient for many years, and it’s only within this last year that it’s been resolved through a patch and I’ve definitely noticed a difference.

I can only orgasm with a vibrator. I’ve had some very attentive partners over the years and no one has been able to help me with this, and honestly I feel so much shame and frustration over it that I don’t really enjoy when men try. I just find myself spacing out during these experiences because the sensation is either not enough (usually just gentle rubbing) to bordering on painful (direct stimulation). I try to masturbate with myself with my hand, and sometimes it feels good if I do it indirectly, but it just doesn’t go anywhere. Having my hair played with feels 100x more stimulating.

I have read so much, I have consulted therapists, and I still feel like it’s a lost cause. I want to have an orgasm during sex and feel like my sexuality is more flexible than simply always going back to the vibrator. I’m deeply in love with my partner and want to have this experience with him.

If this sounds like clitoral adhesions then I’d be happy to consult a gyno, but I’m skeptical simply because it’s been lifelong and I’ve been able to see my clitoris and separate it from the folds.

TL;DR lifelong oversensitivity to clitoral stimulation, queasy feeling at discussions of vaginal/vulva health, and inability to orgasm without a vibrator.

Question Lube

So I’m kinda new to this lube idea. But I’ve been wanting to get one for a while to make sex a little more pleasurable. What is the best one? I want one that’s gonna like stay wet for a while and not dry out super fast. I don’t really have sensitive skin either

White skin around opening of vagina and tears?

I had rough sex a day ago, and when I checked my vulva, I noticed white skin near the opening of my vagina, mostly on my left side, inside the lips, and around the tears I got from sex. Is something wrong? (It is a little itchy and sore)

Help - I’ve stopped being able to finish during sex!

Hi everyone, sorry SUCH a long post, but I’d love some advice here. Over the last couple of months I’ve increasingly found it harder to finish during sex and recently haven’t been able to finish at all. I think this is clearly partly mental but the longer it goes on, the more it reinforces in my brain and becomes even harder.

Before I talk about sex with my parter, I should say I’m also struggling to finish by myself (tho, I haven’t tried that often). But before this, I’ve always been able to finish (especially with a vibrator) but not sure if I often FINISH if that makes sense. Like I always get that climax feeling/pressure but often it feels too intense to keep it going and I’m often left wondering whether that was a full orgasm, or if there’s another level that I didn’t unlock.

In terms of sex with my partner, we’ve been together for over 3 years, live together, we completely love each other and I’m happy with him and our sex life (except this issue). We typically have sex 3-5 a week (give or take). I used to finish most of the time (75%+) - but similar to finishing with myself, sometimes my orgasms we’re ‘small’ and I wondered if there was another ‘level’ to it. But honestly I often found the orgasms better with him than I could do by myself.

He is usually generous and really wants me to enjoy myself. He sometimes can be a bit lazy with foreplay, though not often, and I usually actually find it easier to finish through penetration than when he goes down or fingers me. Sometimes his technique for fingering/going down is great, but sometimes it really doesn’t work/he’s in the wrong spot but the issue is 1) when he’s in the right spot then I can’t help but squirm and move too much that he loses it and/or 2) I feel like every time I finish it’s from a slightly different angle or position or rhythm (including with penetration) so it’s really hard for both of us to know what’s going to work from one time to the next. And I think personally the inconsistency in what will make me finish makes me super frustrated in the moment which of course kinda ruins my chances of getting there.

As I said recently I just haven’t been able to finish at all. I frequently ‘almost’ get there, but it’s not even the ‘small’ orgasms anymore it’s pretty much just edging at best. Neither of us can think of anything that’s obviously changed. The only thing I can think of is we’ve both had a super busy few months with lots of work stress and not enough sleep etc. We usually have sex right before we sleep and when it’s already past our bedtime so we’re already tired and I’m then stressing that I’m going to not have enough sleep before work etc. I did say we should try to make an effort to do it earlier/not right before bed but it’s hard to actually do it ‘organically’ without ‘scheduling’ it when we’re also trying to do dinner/gym/chores etc.

