I had a bottle of knob creek and a football for scale. I found them eroding out of a bedrock ledge in a creek that runs through my buddy’s property. (SE Oklahoma)

My fiance found this underground at his coal mine job and we aren’t having much luck identifying it! It was found as part of the Herrin coal seam in southern Illinois, Randolph county to be exact

diameter 120mm

height 50mm

need your help!

I’ve found many fossilized teeth and lots of coprolites here. I’m guessing this belongs to a prehistoric sea creature, but I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Any ideas on this one. About 1cm in diameter. Preserved rapidly in volcanics. Notice unique shapes and spots on long abdomen or possibly wing. The closer I get the more detail is lost. Plants and animals of this region at the time (3.5ma) were similar to those from northeastern Queensland.

Just about 3 inches long including the root. Weighing 68.39 grams. Found in central Iowa on a gravel creek bank

This was collected by my maternal grandfather around 1950 in Caldwell County, Kentucky. I’d like to know what this is a fossil of and why it’s so sphere like.

Doesn't show any flaking which leads me to believe it isn't a shell, weird pattern on smooth inside. Maybe a beak from a squid? Location sw florida

Not completely sure if it is a fossil, but figured you folks would know!

Found in Yaxley, UK, so should be Jurassic. It feels lighter than usual, so I assume that it's bone, but no idea what. It does not look like the usual flat vertebra. From the area, it could belong to an ictiosaurus, a plesiosaurus or some shark. Any help is appreciated.

I found this in my yard in Central Illinois. It could very well have come from somewhere else since my house is from 1860 and I've found various interesting rocks in mine and surrounding yards.

It really appears like a geodized vertabra to me.

It is greyish, brownish with quite a bit of druzyish quartz fill in.

I have lots of fossils and minerals, but this one has me befuddled.

My four year old found this in our yard. Any ideas?

I trust our collective inteligence

Found these in some rocks around a reservoir by Bozeman, Montana. I was wondering, just out of pure curiosity, what animal these came from and the possible prehistoric era they may be from. I was thinking maybe some sort of mollusk or bivalve.

Cleaning some fossils a friend gifted me from a local beach trip! I’m just having trouble telling what I am trying to uncover here.

I’m using a water, a toothbrush, and some toothpicks to clean it. It’s worked good for sand and clay so far. If anyone has any cleaning tips please let me know!

I found it on the river bank. This was among a lot of river stones piled up on the bank. I read somewhere that there are trace fossils, which are just the imprint of trace. Is this that kind of thing? Thanks!

Hiya, my grandfather was a geologist and we recently found these in his collection would anyone be able to help ID these? Thank you so much in advance 😊

Sorry I don’t know a location for any of them, my grandfather worked as a curator for a while so I assume they were discarded specimens.

About 10mm in length, as well as diameter. Any idea what this is?
