Tyrion and Varys dynamic was so good in earlier seasons. I like how they both raise good arguments here and both are right

Freefolk Is there any possible way like and arrax could have killed aemond and vhagar while aemond and vhagar were chasing them ..

So i know vhagar is too powerful and is almost impossible to kill . But according to you was there any way like and arrax could have killed aemond and vhagar during this chase scene . You know like making them crash into a mountain and stuff . If like and arrax did somehow kill vhagar what do you think will happen after this ..

So I recently got into the books and thus have been finding communities to contribute to.

I join any sub irrespective of green or black because I just love GRRM's world.

Have definitely had the best discussions and fairness on here.

Was surprised to see this as the most upvoted comment , as well as the replies. Like. . Are we the bad guys? Lol.

Catelyn Stark vs Barbrey Dustin in a fist fight

If Catelyn wins Jon is never born and none of her kids die

If Barbrey wins Brandon never dies and doesn’t marry Catelyn so she becomes lady of Winterfell (also she gets to watch Ned’s beheading)

Obviously to the death since neither of them are giving up

Freefolk Why is hotd dearon hair colour hated

So i actually liked the fake dearon twist . But it is sad that dearon hair colour is getting hate for not being book accurate and decide to be delusional that dearon is bleaching his Targaryen hair . But i just like the fact that dearon hair is different than his siblings aegon , aemond and helana . Also it makes sense logically that at least one of alicent kids inherited her hair colour ..

Freefolk Why did showrunners kill off rehagal

Post image
24 Upvotes

So rehagal was supposed to be jon dragon. Killing off viserion to give the night king a dragon made sense but rehagal death was clearly written to push on dany mad queen arc . It would have been better if rehagal lived and after jon killed dany . Drogon tries to burn jon but rehagal defends jon and fights drogon who either kills rehagal or just decides to take dany body and fly away . I think this would be a proper ending for rehagal instead of just killing her off so that greyjoy could aura farm .. sad fact for fans . Both viserion and rehagal are still alive in the books

Which character do you think is most in need of an Uncle Iroh in their life?

A wise and kind fatherly figure to gently guide them onto the right path. My pick would be Jaime.

Freefolk Which generation here do you find a bit mysterious

So i do find it a bit strange that Jaehaerys had 13 children.but sadly A ton of them died off . And towards the end of his life Jaehaerys was only able to put his grandchildren on vote consideration for the iron throne ..

As a GRRM fan , should I pull the trigger?

Post image

Was watching Sanderson interview Abercrombie and Joe spoke about reading George's works in the late 90s inspired him to write his own grimdark universe.

Personally , most YouTubers are telling me Memory , Sorrow and Thorn will scratch the itch a bit more. But I see Joe's first part of the First Law trilogy is on sale now.

What's your thoughts?

Freefolk how did night king get his clothes

i guess i might have missed the part of the show where this may have been explained . but in the flashback the man is naked when children of forest turn him into night king . but then later on the night king and all his white walkers have clothes or battle armour even weapons and of course the chains . i am confused how they got all of these stuff despite being imprisoned behind the wall for a long time . unless of course crastier was the one who offered the night king all these equpments ..

I feel like this lady would’ve made a great (closer in characterization to book) Rhaenyra back in the day - thoughts? The actress is Helen Mirren.

All the Chickens Cuál es el plan maestro de Petyr Baelish

Post image

Just for fun - What fanon interpretation annoys you the most?

As title says. Essentially, what is a misconception/unsubstantiated idea that you see stated as fact far too often?

I'll start:

  1. The idea that Robb married Jeyne partially/cheifly because he was so disturbed by Cat's treatment of Jon that he broke his betrothal to avoid bringing a bastard to his marriage, and having them be mistreated by his wife.

Not at all implied. Robb genuinely believes that his mother would be "very kind" to Jon before he leaves for the NW. I'm much more partial to the idea that Robb and Jeyne's trist was orchestrated by the Westerlings realising that teenagers gonna teenager, especially when complex grief and comfort is involved. It seems far more likely that Ned's honour and idealism motivated Robb. But ofc, the majority of the fandom will never miss an opportunity to blame Cat for something.

  1. Jaehaerys purposefully gatekept or intentionally and actively minimised the amount of dragons claimed.

Jaehaerys didn't do cradle eggs, that is true, but this does not neccessarily signal that he withheld dragons. If this was his intention, it would be strange to allow Rhaenys' children, who may one day marry outside of the family, to be gifted eggs.

To assess his non dragon-riding children, they were either members of institutions that require you to forfeit family entitlements, dead before the age of majority, expressed no interest before attempting to steal one, intellectually disabled or did not ask. I'd be very interested to know his answer if Viserra wanted to claim one before she went to White Harbour.

Not having murder lizards before 16 could be Jaehaerys' own philosophy, but not one he felt entitled to push onto others.

  1. Rhaenyra specifically and actively disinherited the Stokeworth and Rosby girls.

No one on their behalf petitioned Rhaenyra for them. This was Daemon's idea, and it is not clear whether they were ever consulted. The anecdote is an anecdote of how entrenched Westerosi patriarchy is and that Rhaenyra is not entirely pure in her intentions, but it is often misconstrued as Rhaenyra pulling the ladder up behind her.

r/LostRedditors [Spoiler] How Arya got through

Thumbnail reddit.com

I was looking for an explanation and this response made complete sense to me. I don’t know why it was overlooked and seems to be a few mentions of it.

The build up to this scene is that Melisande is able to cast shadows, shadows can get past the walls and people and guards, the same way they did for killing Renly. Melisande is shown talking to Arya right before this, reminding her “Not today” when they are trapped in a room with the Wights pushing on the door outside. She knows how to get out of there and knows how to get past the Wights through her magic, otherwise the next scene would have been Arya preparing to kill more Wights pushing in the room, but it’s not.

And right before the Night King is about to pull his sword out, we see a scene with one of the white walkers standing in the back, noticing a wind that was blowing forward to where they were looking. And him looking to find the source from his back and exactly the next moment, Arya jumping from the sky, not from the ground. (Edit: actually double checked and the wind scene is in the middle of showing the Night King reaching out for his sword which only makes sense to cut in the scene with the alternative scene that explains Arya landing on his back)

And Arya is perfect for this task because she is the one skillful and capable of managing her landing in the right spot to kill the night king, she’s “quite as a wind”. Melisande told Arya earlier that she would be shutting blue eyes forever.

I think it makes perfect sense but Idk why it hasn’t been mentioned more than this one response I found… or enough for me to find it more easily than the jumping of the tree or wearing white walkers face theories.

Freefolk what was the moment the targaryans failed as actual rulers

there is daemon famous dilogue something like "dragons made us princes" . so the targaryans before dance of dragons beleived that their dragons give them a god level status . this is true to a extent cause aegon took over westros through his dragons . but the fact is targaryans in hotd were too dependent on their dragons . but still they lasted 170 years in power after their dragons went extinct if aerys had not been madman and rhaegar had not been a prophecy obsessed playboy . targs could have remained in power .. so i feel that their dependency on dragons was too much .. i agree daemon is cool as a charecter but i totally disagree with his idiology ..