Not sure if it’s relevant but the only other thing I can think of is I got an IUD several months ago. My problem started more recently but not sure if the hormones are doing something. Also with the IUD, he sometimes finishes quicker without the condoms before I can finish, but most of the time he still lasting long enough that I should finish. To compound this, the more I’m visibly/audibly I enjoying myself, the more likely he is to finish quicker bc he finds it hot, so when I start getting close in the back of my mind, I feel like there’s a countdown. Though with condoms if I hadn’t finished before he did, he would usually go back to foreplay until I did, but now (sorry for TMI) after he finishes in me, he’s not getting going back down/fingering with him cum everywhere lol (and I can’t really blame the man for that one lol).

Only other thing that maybe contributing is I have adhd - I’m medicated and have been our entire relationship but I think it’s making it harder to stop my mind wandering and focus on finishing (especially at night when meds have worn off). Obviously not a new thing but not sure if it’s randomly worse in this area recently.

Sorry for SUCH a long post. Was hoping extra context would be useful but I would really appreciate any advice you have and help a gal out of this orgasm-rut!!! Thank you!!

Always had painful sex

• Upvotes

I’m a 25F that’s been with my partner 27M for over five years. I’ve been going to the doctors and gynos since I was 11, because my periods have always been heavy, irregular and extremely painful. I’m on the depo injection and have been for around 2.5 years which has finally stopped my bleeding after trying pretty much every contraceptive pill. Every time I get my injection I tell the doctors that for me sex is always painful, especially the beginning when penetration has just happened I experience a stinging and burning pain which is very intense. Some positions can be very painful also and I sometimes when it’s really bad find myself hoping my partner will finish quickly as it hurts me. I’ve been told I have a tilted cervix and I seem to get thrush regularly. But the only symptoms for thrush I have are painful sex and burning when urinating. We both did STI tests when we got together 5 years ago and have always been clean. I don’t understand why it’s still so painful and when I tell doctors they do nothing about it? Am I just unlucky and this is how sex will always be for me? I also have problems with my bladder I used to have constant UTIs and now take medication to improve my bladder and I leak urine a lot and frequently urinate. Hope someone can give me some answers!! I’m so sick of telling medical professionals the same story and getting no answers! And I’ve never been diagnosed with my periods I’ve been looking for answers for over 10 years now!!

Advice Needed Monistat 7 day

• Upvotes

Hi everyone I had an internal and external yeast infection and I took monistat 7 and cleared up all the bumps externally and reduced the discharge I was having.

It’s been about a week since I completed treatment and I seem to have some swelling and odor coming back.

I have an appointment at the clinic set for two weeks from now but in the meantime is there any harm in taking another monistat 7 day (miconazole 2%) treatment again?

Edit: This was my first yeast infection I delayed taking monistat for weeks because I wanted to listen to the box and go to the doctor first. When I went she happened to see me on a day things weren’t as bad so she said my discharge was normal and I just had dry skin. Over the next few days my symptoms just became unbearable so I took monistat and things improved greatly, and now I’m so close to being back to normal but I’m not fully there so I’m thinking another round of monistat might be best.

Rant 🤬 Worried about a bump inside vagina

I picked "rant" but it's less of an angry rant and more of a "vent." I've already seen a doctor (& have follow ups scheduled) so not necessarily looking for advice, moreso need support. Literally just acknowledgement would be nice: it doesn't feel like something I can share with a lot of people

Heads up, I am a transgender man and use he/him pronouns.

Almost two weeks ago, my boyfriend (21 cis male) and I (21 trans male) were having sex. He was fingering me, and he stopped to inform me: "Hey, babe, I don't want to freak you out, but you have a bump." We've been dating for 3 years and he knows my body pretty well, so I was concerned.

When he touched it, I couldn't feel anything. When I touched it, I also didn't feel anything. The bump is completely painless. It's on my right side (left if you were looking at me) and about knuckle deep. We have sex frequently enough that I know it's new, but couldn't say it wasn't there, say, a week or two before then.

As a trans man, I've had some shitty experiences with doctors, and so I waited to see my primary care doctor who I trusted. Ultimately, she canceled and I got a different doctor at her office, who was super super kind and did everything right.

