Hey Spartans!

My name is Eddy! I'm a photographer/videographer based in Los Angeles, and I'll be attending Halo Fest!

This will be my 10th convention of the year, but this one is especially meaningful to me. Halo is my favorite gaming franchise of all time, and I've been looking forward to this event!

I regularly photograph cosplayers at conventions, usually meeting people and organizing spontaneous shoots throughout the day. But for Halo Fest, I want to do something different.

I want to bring some of Halo's most iconic moments to life through photography and video!

I'm hoping to recreate memorable scenes from the games, capture Spartan multiplayer stances, and create some cinematic portraits that do justice to the incredible armor and the Halo universe.

Since this event means so much to me, I'd love to connect with fellow fans and cosplayers ahead of time so we can plan something special!

Anyone else enjoying the wall run mechanic in halo?

Just picked up mcc on my pc since it’s on sale, I put in a ton of hours on mcc no issue on xbox but on here it’s unplayable since it pops up on my second monitor, never had a game that does this and when I switch it to my main monitor it’s extremely stretched for some reason.

Was checking out to see where the grav hammer dropped. Thought the player standing next to me was my team mate looking for loot. Then I saw the mini map showed a red dot next to me. And so....I started blasting.

Due to project reclaimer coming out with a higher player count and better forge budget, me and many other forgers have made maps to have fun on for everyone to see what halo could battle like at crazy places... and yes the tall buildings on Mombasa are destroyable as you see in the image.

Want the maps? If you want to host your on server with the same maps, on project reclaimer forge website you can download the ultimate map pack by WL Lowspot which has all the files set up already.​

How to install? If you want to install halo 3 project reclaimer you just need Halo 3 mutiplayer and campaign from MCC on steam which is on sale for 10$ USD as of this post (or 2$ for just halo 3 I believe)

If by chance the server is empty, I usually host after work to fill it up if you dont wish to host and gather players yourselves!

Safe? If anyone is concerned about moderation, the server has much in place.

You need to have a custom name, 1 hour of playtime on the server and a valid connection to be able to call vote kicks, that way they arent abused by anyone easily.

The server blocks VPNS and has a ping limit to prevent laggy players

The server once fulls, self duplicates so if more people want to play another server is made. We can at 64 players per server for balance.

We only permeantly ban hackers and those bans will ban them from all 45 [IBIGS] servers, any hacker we ban we collect info and send it directly to the reclaimer dev about the hacked client as we usually collect data before the ban.

Otherwise if someone is being just nasty with team killing, either mute them or do a vote kick​. You can trash talk we dont care but we tend to kick people who are actually serious like those who talk about children weirdly, aka dont touch children. Otherwise lets have fun on these maps :)

Shouldn’t the Covenant have been the main focus of the first game in order to really establish them to the player before introducing a new enemy? The Covenant don’t really do much but shoot at you before you get to the Flood.

Also, I say I’m a ‘newer’ player cause I haven’t really played any mainline Halo games before Campaign Evolved. I just played this one mobile one called Fireteam or something and I played Infinite but never bought the campaign and only played for the multiplayer since that was free.

I'd also need to keep the controller usable for other stuff on the PC at the same time I'm playing the game. This is an accessibility issue for me, I really hope there's a solution out there. Thanks.

I'm doing chapter 2 of the Halo Ghosts of Onyx illustration project, and I'm looking to add voices to a few important characters!

Need to give John, Linda and Kurt a voice!

Kurt will be a recurring role for the remainder of the book.

AIEEEEEEEEE WAAAAAAAHH

If it is a remake of the very first game then don’t you guys think the flood were introduced a bit….early? Im only two hours into the campaign and the flood are already introduced. Eveyone is screaming “they’re not covenant! they’re something else!” but the covenant havent really had much time to be established to the player as a major threat yet imo. If this isnt the first game remade then never mind about it being too early for the flood but if it is the first game then whyd they introduce the flood so early? Wouldnt it make more sense to build up the covenant for at least most of the first game, then have the flood appear as an even bigger threat at the end or in the second game?

