Video Art My son’s 3rd birthday walk in Mauritius takes an unexpected turn — Kupu Kupu Barong [Seedance 2.5 short film]

Hi everyone,

I’ve just finished Kupu Kupu Barong, a short film about my little boy exploring the beautiful south of Mauritius with us to celebrate his third birthday. A walk through the forest leads to a rather… unexpected encounter 😉

I used Seedream and GPT Image to create character sheets and visuals and Seedance 2.5 to animate the scenes, then brought everything together through editing, music and sound design.

I wanted it to feel like a coherent film, with believable characters and an emotional journey.

That meant paying attention to continuity between shots, the expressions and gestures of both my son and the unexpected guest, the pacing, and how music and sound carry the story.

I’d love to hear feedback from other filmmakers and viewers here, particularly on:

  • Story and emotion: do you connect with the characters and want to follow their adventure?
  • Visual consistency and realism: are there particular shots or details that pull you out of the story?
  • Editing and pacing: are there moments that feel rushed, drag on, or don’t flow naturally?

Thanks for taking the time to watch!

Question Learning how to make good AI videos for beginners

Hello everyone,
I’ve been trying to make AI videos for a short comedy film for my college project. I tried to look into websites and programs where I could do this without spending a lot of cash and having those huge watermarks. But it mostly recommended sora (which isn’t available anywhere) and heygen, and it’s not really something I am looking for. I need my videos to have a natural, realistic look, where I could generate a funny romcom skit. What programs should I use? How much do they cost?

Any genuine advice would help a lot 🙏

Video Art why i finally left higgsfield after defending it for months

i was the guy telling everyone that higgsfield unlimited was worth it and then i actually read what unlimited means on their own help pages and bro it just has covered models only. web only, so canvas and API use eats credits anyway. Unlimited jobs sit in the standard queue while credit jobs skip ahead of you in priority. Their own blog says unlimited runs one video job at a time.

During the seedance promo in august people were reporting multi-hour waits for a single clip, it got bad enough that wion covered it and then in december users who had just paid for annual plans posted about getting banned within a week, with support giving different explanations to different people.

i moved my work to kling direct plus morphic for the studio side and my output honestly went up.

unlimited with this much fine print is not unlimited.

So I made my own AI chatbot website using AI

I’m legit like really proud of myself, I’m able to actually use code I made to talk to AI programs using a computer’s GPU so you don’t have to pay to use a datacenter!!

The speed at which you can work is actually crazy with this honestly like the future just arrived. Now’s the time to adapt to it

Real food meets Japanese magazine illustration

this style can mix photographic food textures and slightly wonky ink drawings. so fun!

Reusable prompt:

Create one original 9:16 Japanese editorial magazine cover combining realistic food photography with charming, imperfect hand-drawn illustration.
Food: [ingredient]
Illustrated subject: [person, animal, or object]
Interaction: [how the food becomes part of the subject]
Japanese magazine title: [exact text]
Headline and caption: [exact text]
Make the food an integrated part of the drawing, preserving its natural texture, shape, and photographic detail.
Use loose black ink outlines, subtle pencil marks, playful proportions, and occasional embroidered accents. Keep the surrounding illustration simple and expressive.
Feature one oversized subject and one main food element, with generous negative space and an asymmetrical editorial layout. Place the magazine title at the top; keep supporting text minimal.
Warm linen-paper texture, muted earthy colors, matte printing, and a stronger color accent from the food. Handcrafted, whimsical, and carefully composed.

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you look at this character? Majesty, power, mystery, something else? I'm curious about your first impression.”

Question Real People (celebs etc)?

I've been seeing tons of video with people, like real people obviously. I don't understand why every time I tried to generate real people, it gives me back an error. How they do that? Is it that difficult?

Question What would truly convince you that something is AI generated, or that it isn’t?

I mean, there are just so many ways to do it out there, right? You could use AI detectors, or rely on SynthID, or post on a forum like r/IsThisAI and get people’s opinions, or something else. But what ultimately convinces you about AI usage, in a situation where that matters?

For example, you’re browsing Airbnbs, and there are some standout ones that you like but something itches in your brain that the listing photos may be AI generated.