She did some swabs with a speculum, then did a digit test. Ran blood tests and some urine tests as well.

She said based on her assessment, the bump was too hard to be an infection, and was probably either a sebaceous cyst, or a dermoid cyst. I was referred to imaging for a transvaginal ultrasound, and a gynecologist.

An infection isn't great, but like... I would almost have preferred that because then I at least know what it is and can go home with a treatment plan.

Now I'm left here just... Anxious about what it is. I know a lot of cysts are benign, but I also know some aren't. So that scares me. The lack of any other symptoms doesn't really assure me because I found it so early. But I also know that because I have caught it early, that things will probably be fine. They'll remove it, and it'll probably (hopefully) go away. But I feel like the only appropriate risk of cancer to ever have is 0%. And right now, it's not 0%.

I scheduled my appointment for imaging and the earliest they could get me in (across 10 different centers) is October 27th. I put myself on the wait-list for cancellations, and I'm really hoping for something earlier. I know I waited for this appointment longer than I needed to, I probably could have gone to urgent care (and I should have scheduled it way before I did anyway) but I was really hoping it was something easily identifiable.

I work retail and had to start my shift after that appointment. The first hour, I couldn't think about anything else. After charging my phone a bit, I put on some reddit stories to numb my brain. I know the next week and a half is gonna have to be me distracting myself, and that's fairly easy with work and grad school, and my amazing boyfriend, but like... I don't want to do anything else until I know 100% that it's benign.

Advice Needed I have never had a orgasm from anything else other than squeezing my thighs together, looking for advice.

• Upvotes

Hi there, I am 19F and I don't know why but I am unable to achieve orgasm through clitoral or direct general vaginal stimulation. Even if I am really aroused, it honestly just feels like im rubbing skin, or if it does feel good.. not nearly good enough to have an orgasm. I can only achieve orgasms by squeezing my thighs together for a certain amount of time. It makes me feel really sad. I have never penetrated myself before nor have I ever been penetrated by even a tampon so I am really unexperienced there. What can I do? I am currently on Prozac which I know makes it worse but even before Prozac this has been a lifelong issue.

Treatments 💊 never had BV before this year, now i’ve tested positive 3 times since april. asymptomatic BV.

hi everyone! 🤍 i’m hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar because i’m honestly feeling pretty overwhelmed and frustrated with my situation.
before april of this year, i had never had bacterial vaginosis (BV) before. i went to my gynecologist for a routine appointment in april and unexpectedly tested positive for BV, despite having absolutely no symptoms. no unusual discharge, no odor, no itching, no discomfort, nothing. i was prescribed metronidazole vaginal gel (Metrogel) for five days and completed the treatment exactly as directed.

when i followed up with my gynecologist, i tested positive for BV again. i was still completely asymptomatic, so i never would have known the infection was present without testing. this time, my gynecologist switched me to a vaginal antibiotic cream for five days. after completing that treatment, everything seemed to clear up, and i went several months without another positive test.

fast forward to october, and i’ve now tested positive for BV for the third time since april. once again, i have absolutely no symptoms. it’s so strange to me because i had never experienced BV before this year, and now i’ve had three positive tests in approximately six months, all without experiencing any of the typical symptoms.

because it’s become recurrent, my gynecologist has now prescribed a much longer treatment and prevention regimen:
metrogel: once nightly for 10 consecutive days.
four-day break: no vaginal treatments.
boric acid suppositories: twice weekly for one month, beginning after the four-day break.
metrogel maintenance: once weekly for three months, beginning after the four-day break, on separate nights from the boric acid.
oral probiotic: clairvee by bonafide, to help support my vaginal microbiome.
follow-up: another appointment in three months to see whether the treatment has been successful.

i completely understand that the goal is to prevent BV from continuing to return, but i’m feeling pretty discouraged by how extensive the treatment has become, especially considering i’ve never actually experienced symptoms.
i’m also confused about why this suddenly started happening when i had never had BV before april. i haven’t noticed any changes in my hygiene habits, and i’ve always been very conscious of my vaginal health.

i’m curious whether anyone else has experienced recurrent BV that is completely asymptomatic, especially after never having BV previously.

has anyone completed a similar suppressive treatment regimen with metrogel and boric acid? did it help prevent future recurrences, even after stopping the maintenance treatment?

i’d also love to hear from anyone who has experienced repeated positive BV tests without symptoms. i’m starting to wonder how common this is and whether other people have been prescribed such extensive treatment despite being asymptomatic.

i’m just feeling really overwhelmed by the whole situation and would appreciate hearing about anyone else’s experiences. thank you!!