I was just checking steam the other day and saw midweek deals and the whole halo collection is 9.99€ GODDAMN. Pretty good deal for five games i think, the only thing is if ill enjoys the games, so thats why im here. I know its a shooter but whats the other genres? Is it also story, open world, missions and the other stuff you get the gist. For refference if it helps my favourite games are the half life games. Any help or feedback is highly appreciated, excluding spoilers ofc.

I used to be able to get a consistent 240fps in all games even in Halo 2 anniversary but for some reason I’m hitting nowhere near that anymore literally overnight and it’s only using 44% of my gpu even with an unlocked frame rate and no V-sync.

Hi, so basically I’ve been thinking about playing Halo for some reason, many people say that it’s an awesome sci-fi experience. Actually I heard about Halo 12-13 years ago, when I was a kid, but i can’t really remember looking for any information about it because I couldn’t speak English at that time, I’m just not from the US and Halo has never been a widely discussed game in my country. Now that I’m old and capable enough to understand lore and all the stuff about the game, I’d like find out whether it is worth it to get into this game. Are there any advices or comments I should keep in mind. Please keep your answers SPOILER FREE, thank you in advance

So I know there is has been a lot of talk about a possible lore reset and what not. I am not here to talk about that. I am here to talk about underrated books in the franchise.

For me personally I think Halo: Envoy is perhaps one of the me most underrated book in the franchise. We get to see Grey Team again which is a plus, but we also see a more personal look at the consequences of the war, the politics between the different ex covenant species and humans, and some really good character arcs.

I also view the Battle Born series as underrated as well. Has a decent story and characters. We also get to see the war from the perspective of civilians. And like Envoy it doesn’t lead into any of the games and not required reading. Granted a good chunk of the books are not required reading.

And I am not sure if it is considered underrated or not but I am going to include Contact Harvest. Getting to see Johnson’s background was awesome.

Curious to hear what other people would consider underrated books or stories in the franchise.

Just got HALO 2. Hope it plays OK on my 360

With AI and game ports from consoles to PC do you think that we will finally be able to play Halo 5 on PC? I don't see we ever getting a official release but this is definitely a real possibility right now and I truly think it's just a matter of time

heya!! im not all that knowledgeable on Halo and this is my first post on this subreddit. i have only ever played multiplayer with a few friends many years ago on Halo 1, but i remember the Needler being my favorite gun because of its design, and that has stuck with me for years even when i didnt think about Halo all too often.

there is this Neopets-like game called Flight Rising, where you collect and create dragons instead. I recently picked up a dragon with some pretty cool colours, and decided to dress him up to look like the Needler! hopefully it looks alright. i called him Blamite, if any of you get that reference, i would be delighted. hopefully this post fits the Halo topic.

Edit: I apologise if some people don't like the dragon, I tried getting it on theme with the weapon but perhaps it didn't work. The art of the dragon itself is from back in 2013, flight rising is a really old game, no ai involved whatsoever. They are very against ai. The drawing is really small to fit the website, since flight rising is purely a website game and not something you can download on steam or some other place. Tiny details become heavily pixelised because of it. I tried getting at least the silhouette right, it's got spikey armour, but I guess it didn't work for the actual Halo community. I'm sorry, I just wanted to share something I love inspired by Halo.

It is my pleasure to inform you all that I’ve finally solved the issue of the Pelican not fitting inside the Paris-class frigate’s hangars.

I politely informed two of the hangar doors that their services were no longer required, leaving only four longer ones, while restructuring the interior and relocating turrets and missile silos to prevent interference with the ship’s internal structure and gain additional interior clearance.

All that’s left now is to work on the exterior and interior hangar doors, as well as the corridors connecting the hangars.

Any suggestions are more than welcome. Cheers, everyone!

Are you cooked if your tank explodes after first rescue of the three or should you continue? Just wondering what people here do. I'm trying to finish the missions solo this time because trophies didn't register (we sometimes didn't finish the mission). I honestly gave up at the rocks.