Advice Needed I have deep issues with sexual desire and self pleasure. I could use some kind words

Just have lot of religious shame and sexuality issues :(

I’m 31 and do not have a healthy relationship with my desire.
Whenever I masturbate I feel so immensely disgusting. I already do it rarely. In my teens it was a habit then I stopped for years (8+). Then it came back gradual but I try to not do it to much only once a month or so.. sometimes more

I have resorted to sometimes hurting myself (in small ways like digging nails into my palm) to feel okay and “clean” again. Then I feel guilty about doing that because that’s also not allowed

I have constant ocd spirals about it and cannot get it together

A therapist might help but that feels so embarassing and unbearable right now

I don’t even have toxic relationship with religion. With everything else I’m able to be normal and moderate. It’s just this one thing that is tied into so much fear and shame. Probably something to do with my childhood

I would just like some kind words or advice (other than therapy) that could help

I always feel so disgusting down there.

I shower every morning. After a few h i feel disgusting again.

My anatomy makes it so the pee goes EVERYWHERE. Every little crevice. To my thighs. Never seem to get it off completely when wiping.

I have autism and sensory issues and i hate showers so much.

I don't wanna have to shower everytime after using the toilet just to feel clean.

Do you have any miracle tips? I'm desperate.

Is this normal? 👀 Wedgies (front and back) at movie theatres

Idk if this is the place to ask but I’m so curious. Does anyone else get wedgies when they go to the movie theaters? It’s like I sit down and my underwear is going up my entire crack! Maybe I need better fitting underwear lol

Question what do you guys actually look for in a small wand? NSFW

hi ladies! i've been browsing a few smaller wands and realized i have no idea what i should actually be comparing.

i'm leaning toward something compact since i don't really want a big wand taking up space. i also tend to prefer a steady vibration over a bunch of different patterns, but i'm not sure how much the size affects the actual experience.

for anyone who's used a mini wand, what did you end up caring about most once you actually had one? was it the grip, vibration, noise, controls, battery, or just the overall size?

and if you've owned both a full size wand and a smaller one, did you find yourself reaching for one more than the other?

Advice Needed Yeast infection

I got my first yeast infection after I had a baby, then after 7 months later I tested positive for yeast infection again. I took two fluconazole recently but the itch is still persistent with odor / some discharge. No concerns of STD.

Is this normal? 👀 Spotting/ovulation bleeding?

Hi there, I (31F) have very regular periods. Average 28 day cycle, bleed around 5 days. No birth control, just consistent tracking with natural cycles.

This cycle is different…. After day 5 of my period I noticed I was still spotting. Not totally weird sometimes I spot an extra day. Fast forward to now on day 11 I am still lightly spotting. I’ve never had this happen. I have very VERY light cramping/soreness and I was attributing that to possibly ovulation bleeding? Sometimes by the end of my cycle I am a bit sore because I’m a frequent tampon user so I wasn’t totally shocked by that but I’ve never bled/spotted this long before and it’s a very light pink so fresh-ish blood?

There’s no smell and I have one committed partner. I 100% had a full period 11 days ago.

I consulted with some Google and AI to see how common this is and they led me to believe that this is totally normal.

If this continues for another couple days I will schedule an appointment. In the meantime, has anyone else experienced this out of the blue? Is this my new normal? This has never happened to me before.

Advice Needed Boric acid & Flagl — inside me hurts

I had 6 days of boric acid followed by 7 days of oral Flagl. It wasn’t until the 3rd or 4th day in of oral Flagl that the inside of my vagina became irritated. It feels like it’s pulsating and that something is inside there. I’m also spotting from a Provera bleed.

I went to the gyno this week while I was spotting and they said everything looks normal inside. I also had a normal UTI culture. I also had one yeast pill two days before my last Flagl pill.

I’m starting to feel crazy that my gyno said everything looks normal and my UTI culture is normal. Has anyone experienced this?? My last pill was on Monday and I haven’t gotten any better.

My gyno did a retest and my nugent score is 4-6 still, but I really don’t want to take anything else until this is resolved.

Yeast Infection Treatment Question

I was on amoxicillin last week and unbeknownst to me, very commonly comes with a side effect of yeast infections. Once I realized what was going on a few days ago, I grabbed a 3 day treatment of Miconazole from CVS. I’ve now completed 2 nights of suppositories and 2 days worth of the am/pm cream.

Today I am still itching and seeing discharge so I decided to go to urgent care where I was prescribed Fluconazole. I was given one tablet to take today and another to take in a week, if needed. I also picked up probiotics to start taking daily.

My question is should I still take the 3rd round of the suppository tonight? The PA that took care of me earlier didn’t give me a straight answer.

Also would aquaphor be a better ointment to use than the Miconazole cream?

Advice Needed Ecoli

Has anyone experienced recurring chronic E. coli bladder and vaginal infections? Paired with pelvic pain. I've been experiencing extreme hypertonicity, pelvic flares, missed periods, chronic low estrogen, painful sex, vanished periods, swollen groin lymphs etc for almost 2 years now since my last C-section and no doctor will do anything besides give me i V stics. 6xs now... and they want to do another round... as if that will help

I just went to my 2nd gyn who claimed she doesn't want to test my hormones because they have nothing to do with pelvic floor & I really don't tell you anything as your hormones fluctuate with your cycle. She also said no to looking for uterine infection. So I would appreciate if anybody has any guidance on what type of specialist I can see that would actually care and help.

Urogyn, pelvic pain specialist, something else? ~ Share

Advice Needed Please help. I’m so stressed out and need to make some last minute decisions.

I understand I cannot get medical advice from this sub but I’m currently losing my mind and need advice. I’m sorry if this is a long read.

My short term memory is bad so I’ll try my best to remember specifics.

About 2 months ago I noticed something felt …off down there. Like a dull swelling or some kind of irritation. That turned into excessive discharge i just don’t remember what kind , and a musty smelling odour. I seem to remember a watery discharge though.

I took an oral diflucan around the beginning of September thinking it was a yeast infection. But that didn’t work so I started on boric acid for 8 days. This was late September. I followed that up with 10 days of the vaginal suppository probiotic Probaclac. The discharge went away as the did smell but the weird underlying sensation has remained though it did mildly improve during that time. Swelling feeling…slight burning around the vulva. Iv now noticed today the odour is back. I also have a feeling of being swollen / heavy in my uterus ? It does not hurt to pee and there’s no change in frequency. My uterus does not hurt when I press on my stomach. I live with my long term boyfriend and have not had much sex because of my various health problems including this. I do not feel “sick” otherwise like feverish or anything like that. I want to add I will admit I didn’t cut out sugar during this time. In fact we spent a few days camping and ate rather poorly so I don’t know if that contributed.

I’m due to get an iron infusion on Wednesday. It will be my first and one that I desperately need because supplements have not raised my ferritin levels and I feel like absolute shit. But I’m sitting here panicking thinking I have PID or something. I’m going to my doctor tomorrow to get swabbed for BV and yeast but I’m worried she’s going to want to put me on antibiotics? I can’t take antibiotics and get the infusion at the same time as my system is highly sensitive already and I would likely have major problems.

Seeing as we’re coming to the weekend I’m not sure what kind of results I’ll get before Wednesday. My boyfriend also travels for work and is gone ALOT and he was going to be the one to take me for my infusion. He took the day off. So …do I take meds if dr suspects PID and push the infusion until god knows when ? Do I hold off and wait for results ? If it comes back BV do I try boric acid again only maybe for longer to avoid antibiotics? (Iv taken the antibiotics years ago for suspected BV and I can barely get through the whole script because it kills me) only this time I’ll cut sugar out.

Should I ask for any other tests when getting swabbed ? Any advice welcome and I’m sorry for the novel :(
